This was a great series for both teams, Rangers with some historical moments, Canucks coming from 3-1 down...but the riots by the Vancouver fans after losing game 7 result in a lack of respect for them, I mean come on...

@JBML007 You didn't watch much of the series then. How about the offside call on the Tikkanen goal that was clearly NOT offsides? The Rangers would have been up 1-0 in that game and the refs blew the call.

And the icing calls at the end of game 7? They gave the Canucks 2, not 1 but TWO chances to score in the last 10 seconds to tie the game, which were horrible calls.

Can you believe this guy making it sound like the Ref had such an impact on the game and how Vancouver had no luck and blah, blah, blah, blah! The Rangers fucking deserved to win. Bad Calls & bad luck are part of the game. The Rangers made it hard on themselves & played below their potential. The series shouldn't have gone 7 games. The Canucks were a good team but the Rangers had the best record in the NHL that year & the Canucks had a modest 85 points. The Rangers were the better team.

I am a neutral fan and I disagree with you.

1st of all the Canucks had harder opponents in the post season. 2nd, they were more dominent in the playoffs then the Rangers were. 3rd, The officiating heavily favoured the Rangers, especially in game 7. The teams were very equal but the Canucks should have won the cup. Let us not forget it is a BUSINESS, and it was much better for BUSINESS that the Rangers won. Don Cherry said it best. The rangers had to win the canucks were still gonna be heroes.

The clip of Alan Carter nearly suffocating actually aired live on UTV about a half hour before they reran the edited clip as seen in part of this video. I saw the original version that night and it was pretty chilling to hear Carter gasping for breath, live on tv.
