  • Hello, I was wondering if this is a good teen/adult blade and comfortable in the pocket. I was recently looking at the Crkt M16-14zsf and G10 but they seem big for the pocket.

  • @kicknaziass

Hi, thanks for watching. This knife is also kinda big for the pocket. Closed length is 4-3/4 inches, but I carry it in my back right jeans pocket with no problems.

  • @kicknaziass

A better choice might be Spyderco Tenacious or Kershaw Leek.

Take a look at them before you buy anything. :)

  • You remind me of Dale Gribble from King of the Hill.

    Good review!

  • @edcitems

    AKA, Rusty Shackelford! =D

    Thanks for watching!

    Peace, Duane

  • Thanks for vid man, have you used it, any wear and tear signs?

  • @LookieChannel

I've carried it off and on for several months. It still snaps open like new and I only have to sharpen it 1-2 times per month. IMO, it's worth the price. Thanks for watching.

    Peace, Duane

  • How sharp was the knife out of the box? Just curious because I bought a Spyderco Tenacious a couple weeks ago and I could shave with it. I'm hoping this knife does the same

  • @reviewsofthings

It is shaving sharp out of the box, just like the Spyderco. I bought both new and they come super sharp. IMO, the SOG stays sharper longer. Thanks for watching.

    Peace, Duane

  • I recieved this knife today from Amazon and LOVE it. I picked it up used on Amazon and the knife came razor sharp. Takes the hair right off my arm. Thanks for the review!

  • @zenabi879

Congrats on your new knife. This is still one of my fav EDC knives!

    Peace, Duane

  • Duane, should i get this or spyderco tenacious? im on a budget.. thanks

  • @sanderson9999

They are both excellent quality. I like the Tenacious a tiny bit better so that would be my recommendation unless you just have to have spring assisted, then go with the Aegis.

  • I got the same one and love it keep the vids comming.

  • @xdm50 Cool

  • Hey xdm50 what do you recommnd this knife for edc, tactical, self defence?

  • @Sllaidd

    Yes, all of the above.

  • i was considering purchasing one to use for field dressing, do you think this is a good option duane?

    peace,

    cody

  • Wow, that is a beautiful blade, I am currently the high bidder of one on Ebay :)

  • @patruick94

Cool! Good luck, I hope you get it! =)

  • @XDM50 I lost the auction but bought it buy it now for $59 and I'm really excited for it to come in.

  • @patruick94

$59 is a very good price. Congrats on your purchase. You are going to love it! =)

  • That's one bad ass knife. I put that on my birthday wish list for my wife to get me, haha.

  • @Coalcracker79

It is a great knife. You will love it!

  • Duane, Luv your vids. I'm from Ga. (Near Atlanta) & 3 inc is the limit for a pocket knife here. But i'm in ;aw enforcement & I can carry what I want. Cary the Grip 551 & the Sog Aegis EDC every day. Already wearing 14 lbs on my duty belt so what the hell difference does it make. Somewho I suspect u r in law enforcement as well. Am I correct? Would luv a response. Take care. Luv ur vids

  • do you think it is really worth the extra money to upgrade from the spyderco tenacious

  • @riseofdixieland13

No, I like the Tenacious better. The only thing this one has over the Tenacious is it's spring assisted, which is cool but not necessary. You can open the Tenacious plenty fast with one hand. :)

  • I love this knife~!!! just AWESOME cool knife. I got one myself decided to just keep it as a collectible. I use SOG Flash 2 and Flash 1 for EDC.

  • Great review man =]

I just ordered this knife the other day, still waiting for it. I got the one with the black handle and satin finished blade for $54

  • Very cool blade, I have the Flash 2. Only problem I have with these SOG assisted designs is the lock is too easy for it to accidentally engage in your pocket. So I put loctite on my blade lock so that the lock wont engage itself. Nutnfancy also talks about that in his review.

    Looks good.

  • Is there any vertical blade play?

  • Nope, just a little side-to-side play.

  • hahah..i have the sog tanto and the tanachious spyderco...love them both...

  • love that you are back dude! keep up the good work reviewing

  • Duane--another SOG you might like some day is the Twitch II--that was my first spring assisted knife and has been going strong for a long time--a nice option for ultralight small EDC at about $45.

  • @mmorriso7 I agree twitch 2 is awesome its my 1st spring assisted knife as well i just got it for Christmas and it is so freakin cool

  • a good knife to buy would be one of my uncles too bad theyre so hard to get ahold of lol

  • Congratz on your first SOG knife Duane I'm sure you will love it, I know they are expensive but they're worth it, you don't wanna know how much I spend on my SOG knives xD

PS: SOG is pronounced sog and not S.O.G. at least I think so don't shoot me if I'm wrond xD pherhaps someone can point this out for me :)

    grtz Johan

  • @JohanLocke it can be either way. S.O.G. stands for Studies and Observation Group.

  • thats pretty cool

  • Dude, sweet knife. It's she just a beauty. Love the digital camo on the SOG knives. Great video, hope you get a lot of great use out of your knife.

    Thanks for the shout out!

    5 Stars, Bro!

  • Hey Bryan,

Thanks for recommending it. It was hard to part with $75 but I'm glad I did. =)

  • Pick up the Trident nexts its amazing.

  • great looking knife

  • yeah that was high for that knife, I can find it most places for around 50$

  • Where?

  • @XDM50

Great vid... 5/5 .... I mean "Like" still hate the new format.

They have it on amazon for 61.21...

    Talk Soon,

    Ryan

  • @XDM50

He is referring to the silver, unfinished blade version (which is less expensive), so don't sweat it. I have done some serious researching and the cheapest I could find one with a black, powder coated blade is around 65-70. With shipping, 75 is a very reasonable price to pay for this knife. You did fine! Enjoy that full flat ground beauty.

  • love it

  • I did realize you lived in Washington. I used to live there for 36 years, not too far from the SOG headquarters in Lynnwood.

  • I really like that knife, but I agree with you and think it is overpriced. For $75, aus8 does not cut it for me. Steel should be upgraded a bit, maybe 154cm.

  • great knife! i might have to look into the tanto version...my SOG addiction is itching again...

  • gotta love sog probably my second favorite knife company (under benchmade of course)

  • Definitly not your last SOG.

  • In my opinion, a deep pocket clip is excellent for concealed carry, which is somewhat more important than a slight inconvenience to pull it out, so overall a deep pocket clip is more useful :P

  • I really like the look of this knife. It seems ergonomic also.

  • looks like a badass knife
