Hello, I was wondering if this is a good teen/adult blade and comfortable in the pocket. I was recently looking at the Crkt M16-14zsf and G10 but they seem big for the pocket.
Hi, thanks for watching. This knife is also kinda big for the pocket. Closed length is 4-3/4 inches, but I carry it in my back right jeans pocket with no problems.
I've carried it off and on for several months. It still snaps open like new and I only have to sharpen it 1-2 times per month. IMO, it's worth the price. Thanks for watching.
How sharp was the knife out of the box? Just curious because I bought a Spyderco Tenacious a couple weeks ago and I could shave with it. I'm hoping this knife does the same
It is shaving sharp out of the box, just like the Spyderco. I bought both new and they come super sharp. IMO, the SOG stays sharper longer. Thanks for watching.
I recieved this knife today from Amazon and LOVE it. I picked it up used on Amazon and the knife came razor sharp. Takes the hair right off my arm. Thanks for the review!
They are both excellent quality. I like the Tenacious a tiny bit better so that would be my recommendation unless you just have to have spring assisted, then go with the Aegis.
Duane, Luv your vids. I'm from Ga. (Near Atlanta) & 3 inc is the limit for a pocket knife here. But i'm in ;aw enforcement & I can carry what I want. Cary the Grip 551 & the Sog Aegis EDC every day. Already wearing 14 lbs on my duty belt so what the hell difference does it make. Somewho I suspect u r in law enforcement as well. Am I correct? Would luv a response. Take care. Luv ur vids
No, I like the Tenacious better. The only thing this one has over the Tenacious is it's spring assisted, which is cool but not necessary. You can open the Tenacious plenty fast with one hand. :)
Very cool blade, I have the Flash 2. Only problem I have with these SOG assisted designs is the lock is too easy for it to accidentally engage in your pocket. So I put loctite on my blade lock so that the lock wont engage itself. Nutnfancy also talks about that in his review.
Duane--another SOG you might like some day is the Twitch II--that was my first spring assisted knife and has been going strong for a long time--a nice option for ultralight small EDC at about $45.
Congratz on your first SOG knife Duane I'm sure you will love it, I know they are expensive but they're worth it, you don't wanna know how much I spend on my SOG knives xD
PS: SOG is pronounced sog and not S.O.G. at least I think so don't shoot me if I'm wrond xD pherhaps someone can point this out for me :)
He is referring to the silver, unfinished blade version (which is less expensive), so don't sweat it. I have done some serious researching and the cheapest I could find one with a black, powder coated blade is around 65-70. With shipping, 75 is a very reasonable price to pay for this knife. You did fine! Enjoy that full flat ground beauty.
I really like that knife, but I agree with you and think it is overpriced. For $75, aus8 does not cut it for me. Steel should be upgraded a bit, maybe 154cm.
In my opinion, a deep pocket clip is excellent for concealed carry, which is somewhat more important than a slight inconvenience to pull it out, so overall a deep pocket clip is more useful :P

A better choice might be Spyderco Tenacious or Kershaw Leek.
Take a look at them before you buy anything. :)
