  • Some will say that some 2 strokes are turbo or supercharged, but they also think all 2 sroke engine function the same. A 2 stroke engine required forced induction to work, so even though the blower isnt the same they do they same, a "traditional" 2 stroke such as most rc engines use the case as the turbo, the piston working much like a "blower", while larger 2 strokes are externally inducted by a charger"usually air started" but the air/fuel mix doesnt pass thru the case itself.

  • @rockhardtech Supercharging/turbocharging a 2 stroke nitro not recomended imo. On a 2 stroke motor within the head of the engine the exhaust ports timing is usually the last 2 close in the cycle, to make use of the tuned exhaust. Even though the case might be charged from the pressure increase the tuned exhaust is not designed for the flow velocity of the engine under boost and the effects of the tuned pipe will become negated. Extra boost will flow out the exhaust. Minor perf. inc. at most.

  • how much do you think it would cost to build one like that? i would love to but i do not know where to start and what to buy would love the help thanks and great video!!

  • 0.00000000005 psi

  • Nice man. I applaud your creativity. That's what R/C is all about.

  • where did you buy tha and the exhaust what kind of car is that I liked and I loved all of your vidoes so I had to subscribe

  • already got a 4 stroke?

why do you don't use a airplaine engine?

The biggest Problem is the clutch, I know, but what about custom clutches? There are a lot of RC Pullers with 4 Strokers!

    Have Fun!

  • Nice rc

  • Lol why... Haha

  • What size are those exhaust fittings and couplers

  • Are those Integy piggybacks?

  • Where the hell are people getting these?

    Nitro cars?

  • IT looks kool

  • You need 10 times more rotation of the charger than the engine!!!

    Absolutely no impact!!!

  • This is not effective, because the engine rotations are much more than the chargers rotation!!!

Believe me,without the charger the car will be equally fast!!!

    Looks great,but pointless!!!

  • word of advise, dont push air through a carb. the air needs to be sucked through it.

  • @AlchemistHawk What about on real cars do you say that to? 0.o

  • @321juanc YES. it is common knowledge in engine building. To make a successful turbo set up using a carb, you need something known as a blow-through carb. Nitro RC carbs, are NOT blow-through.

  • and did it make a difference

  • wat u use as intercooler

  • nice engine!

  • wast of time this shit dont work.

  • and it works?

  • If i gave you money would be able to create an Os max .21 engine with that system

  • Turbo charged?

  • @okawarichang1 Supercharged

  • were you get the exhaust from am looking for one and cant find any thanks and were did you get all the pieces for the turbo and intake i have the same motor

  • @202koolio they are all hand built.

  • I wonder how you feel when all of that shit you put your time in to breaks, must feel like a bitch :)

  • like the vid bro can u give me some web sites for beginners.

  • hey dude what do you think of the rb superchargers. i here it is a waste of time and money . most of the people saying it have never tried it i really want to get one for my rc. any info would be appreciated thanks

  • @myslash09 you may know this but superchargers do not work on 2-stroke motors. i built this prototype so I can replace the motor for a OS 4-stroke in the future. OS 4-stroke motors are almost impossible to find. anyways, I wouldnt buy RB for a 2-stroke motor. save your money and buy a high output 2-stroke and it will out preform the supercharger.

  • @Novaeproducts OS has many 4 Stroke motors... even special ones for cars, so you don't have Problems with the exhaust

  • @EinBick can't put air plane 4-stroke in cars. OS used to make one just for cars but it's been discontinued for years

  • @Novaeproducts yes you can, I know one guy who even put a wankel engine into a RC car.

    It's just very difficult.

  • @Novaeproducts I beg to differ. I have a saito .40 engine. it was a control line model for a plane. I made a custom flywheel and clutch bell on a lathe and it works just fine in my sand rail. I am currently adapting 2 turbo keychains into a functioning turbo for it. there is no problem with overheating.

  • hey dude what do you think of the rb superchergers. i here it is a waste of time and money . most of the people saying it have never tryed it i really want to get one for my rc. any info would be appreciated thanks

  • Supercharging a 2 stroke makes absolutely no sense.

If you know how a 2 strokes functions, you'll understand why.

  • Wondering if anyones going to point out that you can't boost a 2 stroke glow engine...ohwait...

At first I was shaking my head, then realized you wernt trying to pass this off as a real supercharger like those fools who rip people off. Yours is just for looks with a little functionality (in that it operates, just without results) and that I can admire. I would recommend that you add that to the description so maybe people will get off your back about it.

  • Damnn how did you pass the emissions test? Haha jk nice vid bro

  • that's some real shit!

  • How much did this whole project cost?

  • @tymsk8er not a lot of money ($100 maybe) but a lot of time

  • @Novaeproducts you do know that when making an exaust it has to be the right length and thickness and shape to deliver the most power?

  • @Novaeproducts cant you just use a 4 stroke os plane engine?

  • @Novaeproducts you should have a container where the intake like goes through dry ice.. but not taking in the co2 gas of course.. got job though looks legit

  • I have a hpi savage 5.9 big block, how much for you too make me a full kit? Please respond. Thanks

  • This does absolutely nothing

  • wow these rc cars are a lot more complex than i imagined

  • Hi I just saw the video that you hung the r34 and I wondered how you did that invention of the supercharger because I like my engine wear it well that if they are not much trouble to ask.

    thanks

  • Nice!

Where can you buy those exhaust elbows?

  • I forgot to mention, I can't remember who, but OS or Saito engines made a 4 stroke that they modified at the factory to be installed in 1/10 scale nitro cars. It had monster torque and that blower of yours would really pimp it out if you could find one of those engines.

  • @commodore88 thank, i goal was to supercharge the 4-stroke motor by OS. (the one made for the rc cars with pull start). but it's impossible to find. I built it so that it can be switch out in the future.

  • While supercharging a 2 stroke essentially does nothing but burn it up, I gotta say that is epic execution of the piping and I REALLY like that exhaust. And the cool part, that inter-cooler will make the engine faster without that blower. The colder charge helps these little motors a lot.

  • what kind of pipe you use to make the escape?

  • wow i didnt realize how much work goes into these, its a tiny model with all the fucking work of a real car. legit.

  • is the super charged r34 any faster/slower compared to any6 of your other skylines? surely the supercharger would have to have some effect?

  • @WEZLEEable it doesn't do anything for the motor because it is a two stroke.

  • @Novaeproducts

    It doesn't matter if it's 2-stroke or 4-stroke.

It's unbelievable, that some people are still thinking, that 2-strokes can't be over pressurized..

  • @a7e0 Yes it does. You obviously know nothing of the principals of RC nitro motor mechanics. There are no valves in the motor to keep the pressurization, as a result the fuel air mixture is forced out of the engine because the concussion wave (which seals the exhaust port) is overcome. As a result the motor runs lean and will never reach Stoich. If you richen the fuel mixture to counter this, the motor will cease to run because....(Continued)

  • @a7e0,(cont) the amount needed at pressure is not proportional to the amount needed at idle. Supercharger and turbos do NOT work on 2 stroke RC engines. They only work on 2 stroke engines with actual valves.

  • @mediarocker543

Seems like you have a major lack in your 2-stroke knowledge, please learn the facts before you start to teach other people. You are totally wrong.

Btw, do you have any clue what air-fuel ratio would you want to run for max power in a na gasoline engine? approximately

  • @a7e0, You're totally wrong. This isn't a gasoline engine and this isn't any normal 2 stroke engine. It is a Glow fuel engine which works COMPLETELY different than a normal 2 or 4 stroke gasoline engine. There are no valves in glow motors so the supercharger overcomes the echo wave in the tuned pipe causing it to run excessively lean. Learn your facts before you start trying to tell me what I know. And for a 4 stroke gas engine stoich is 14.7-15.0:1 and optimal power is suggested to be 12-13.5:1

  • @a7e0, I know what I am talking about when it comes to glow fuel motors, and they cannot be charged like normal gas engines or diesels.

  • @mediarocker543

Umm, so you say that 2 stroke's need exhaust valves to keep pressure in cylinder, so why there are so many charged snowmobiles? :)

  • @a7e0, Glowfuel motors /=/ snowmobile motors. Snowmobile motors can adjust for changes in barometric pressure thanks to the carburator or EFI system. Glowfuel motors cannot since they run on a fixed tuning and will always hyperlean. I've explained this so many times.

  • @mediarocker543

Well, the whole point was from the beginning that the overpressure wont stay in cylinder and now you are talking that mixture will become too lean, due the carburetor.

To fix this problem you need to pressurize the fuel system, like directing the boost pressure also to the fuel tank. Even snowmobiles carbs won't fix the air/fuel ratio in charged setups, without "boosting" also the fuel pressure.. So this would do the trick.

    Continuing..

  • @mediarocker543

Another solution is to simply place the carburetor before the sc/turbo, so the carb would never see any overpressure. Easy.

What comes to charging 2 stroke, it won't be easy to make it run perfectly whole rpm range. But it is indeed possible to make it run quite well, at least around the rpm range where the exhaust pipe is designed to work at best. So it's recommend to install turbo after exhaust.

So, seems like you don't know enough to know, that you don't know nothing. ;)

  • @a7e0 I know nothing about 2 stroke snow mobiles or dirt bikes. That's for sure. Never had a snowmobile and don't need one. However Glow fuel motors for the RC hobby cannot benefit from charging without damaging the motor severely. That is my point. They do not take to it well without severely overheating and eventually destroying the motor.

  • @a7e0, I didn't mean to come accross as 2 strokes cannot be charged, however 2 stroke glowfuel motors cannot be charged.

  • EVERYONE this does nothing!! It leans the hell out of motor, and the extra power its making albeit a tiny bit, its using to power the super charger. This is just for looks, yea it runs but does not do what a real supercharger in a car would

  • supercharger is a waste of money it dosent even do anything

  • I think my skyline might be faster ;)

  • are you limited to engine size . i would recomend the old os max v 46 thay go for about 50-75 on ebay . and you will have no power problems

  • very cool, to bad u cant supercharge 2 strokes with sucsess :S

  • @maxbify huh? sure you can. i saw a 2 stroke Detroit Diesel V24 engine with 4 turbos and 2 superchargers in a Hot Rod magazine a while ago

  • @nathanihensel thats because the old detroit diesels had a thing that closes the exhaust port, all though you can turbo charge a two stroke, but its very hard to get it working good.

  • @maxbify well, thank you for being an intelligent human being

  • where did u buy the things u put on the car?...is it an HP Evo?

  • whats the intercooler made out of

  • How muchboost dose this baby run

  • Rofl

  • air cooled or water? i think water

  • please PLEASE!!! tell me or show me how u made the supercharger, intercooler and exhaust

  • how much money do you have into this thing now???

  • @hotpapilatino253 not a lot of money but a lot of time

  • @Novaeproducts That car is a HPI rs4 RTR 3 evo right?

Because i have on and i like to do that too....

  • @Novaeproducts Because i have that car too*

  • hi, I know you probably get 101 different msgs like this, but please take some of your time to reply my name is Darien, only a couple of nights ago i stumbled on your video about your R34 skyline GTR (the copperone) and i was hoping if you can help me out a bit.

1)Where do i start off in terms of getting a rc?

    2) where can i get one of the R34 skyline GTR?

    3) can you send me some links on where to get them and what kind of upgrades they can take

and what kinda of gas do they use???

  • @k9monkey1 if you are new to rc, you should start with a electrical car. try to buy a kit (not a RTR or ready to run) . learn to put the kit together by following the steps in the instructions. this will help you with future repairs and modification to the car and not depending on the guys at your local hobby shop. the car body and chassis are sell separately. you have any body as long as fitment is right. you can find a lot of the parts and bodies on ebay. good luck!!!

  • @k9monkey1 ur best bet is to get nitro its cheap to run and tons of fun. eletric cost to much cus a charger and a lipo battery is like 300 dollars and for 300 u can buy another nitro for what u r paying for batttery and charger

  • @k9monkey1 the nitro ones use nitro fuel usually ranging from 15% to 25% they are fun to drive but can heat up quickly if your just "bashing" (the art of basically driving around aimlessy for nothing other than personal pleasure)

they have to be cleaned regularly as the lubricant is also in the fuel and can make the exhaust gases fairly greasy! i love nitro i love the noise and the smoke. you have to like tinkering around with it too. as you may have to tune often depending on the weather.

  • is that a homemade turbo boost and can you make a video of how you put it all to getter

  • Why did you put an intercooler on it, only turbos have intercoolers because they work off exhaust pressure, and superchargers just go straight to the intake

  • Comment removed

  • @Fraziernrc yes but also the friction in between the air molecules caused from the air compresion creates a rise in temperature, although i don't think it justifies here, there's not enough air volume in that tinny turbo

  • @Fraziernrc Just want to add that alot of "superchargers" also have a liquid/air after cooler in intake manifold.

  • what did you use for the supercharger's belt?

  • @denieru94 O ring

  • HHow did you do your exhaus pipe?

  • @zazklubs aluminum sheets and tubings

  • hi iv got an a t-15 can it be supercharged ????

  • very very nice work man realy car

  • Great video! Great dyno run.

Do you have any resoults from it? RPM before and after ? Or some thing like dyno could tell us?

it will be great that we can see those informations in the describe.

YOU INSPIRED ME TO BUILD A BLOWER ON MY OWN!

  • the 2 strokes on banshees do not have the exhaust ports directly across from the intake so the boost does not go straight out the exhaust, and these rc cars need the compression and heat to ignite it makes it combustion like a deisel does theres no spark plug only a glow plug which is design to get hot and glow and to keep a certain amount of heat on the motor, hope that clears up some misunderstandings

  • @thyreapu fully aware of the inner working of the nitro 2 stroke motor. this is just more for fun than function. been looking for the old school OS 4 stroke for years, then again, it's not a good way to gain performance anyway. replace it with 3 port turbo 12 ms will double the output without weight gain.

  • the superchargers do more harm to these lil nitro engines because they are a 2 stroke motor and have intake and exhaust ports across from one another so it blows fuel out the exhaust and doesnt let the tuned pipe do its job and are extremely hard to get a good tune because of this, would be way faster with a port and polish job on ur piston sleeve i did it to my 3.3 jato and its way faster with just a port and polish job , just my .2 cents

  • where i can by a supercharger for my t-maxx 3.3

  • How your intercooler works !! I want to build one...

Sorry for bad english, i'm brazilian...

  • Thanks for replying to me and did u get the silicone their also? And was it a big pice and u just cut it or what. Thanks

  • What is the muffler tip made of and what size mm is the tubing and what do u use to connect them some type of silicone tube or what? Thanks

  • @reddogg850 the tip is about 1/2" diam. 3/8" tubing and silicone elbows to connect everything

  • What would I look for at tower hobbies to make an exhaust. Keep the videos coming. They are sweet hopefully I can make an exhaust like that.

  • @reddogg850 search for aluminum tubing and aluminum sheets. they are all raw modeling materials

  • Where i can buy a supercharger for my hpi rs4 3 evo?????

  • @elmasbuscado11 it's all hand made at this time.

  • how much money did it take to make this

  • @area51topAlien not a lot of money at all, the material was under $50, but it took a lot of time (2 weeks on and off) to build everything

  • VERY NICE....

  • where did you get the tubing for your intake and exhaust?

  • @AlchemistHawk towerhobbies has everything you need

  • I didn't think 2 stroke motors could be boosted? or is it just for show....

  • @Legotruck82 2 stroke cannot be boosted. i will switch it to a 4 stroke one day. it's just pumping air for now

  • @Novaeproducts try telling that to microboost

  • Just get a novarossi turbo racing engine and it will out perform this "Supercharged" engine. Why spend $ 300 to 400 buck on this add on ?

  • @pinoyeh well, a novarossi turbo will tear my car to pieces and my supercharger didn't cost my anything, but i digress. it was just something i wanted to make, not to mention force induction doesnt work on 2-stroke motor anyway.

  • I LOVE IT!

Where u get that muffler it's really cool looks like a bazooka!!!

I have a K&N mini airfilter for my MGT 4.6, if u want i can show u it!

    PLS reply

  • @luisfdoocastorjames cool, hit it. I hand built the exhaust using alum. pipes

  • @novaeproducts how many gears does it have, how much power?

  • @Bret3030 standard 2 speed.

  • Haa Woww mann thiss a reall muthafawkenn Hobby !! qootah qivee Yhoo PROPSS !!

  • Awww rc dyno??? Wow I wonder whats next

  • Mine is WAY faster!!

  • do yu run it on a street back and forth or on a big track where yu can go full speed

  • @driftbeast00 i set the second gear at low shifting point to get more torque for drifting purpose. i dont know what the top speed is. i keep it in the second gear around full sliding corners with rubber tires.

  • wow, someone else who has GO series music by Moby, very nice

  • put that turbos in 4 stroke engines for ex. air planes or rotary rc engines may work better... nice invention

  • how much hp did it make isnt tht the piont of the dyno to tell us how much it made

  • @lilrider100

My dear, who told you that dynos look like that? Do you honestly think that this guy could build a dyno? He can't even properly make an intercooler, he supercharged a 2 stroke for looks, he's "looking" for a 4 stroke (they're everywhere, just buy them) meaning he hasn't got the money. All in all, it wouldn't make sense that he would spend 500 bucks ATTEMPTING to build and test a precise dyno. Things just don't work that way dude... it's a rig to run the car on a table.

  • that is awesome. i mean the supercharger is pointless, the only reason to have one is to be able to say you have a supercharged rc car lol. very very nice build. oh and where did you get the can for your exhaust?

  • Can you try pumping pure oxygen in, much like a Nitrous system. Not sure if its safe, just thinking (:

  • what! the exhaust! wow!!! omg can u make a video showing ur exhaust please!

    Amazing car man!

  • thats soo cool , except the intercooler is useless

  • @AdOYOO well, the supercharge itself is really useless on a 2 stroke motor. I am still looking for the o.s. 4-stroke motor. but for the time being, it is just for the sake of realistic apparence.

  • @Novaeproducts it would be crazy if you could by 4 stroke fuel injected !! haha . Good job anyway

  • @Novaeproducts its useless on a VALVELESS 2 troke engine... but there are 2 stroke engines that actually NEED the supercharger and sometimes a turbo charger before the supercharger to aid the scavanging process

  • where did you get or how did you make the intercooler? the stuff you have is cool! i need to buy some from you

  • @SUPERFORMIAN you can email me directly. I hand build most of the parts that you see on the car

  • This is why no one should hate Asians. What's your email again?

  • @SUPERFORMIAN taoarcdesign@yahoo.com

  • Fuck the haters thats a awsome piece you built. and you took really goods pic's

  • u need a fan on the front so the engine keeps a little cooler

  • nice but to charge the a 2stroke engine is useless

  • @kourman84 you are right. I'm looking for the O.S. 4-stroke pull start to replace it

  • nice but to charge the a 2stroke engine is useless

  • what does a intercooler helps it cools the air from outside with air from outside right??? or did i miss understand the principe

  • install a nitrous kit and it will go 120

  • hey i made an intercooler for one of my cars. what i did is i took a large heatsink from a processor and tig'd it to a few aluminum tubes. you should give it a try. what did you make yours out of? it kinda looked like balsa wood?

  • @Demo7IIRider i used stock squared aluminum tubes from towerhobbie. I soilder them together using durafix.

  • in a setting as small as tenth scale, even if it were 4 stroke, would the power gain justify the weight of the setup?

how much more does the whole rig weigh?

  • @atticusfinch13 I believe in the 4 stroke application, the power gain will be significant. the entire setup weights under 2.5 oz.

  • Really cool build, too bad a super/turbocharger wont give a 2 stroke engine more power since the exhaust already acts like a turbocharger (thats why the exhausts on 2 stroke engines look so weird)

  • @NoiteraD 4 sho. I built it with the intension to one day switch to the o.s. 4-stroke. but it's hard to find the rc car one now. The air plane 4 stroke engine won't find on the car chassis.

  • @NoiteraD according to "turbochargers" by Hugh Maclnnes on page 97, it says "Two-stroke engines have been supercharged successfully to produce more than twice their normally-aspirated output and the potential should be as high as for a four-stroke engine" Maclnnes is a Mechanical Engineer and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
