  • Oh what I would give to spend a day in that room

  • @mcurtgolfer3 Come on out for a tour sometime!

  • @mcurtgolfer3 I took a tour last september of 2011! It was so cool! I'm from Canada so it is possible!

  • Ob er in einer Blaskapelle in Wien angefangen hat? :)

  • @xXxFSTYLExXx We are not sure but he is always planning something good. :)

  • Why the maple/mahogany kits don't have reinforcement hoops?

love them by the way :D

  • @asel1124 We felt the shells had the best sound without needing the focus the reinforcement hoops can give. Thanks very much!

  • is the showroom open for public?

  • @DrummerZful You can check the showroom at the end of our factory tours. We do our factory tours almost every Thursday. If you are planning to be in the Southern CA area feel free to contact our Customer Service guys at customerservice@dwdrums(dot)com to book a spot!

  • "alotofcrackgreatattackbutstillalotofwarmth"

  • @drummingcomments We thought it spelled all one work also. :)

  • So is the Chevy Blue Powder Finish available for order?

  • @HOPExxDRUMMER Yes it is!!

  • how does Thomas Lang do that flip stick trick at 14:49 ? Pretty cool video though with the greatest drums in the world!

  • @xXRoyTennisAcerXx We wish we could explain it to you but we wouldn't be sitting here in our factory if we could! :) Thanks for liking the video and DW!

  • No more sapphire blue for the performance? FFFUUU

  • @asdfcrow Aw don't be mad at us! We still will be offering add on toms in the Sapphire Blue finish and we are sure there are kits out in our dealers stores in this finish.

  • Finally some good footage of him. His independence and feet are amazing

  • @asdfcrow Thanks! Not any of his limbs rely on the other. :)

  • Thomas's kit looks like something you would take to war !..LOL ! look at that thing..his octabans look like missiles ! !

  • @blica1 It is a DW machine with Thomas being one of the best operators out there.

  • still waiting for DW to make the real mccoy, not a chrome lacquered kit, but a stainless steel kit , like Ludwig ...then that, my DW friends , would be cherry !

  • @blica1 Metal shells have been proven to be cool for sure but we will stick with the wood type. ;)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc

I think you need to make a stainless kit as well and stick Thomas Pridgen behind it.

  • i got the first kit and i absolutley loved it..then..i woke up... :(

  • @blica1 Ah we wish you were still dreaming. :)

  • Give me a DW Kit, before I kick it in... ;-))

  • @CyberIllusions Yeah he was ready to get in there!

  • u could never, i mean never get me out of that room, i would have to play every drum in that room

  • @wp08021 No wonder Thomas wanted to play every kit in there. :) He's just like you and me.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc hahaha, yes, very true, i wanna hear this 1, no, i wanna hear that 1, oh crap i can't make up my mind which 1 sounds good, wait, they all sound good, i want them all

  • @wp08021 Haha yeah. Especially the way the showroom was looking for this shoot. ;)

  • I dunno why a great drum brand like DW after adidng talents like Sharone, Moore, Grohl, Zoro, Bozzio Roddy, Thomas Lang, Laboriel, Scott Travis and Tom Pridgen, decides to add Adam Carson, Atom Willard and Cobus Potgieter,Barker...really...decide Dw..do you support virtuosos or Famewhores?..Love your drums but it was painful

  • what are the hi-hats that were played with the performance series kit

  • @subZ3roUK It is pretty hard to tell but we are pretty sure they were a Sabian set. Wish we could be more exact with this info but there is so many cymbals that flow through the showroom it is hard to be exact sometimes.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Thanks for trying, They're defiantly part of the vault line and sort of look like fierce hats but i'm not sure. But one thing for sure i'm getting my self a dw once I've finished uni.

  • @subZ3roUK Our pleasure. We are here for you when you are ready for a DW kit!

  • Gimmie' that blue maple mahogany kit, a dw9000 single pedal, a set of Sabian Evolution cymbals, and I'm set for life!!

  • @Zegers93 Nice! We appreciate you liking the gear in this vid! Come on out sometime!

  • @ReconandFourtrax although it's in the works, we do not currently sell custom dw kits directly. It's free to come tour the factory though. We offer factory/showroom tours almost every Thursday at 2:00pm. We ask that you contact us at least two days in advance to reserve a spot on the tour (space is limited). Our phone number is 1-800-45-DRUMS or you can email us at CustomerService@dwdrums(dot)com.

We would love to help you configure a kit and find you a dealer to order it.

  • That first kit was amazing. Never a fan of DW really...but....damn....

  • I want to marry that blue maple/mahogany kit

  • @XxKurt247Xx us too. That was my personal favorite kit to go take a "drum break" on.

  • do u guys recommend using any eq, compression, etc on a zoom h4n? since it focuses on every sound around it (especially a drum kit) instead of focusing at one specific area, doesn't editing make it sound ugly? cuz with the natural sound it's getting, it sound great!

  • @killjoyshidae1208 we really don't do much to "edit" the natural sound of the H4n. A little eq (small boost around 100hz) and some mild compression and that's really it. We prefer to keep the sound as close to what you would hear if you were in the room as possible. Those mics really are amazing. All of the Zoom mics.

  • That second drum set with the Haitian flag and colors is worth more than the Gross National Product of Haiti. lol

  • @ocdpdrummer87 I'll hav to try the black x heads next. I love the high tuned snare sound. Did u see the pdp concept drums come in pearl white?! Dude I'm stoked! I wonder when most places will b selling them. I know they are the platinums wi a new name and I heard a lot of good things about them. Thinking that may b the best kit to hav sitting in my house. Dw needs to put new vids out like every week, or everyday! Lol. Seriously I can't get enough from all the different drummers and kits. DW mak

  • @joebruiser77 I totely agree with you :D.

I totely become addicted to DW :D In the Future when i have the money i will try to order a Collectors Serie custom Drumkit xD

but that's gonne take a while sadely :(

@DrumWorkshopinc keep those Video's comin we just love them :D + continue the great work you guys deliver to drummer society.

It's only so sad to see that there are not alot of Dutch DW artist.

The only one i knew that was/is endorsted by DW is Jamie Westland drummer of Di-rect.

  • @ocdpdrummer87 thanks for the encouragement guys! We love making these videos and sharing them with you all. We also love the Dutch. We'll work on getting more of them on our roster. We were just appreciating "Hocus Pocus" by Focus today in the office! Seriously!

  • @joebruiser77 thanks! We don't plan on stopping any time soon. Especially with encouragement from fans like you :)

  • I WANT ALL THOSE KITS !!! ...

  • @gbnstt Haha! That would be nice. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc At 21:00 you talk about "something in the hall" that is "bonkers". Can you tell us what it is now?

  • @tomjohnoman to be honest...we have no idea what he was referring to. Maybe the Incremental Clutch? Yeah...let's go with that ;)

  • jesus! thomas' kit sounded that good, and it wasnt even miked!!

  • @sxejdn it was mic'd with the Zoom H4N! Thanks for watching!

  • So do we know what that super secret thing is that was mentioned at 21:40 yet? :)

  • Can I buy that first Maple/Mahogany snare at Guitar Center? And for how much?

  • @YamahaRydeenDrummer Yes you can! You will need to special order the Maple/Mahogany from Guitar Center. Chance are they will not have one in stock.

  • why is it that my bass drum moves alot like the blue drumset in the begining

  • @fred43613 Try tightening the bass drum hoop clamp. It's moving because of the force that he is exerting on the pedal. On mine, I used to have that problem, then I tightened it, and the pedal and drum became one.

  • @TheDrummingAsian Good call. The spurs can help also with the combination of the type of flooring you are playing on also. If you are on carpet make sure you have those spurs dug in! :)

  • Hi guys , can you suggest some retailers in the states that I can buy a kit the same as the first kit in this clip ? Do I have to make a custom kit with the same components ? 9x13 tom 16x16 floor 14x24 kick , (id like a 18x24 kick for more punch and depth would I be right in that thinking?)

So they are 8 ply no reinforcement rings maple mahognay shells ? Im just after a shell pack.

many thanks again for a great video. Thanks for your earlier reply too.

  • @wilburd7 Any of our authorized DW drums dealer will work great for you. You can order these exact specs you have mentioned you will just to need to relay that info to your dealer. The 18x24 sounds like a great size to get some more punch and you will still have the deep sound of the Maple/Mahogany on your side.

They are definately 8 ply shells without hoops. You got it all covered! Just check the dealer locator link below and you are on your way! :)

  • The DW Renown '57.

  • I'm a rocker but i love the jazz kit sound !!

  • @thomaslejon We have a rocker or two on our artist roster who feel the same way. :)

  • i usually don't enjoy lang's drumming, but here though it's fairly simple i really like it. i thought i don't like his style, but maybe it's just his usual sound preferences that don't suit me.

  • @odolany Fair enough. It is a good point you make him keeping it simple in this vid. Shows he can hold it down really well also.

  • 14:20 see what happens when you give this man a double bass pedal? minds get blown!

  • @drumguy6499 No doubt! Give him anything and he'll make it happen. :)

  • WE NEED MOAR DW SHOWROOM but seriously its 2012 what are you waiting for?

  • @orfeas230 We appreciate your enthusiasm very much! We try to put these vids our yearly. Our showroom was in shambles and we are getting back together as we speak. Look for another Candyland vid towards the end of summer.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Thanks for the info dw another question for ya when are you gonna show the results for the pdp snare drum contest?

  • @orfeas230 No problem! We will announce the winner on March 30th.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc oh and in the next one it would be a good idea to bring more than one dw drummer such as cobus, dave grohl, joey castillo, tony royster and more others puttinng them in various drum sets suiting their styles

  • @orfeas230 Not a bad idea at all!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Being from a far away country (greece) good ideas are all that i can contribute to such a good company DW! DW! DW! DW!

  • continued.. if i was gonna get a kit that i would keep at my house to practice and play on and not take them out then i would do the pdp x7. i guess i wouldnt have a peace about paying that much money for something that would jus sit in the corner of my house and would be a burden on my wallet. One day though i hope to pay cash for a white ice dw performance kit. also @ocdpdrummer87 i use a emperor x by for my ocdp 15-ply 14x6 vented snare and my batter is really really tight. that worked 4 me

  • @joebruiser77 Emperor X skins are great skins :D

It has a lot of attack, but the corrected sound is only adsived when tuned high.

And for a heavy hitter what i am it has alot of durability xD single ply skins are really great for a open tone but they not great for me because there prettty quick worned out.

  • @ocdpdrummer87 also try the Remo Black X head.

    Also really great head :D

White ice is a really great finish xD i myself have a Black Mirra drumkit xD

Btw the aucoustics of the room your playing plays also a really great part in how your drums sound.

  • @ocdpdrummer87 The asswome things about the Performance serie is that it doesn't matter how high you tuned the drums they still have alot of low-end, just B-e-a-utiful. it really blew me away xD but i can understand that you have to be able to affort it and indeed it is really a waist if you can't use this set in a live performance.

  • Get Kirkee Back on the kits!!!

  • @ocdpdrummer87 I agree with ur point about tuning drums correctly. I just tuned my church's pdp cx kit and it sounds amazing, lots of compliments. What helps is knowing what heads will produce the sound ur looking for and how to tune a drum properly. The John good vid is great for how to tune drums. I'm in the same boat with killjoyshidae1208 about the pdp vs the performance. I would go with the performance kit if I had the cash and I would be using it for shows and what not. But if I was gonna

  • @joebruiser77 Nice guys. We love your guys conversation here. Brings up a lot of good points with answers to each point. Thanks!

  • Just a question for anyone that ownes a DW Edge Snare.

    Size: 13x7.

What's the best way to tune this baby?

i like them tuned pretty high..but for some reason i can't seem to get near the sound of the DW Edge snare Chad Szeliga play's in his video here on the DW youtubeChannel.

As batter i have a Evans Powercenter dot.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • @ocdpdrummer87 High tuning would be the way for the 7x13 Edge. Believe it or not snares of all types like to be cranked higher than what our threshhold allows us. Have you seen our tuning video with John Good yet? Watch our method John created and let us know if this helps at all.

  • Hi

The powder blue kit at the start of the video sounds incredible. Are there any effects or compression on the audio of this ? I live in australia and want to buy one, though id much prefer to buy one from the states as for some reason the DW's here are twice the price of yours ! damn greedy australian drum importers ! are the specs of this kit what is posted @Comez84 ? Really really really cool video !!!!! Thanks : )

  • @wilburd7 We used a Zoom Mic H4N and Low mic level with the general limiter on. Using the stereo pair and recording on AIF files at 48k and 24 bits. Sounds like a lot but pretty standard. Thanks for your feedback and we hope you can get into a Maple/Mahogany kit someday out in Oz!

  • so, yeah, I'll take five of each!!! DW, you rule!

  • @awsomethingsmax2 Thanks we think you rule! We are nothing without you!

  • so, yeah, I'll take five of each!!! DW, you rule!

  • It's the drummanator!

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Sonor Drums are better :p

  • best demo vid EVER!!! hands down!

  • @leeyatding Thanks very much and thanks for very watching!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc may i have a free dw kit? haha

  • @RealBearWolf68 Wish we could hook everyone up. :)

  • If I could do this for a day I think my life would be complete haha

  • @MrHMcCormick Well come on out! :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc

I would if I had some extra cash :( hahaha

  • T_T i want to get a dw/pdp kit so much right now. i saw one of my favorite artist from korea perform yesterday, and the band that was performing with them had a dw kit, so my urge to get one grows stronger. i wish i can afford one right now. *cries like a baby* :'(

  • @killjoyshidae1208 Don't cry Shidae! There will be a day for you we are sure!

  • Comment removed

  • @killjoyshidae1208 maybe a good idea to look at the performance series DW offers :D it's a lot cheaper than the Collectors serie.

But the quality is the same...and it just sounds amazing :D

  • @ocdpdrummer87 i think it sounds great too. in the choosing drums for your church... video that dw has on there channel, the guy plays a pdp x7 series, performance series, and a collectors series. i think that the performance series is as equalif not better than the collectors because of the way its tuned i think. they sound great and they are quite a bit cheaper too.

  • @ocdpdrummer87 Thanks for chiming in! Well said!

  • Collector's Series Maple/Mahogany, Chevy Powder Blue with White Marine Inlay Hoops, and Maple/Mahogany Edge Snare

Are all the shells VLT? im planning to order a maple mahagoni shells and your answer would help me a lot!

  • @Comez84 Nice sounds sweet! We would love to help. Are you looking for Maple/Mahogany VLT shells specifically?

  • @DrumWorkshopInc I´m going to take 13x9 tom, 16x16 floor and 24x16 bass. 13x9 should be VLT and floor and bass should be VLX i think. What are the specs in thad blue kit?

  • @Comez84 Nice. Good sounding configuration. The kit in the video in Powder Blue is the same as your specs but the bass drum is 14x24. The Maple Mahogany shells are a VLT shell. We do not offer the M/M in a VLX shell type but the kit you have created would really well in a maple shell. Check our specs you below.

    9x13 VLT

    16x16 X

    16x24 VLX

    Sound ok?

  • Hahahahahaha!!! Austrian Thomas Lang doing Austrian Ahnuld impressions lmao

  • @xXbrick84Xx Good stuff huh?!?

  • i had a room like this once....then i woke up

  • @strainnathan11 Haha! Well there is only one so I guess we can still dream. :)

  • thomas's kit sounds great, but the rest all sounded the same....fat ass vintage sound...not a fan of dw drums...tama,pearl,sonor all the way!

  • Man... I live in Santa Barbara for college, I'm drum-less, and I'm car-less. I wish I could somehow drive the 30 minutes to Oxnard to see this!! It's killing me that I can't play drums, and the world's best drum company HQ is so close to me, yet so far! :(

  • @dexsullivan Find a buddy to give you a ride! We love to have you down for a tour sometime. They are almost every Thursday at 2 pm. Feel free to contact our Customer Service at 1-800-45-Drums ext. 450 to book a spot on the factory tour.

  • the kit that belongs to thomas is just beast

  • @TheMcShay Isn't it?!? His design with our technology but who knew that kit would turn so huge in sound and display?!?

  • This place is like Disneyland for drummers.

  • @snooters It is! We had a lot of kits in the showroom during that shoot. Right now because of the Namm show the showroom has seen better days. :)

  • How can I find out the prices of a custom kit

  • @moviemaker0023 Please contact you local authorized DW drums dealer. Check the link below to find the closest dealer to you.

    ://bit(dot)ly/v7qPFu

  • when is mars volta gonna relize they're nothing without thomas lang???!!!

  • @makethetransition00 Great question!!

  • There's a ghostly like echo on Thomas' kit... Is it included on the kit?? Hahaha.. just kidding.. But really there is an echo...

  • @themouseisinthehouse Not included. Could be something with the mic or the toms sustaining.

  • i'd rather come here than heaven after i die....

  • @an225gd Crazy! We'd rather you visit here than anything else!

  • please make a video of the namm show! i saw a platinum kit, and i'm thinking, "YES, COMEBACK!" i'm so happy right now :)

  • @killjoyshidae1208 Hmmm. Pretty close Shidae. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc oh, the series are concept maple and birch. they look awesome! i hope they sound as good as they look. i'm going to miss the platinums, but this might pull me away! C:

  • @killjoyshidae1208 There you go buddy! The Platinums will be missed but the Concept will overcome. :)

  • i like how Thomas is like " HOLY SHIT DRUM SET!!!! IMA PLAY IT!!!!"

  • DW= Dream World mhhhh :)

  • @oneworld504 Could be...:)

  • this show room is sick and the guys are fun to watch, wish i could afford a dw,and has anyone heard of cymbals call soultone cymbals?

  • lmao love 25:51

  • @ddrumdaz1 Freestyle with the boys! Priceless!

  • why would bill clinton have a drum kit ? :) really nice sounding kit though

  • @unConTrolleDdruMEr Because he like to jam out! :) Thanks!

  • Only a few month's then I'll join the family YEAH ! ! !

  • @theangerfist We are excited to have you join!

  • thank you dw for making my dream kit 14x11 tom 16x16 floor 18x16 floor 24x20 bass and the special masterpiece top edge snare 14x6,5 (natural finisch)

  • @ebyjon You are so welcome! Thanks for your positive feedback and being a part of the DW family. :) Nice size choices for your kit.

  • I have a question. Is there a way to have tours in the wonderful DW factory? thanks!

  • @Alubell1212 We have our factory tour almost every Thursday at 2 pm. You can contact our Customer Service at 1-800-45-Drums ext. 450 to book a spot for yourself!

  • Sure Thomas Lang has chops, but Curt is no less of a player--not 2 mention a nice guy

  • @gmorton731 Both nice guys with chops right?!?

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Im sure-- but i was responding 2 what Curt said about getting him off the kit--Ive seen Thomas solo many times--I know what he is capable of--Curt i know as being a solid groove player--& as a aspiring session player myself wishes he had 1% of his resume & discography

  • @gmorton731 Yeah they are on different ends of the spectrum respectively of course. Kirkee B with the session work resume like a young Keltner and Thomas with the freakish technical skills. Both can definitely groove in their own ways. :)

  • Shivers down my spine listening to the "Collector's Series Exotic Twisted Olive w/ SSC Maple Shells and Edge Snare" at 12:00. Sounds so good.

  • @dasoundengineer Thanks! We hope you have a warm jacket. :)

  • When is the next one?

  • @ChriyR Ah good question. Hopefully we can get another Candyland before the end of the summer.

  • hey is there any one cymbal company that the guys working at DW prefer most of the time? What does John Good use?

  • @ab4foot11 We support all cymbal companies and believe that each company has great products. We currently have Mienl, Zildjian, Sabian and Paiste set up on kits in our showroom. Not sure what JG is working with these days. :/

  • haha @1:45 after hitting the bassdrum ¨Yes¨ xD

  • @elvetobbe You know it!
