This is ridiculous. And kind of gross, if you think about it. I think it just reeks of manufactured "pluckiness" to hide good old-fashioned cheapness on the part of the Congressman who do this. They could certainly find a bare-bones efficiency for a reasonable amount, even in D.C., considering they're members of Congress and all had careers before this. I don't think they have to live in their offices to make a statement about not spending lavishly.
