  • looks like your humping to ground LOL

  • Actually, wandering through the Amazon wilderness a few years ago, and more recently in a remote village near Timbuktu, I saw some women do this move! I'm being sarcastic! Ridiculous to think you are the 'first woman' to have done this move. Very egotistical!!

  • That's not a fingertip push up. you used your elbows. :(

  • and that's why Jack Lalanne himself said "Don't try it! Get your husband to try it, but not you!"

  • Never knew JLL push ups were a calve workout

  • @goingcrazy38 also don't know anatomy

  • @carolpilates I was being sarcastic, I'm saying the motion your creating is originating from you flexing and relaxing your calves, this is not what Jack laLanne push ups are supposed to work out.

  • link won't copy. sorry

  • I did take another look, and the point I made still stands - what you did, however much "muscle recruitment" you had was NOT Jack LaLanne's fingertip push-ups. In this videos link you will see that his feet are placed apart for balance I think and his body movement is distinctly going UP & DOWN with his ankles/feet NOT moving as yours did. Obviously, being a woman, you do not have the upper body strength to accomplish this feat in the same way. Sorry. Nice try, but no cigar, carolpilates.

  • @narjis542003 body mechanics

  • @narjis542003 This has nothing to do with "being a woman". Just this particular woman doesn't have enough upper body strength--not because she's a woman, just didn't train upper body enough.

  • does it matter if l take another look? it's still the same video, and you still do it wrong.

    Bye

  • @Shonaripa absolutely doesn't matter in the least

  • Nice house.

  • that sure doesn't look like the push-up Jack LaLanne did. You're just moving your feet at the ankles making your body move but not push-up. LOL

  • @narjis542003

take another look...if you don't see muscle recruitment from fingertips to toes you may want to have your vision checked.

  • Evidently, I'm not the only one to slam you, on how your JLL p/u's - aren't. I only did 5 or 6, as I was a bit tired. Oh yah, this is 3 months post fibula fracture and 1 month post tendonitis in the bicep tendon, but I digress.

Only the last 2:00 will interest you, you dont want to watch the rest - as it shows proper form for many various PLANKS along with other great core moves and you apparently do not care to do your moves properly. Cheers!!

  • @GreekPT Get over yourself.

  • @GreekPT again...get over yourself

  • not quite

  • not quite

  • @LordShandor ... closer 'to' than 'not.' Individual expression.

  • those are no jack lalanne pushups, haaaaaaa..

Barely moving up and down, and it seems to be more of a calf exercise the way u do it

  • @Shonaripa Any original thoughts are appreciated. Just how much do you move up and down when you perform these?

  • @carolpilates well you're mainly pressing up only with ur heels. arms should be moving more. Just study how Lalanne does it.

  • @Shonaripa Take another look.

  • you are hot

  • You're not actually doing them, you're getting a calf workout maybe...but your video is incorrectly titled, change "DO" to "ATTEMPT". Nice attempt though, if you start working out you'll be able to get it with hard work and dedication.

  • @TransAmFSAS You only feel it in your calves when you've done them?

  • @TransAmFSAS I am curious what strength it is that you think puts a body in the position on the fingertips or palms and balls of the feet?

  • HACKSS!!!!!

  • Good job, you gonna die young..

  • @MrMenci I am not young now...

  • everybody is hating on you because you dont do them exactly like Mr LaLannehimself, but they dont realise you are a 56yo woman, so i say damn good job and keep up the good work

  • @cerlenox Thanks... You may be correct as the haters are averaging about age 22.Would welcome their posting their attempts. I did send a copy to Jack LaLanne and rec'd a complimentary response. Go figure. Shoulda kept a copy to post. Folks take things too seriously...it was simply a personal challenge.

  • awsome!!! ur hella strong and fit

  • @haidar9999 Thanks!

  • Very impressive - especially for a female. However, she's using a VERY limited range of motion. Jack touches his chest to the ground on every rep. She's only lowering herself 2 inches. Still good for a woman, though. The ability to do this kind of extended arm holds is not so much a function of strength. Rather it's a function of leverage. If you have long arms, long legs, and a long torso, these exercises will be very difficult. That does not mean you are not strong.

  • these aren't quite right, it's a bit off. But I know what you're trying, and actually we do in Gym at our High School. Many of the girls can do it, many can't.

  • @Draliant18 I've been out of high school for 40 years!

  • Good try.... but these are incorrect. You failed epically.

  • seriously?

  • this finally inspired me to try it for once. wow im in good shape and work out all the time i cant even do them as good as her

  • your not on your fingertips.

  • Did you watch the last part of the video or just the first part. She was on her fingertips at the end.

  • Thank you. It was a personal challenge and attempted 100s with a self-imposed one week deadline. While I know the form is not perfect (I was exhausted by the time I posted)...I appreciate you're noticing.

  • @jjazman1234 Thanks...

  • @undefeatd4 I'm not?

  • That takes a lot of core strength. Kudos

  • @bboooobbyy Thanks!

  • damn, your a hot cougar!

  • impressive

  • Not quite there, Carol. Keep working at it! Good start!

  • @GooseHinson how did you get there?

  • sorry but you have to relearn the move.

  • @Andythefunkman show me

  • easy to do when you weigh ten pounds. :-)

  • it must really pain you to see a woman that weigh 10 pounds do something you can't..why don't you work out a lil and see how hard these are? :D

  • Those were HARDLY authentic JLL pushups! More like toe ups....

  • Give it a try.

  • OMG - that is a travesty to Mr LaLanne. Your upper body BARELY moves but you sway your legs nicely. Just for you, I will most certainly post a video showing proper form. You are a charlatan, claiming 'first woman blah blah blah..."

  • Simply means first woman to post. Looking forward to yours.

  • @carolpilates ... still waiting

  • @GreekPT ...8 months??? Still waiting. It only took me (at age 56) a few hours to accomplish...Was sore for weeks! ... but got it done. Def was first woman to 'post' if you listened to my light hearted banter. And sent link to Jack LaLanne - and received a lovely, complementary reply. It was a fun, personal challenge. Lighten up.

  • @GreekPT /Travesty? Lighten up. Using muscle recruitment from head to toe...not momentum. And, yes, first woman to 'post'...

  • Got some CORE muscle happening there! Were you a gymnast in your younger years?

  • @Jasgym77 Thanks, no...ballerina - but only age 5-13...40+ years ago!

  • Bravo! You go girl!! :D

  • @soundwavs1961c Thanks!

  • eh..not exactly the jack lalanne pushup but still great!

  • Thanks! Did my best...Jack's staff thought they passed muster.

  • WTf!!

  • holy shit!!!! i can do like infinite pushups but i cant do those y not?????

  • the set of muscles u work on these pushups are completly different from the ordinary ones while ordinary pushups work ur external musclular structure these work ur inner structure

  • @skillga Thanks! Well put!

  • WoW! good stuff, check my page lemme know what you think.......and good work!!!!

  • Could you show us a max set of regular pushups to compare to other women?

  • Great Vid

  • Wow. Very impressive. I do hope you will be making more videos for us. Awesome strength. Is this mainly about ab strength?
