I could counter that most religious people I come across are arrogant and sanctimonious and proud of it. They believe they are one of God's chosen people. If people belong to "organisations" they support the views and dogmas of that organisation, and if you support Christianity, you support what it does and says, look at the effect of preventing effective birth control, safe abortion, and safe-sex education that leads to the deaths of millions of women every year. It is certainly part of humanity's evolution from superstition, but it would have been much bettter had human thought not been diverted into the dangerous and cruel diversion of religion and sectarianism.
