They're talented but their act contains no jokes. No wonder an audience who doesn't know them doesn't get it. Never understood why Vic and Bob were popular in the UK. Same reason people like dance music. What's the point?
I saw this performance live on channel four when I was a kid. I specifically remember not being able to understand why no-one was laughing. They died on their arse big-time (maybe one small laugh at The Monkees being crushed). That laughter is dubbed on for sure.
Sounds like it, particularly at 2:52 with the trumpet or whatever it is. Usually when an audience laughs, you see their heads tilt back, or they bend forward, you know what I mean? They're just sat there as if nothing happened.
