This is completely true to me! I've been here for two years as well and I've changed my style a lot but I still love it as much as the first time. Vidding has made me more aware of little things that happen around me, has taught me that you can send a message to the whole world from your little computer with just some images and music. I didn't learn that because I had subscribers; I learnt it because I can do magic when I'm vidding (:

I agree with you completely. Videos and their creators should not be judged... or they should not be judged by the amount of subscribers that person has. It's unfair. I know some people who have 50 subs and their vids are outstanding!

I have to say, I don't think that youtube is a community. It's mostly everybody against each other now. :/ And then the fact that people are always being kicked off cos of copyright...

Art should not be judged on the number of people who click a subscribe button, artists don't owe anything to anyone but themselves.. we vid for US; either as a stress relief or as a hobby. Although I value and appreciate the people that do subscribe, I don't feel I owe anything to them because at the end of the day, regardless on if I change fandoms, I will hear a piece of music and will get inspired - not by numbers but by the art.

when i watch a video I don't look at the number of subbies, I just look at the the video and if I like it I say it because I know that people like feedbacks because it's always nice to hear from people who are enjoying what you do

I love your message and I totally think that you're right.

I vid for myself too and i think that it's great that you are taking the time to spread the word to other vidders on YT.

Although I do appreciate my subscribers, I don't vid based on what they like, I vid what I like, and that wont change no matter how many subbers i get. If i were to start vidding for them, I wouldn't be having fun anymore.

Very well said. I agree with you on every single statement.

When I started vidding I realized that it helps me a lot to relieve stress and to 'escape from reality' - and if it's only just for a couple of hours. Everytime I'm upset, angry or just stressed vidding helps me to get over it.

That number doesn't mean anything! It's always great knowing that there are people enjoying them, but you always have to remember to NOT vid for other people but yourself! And you get that very well :)

Well-said! :) Thank you for making this! I feel the same way, subs are just numbers! I actually think Youtube should take away the subscription bit, or hide it at least so you don't get to see the number, that way no one will be upset or judge you just for the number of subs you've got.

I agree in the sense that it's most definitely not fair to judge a vidder by their subscriber count. Like... why? Have a lot or having a little, doesn't change who the person is. Not at all. I hate that. Even "names" are judged now. Even if the subscriber count is. people judge by name or association and it's petty.

Yes. We've been here for over 4 years now, and have been vidding for longer than that. Our original account was suspended though.

Lol, well that should be obvious after so many years. Just vidding. It's easier to stream your videos than have people download them. And it's nice to hear that people like them sometimes. It's where our friends are too. Friends we've met through YouTube. It's not a whole community, but we still have our corner to share our vids through. My corner is peaceful, and I like it. Lol. I always TRY to keep an open mind, even through it's really hard.

After the last Important message video, people turned from looking down on vidders with less subs to looking down on vidders with more and assuming that they valued subs more than creating. It's the same issue, only reversed.

I just feel that we need to stop judging each other at all. But because someone has lots of subs doesn't mean they value themselves according to those subs!

And making any kind of assumption is not cool.

That's why I made the video, I felt that vidders with lots of subs were being judged because of their large number!
