I'm INDEFINITELY banned from giving blood?

@RavenRespiration Yeah it's because I had blood transfusions during the treatment. It sucks because I've got 0+ blood but it's still understandable. This is just abuse of basic human rights. It's all down to AIDs, I guess. Straight people can catch it too so why the generalisation? It's like saying black people shouldn't give blood because Africa has a epidemic involving it.

I'm not allowed to donate blood either but that's mainly because I had cancer when I was younger. In the UK it's still illegal though to be a gay blood donor. Fucking mental. Hope the US gets this sorted out, you guys seem to be more accepting of gay rights than us.

@degomb My Swedish friend told me it's a criminal offence to deny me the right to donate my blood in her country.

But yeah, Gay men can't donate blood in the USA. It's so silly! Thank you!

Well, it's America- land of eternal chaos. I was approached by a friend yesterday about starting a non-profit group to protest the law that bans gay men from blood donations.

@RavenRespiration I honestly don't know what's wrong the American government... their progress in handling LGBT rights are way too slow compared to other countries like Sweden and Canada. It shouldn't be a too difficult issue to solve, because it really isn't. Let the gays marry, and stop using religion as an excuse, because not everyone is a freaking Christian, and even Christians can be intelligent enough to understand.
