  • Groundshaking loud... ._.

  • lol sounds like a broken water tap!

  • excellent work!

  • Something obviously went wrong in September 2009. Did they cause Sumatra? Did Zelda fan Susie Sahim take the fall because George Hwang was instructed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to include the symbolic Triforce symbols? Ask The Three Musketeers of Tesla Motors. Oh wait... they died in Palo Alto and their bodies were burned beyond recognition while the city was in chaos soon after that.

  • Yakutat Bay, Alaska, USA (1899,September 3 and 10)

The largest vertical surface displacement caused by a single event occurred in this uninhabited region. The second of two earthquakes thrust underwater rocks 47 feet 4 inches (14 meters) above the sea. The Yakutat Glacier, which had been sliding downhill for almost 50 years, suddenly went in the opposite direction. The Hubbard Glacier broke and sent huge ice chunks into the bay. 150 miles away, the Muir Glacier shattered and began to retreat.

  • you would be savin a ton money either way if you buy an EV

  • GM actually hated the EV-1 as at that time GM was having an illicit affair with the oil company....but i've heard they split and GM got NOTHING !

  • Well GM is still pushing the ICE in EREVs aka The Volt. See conserving the parts and service business model is what has always been at stakes for GM.

  • BIN LADEN HATES THIS CAR

  • hmmm i think the oil companies that have trillions run to lose in the long run are more worried then our million dollar cave dweller named ben ladin.

  • thats my car in the future although they only sell it in america cant i buy it and bring it to canadda?

  • SHOW US MORE!!!

  • you wouldnt be saving 100,000 in gas money...

    but its a first step

    is it not?

when the first car came out it was slower than a horse

so should they have stopped then?

  • You would be saving 100,000 in gas money? That was the most stupid comment ever. Even if you drive 24/7 for 5 years straight you would not spend 100,000 dollars on gas.

  • lol if you had even a 5th grade reading level you would understand the word "wouldnt" in my first sentence.

  • Great video....

  • Well, eletric motors don't waste energy in heat so I hope there will be produced cheaper cars in...some centuries ^.-

  • Electric motors don't create heat?

  • Condor1815 probably would say electric motors do waste energy in heat, but they are 70% efficient versus 25% efficient in gasoline internal combustion heat engines.

  • Yes that's what I mean. Everything that moves gets warm due to friction, but electric motors don't have exothermic chemical reactions; cables, semiconductors and transformators get warm too (except they were superconductors) but not in that way as combustion engines do. You could run a steam engine with the heat of the combustion engines, but it is too heavy in a car so it would only waste more gasoline ;)

  • note that this car has the price tag of 100K. i wish i could afford it.

  • Until you have saved this amount of money, you will have exhaled more CO2 as you can save by using the Tesla Roadster instead a Porsche (Joke)

  • They should make enough of these for everybody thats what Tesla wanted done with his inventions so give me one now please.

  • well, you just contradicted yourself. a diesel engine uses less fuel. thank you.

and diesel here costs 1 euro per gallon and gasoline is 1,7 euros

  • Explain to me again WTF your Mums Diesel Pajero has to do with a Tesla Roadster again???

  • i didnt say it was super, i said it was gallon slurping, doesnt mean its fast. and is a mitsu pajero sport.

  • 10L/100kms for a Diesel that's hardly a huge improvment compared to 14L/100kms for petrol.

Just to clue you in kid on something you OBVIOUSLY have no idea about, a petrol motor is 25% efficient while a diesel is 40% so you'd EXPECT a diesel to use less.

The joke is your local fuel prices force you to all to drive diesel, you (probably ur Parents) pay $2.30/lt where as it's $1.48/lt where I am. So it costs your mum and dad $23/100km while my 'guzzler' uses $20.72/100km worth.

    Loser!

  • lol

  • it looks like an lotus elise to me with the back round lights and stuff

  • It's not about buying 100,000 dollar cars.

It's about showing the American public that electric car technology is viable.

I still meet people who think there can't be big, dumb, powerful electric pickup trucks.

It showcases the absolute sloth of the American car companies.

  • an electric truck would be retarded dude. Not talking about those tiger trucks, I mean real working trucks (i.e. something like an f350!).

  • People thought that electronic cars couldn't go fast. Now people think that electronic cars couldn't develop smaller batteries? Please.

  • indeed, the price is so high simply because its such a small company making them. a large multinational like gm would make expensive anyways, cuz they'z basterds though

  • I get 30 mpg, and drive about 60 miles a day. This car costs over $100,000.00. If gas was $5.00 a gallon, it would take me over 27 years to spend $100 Grand in gas. Give me a break, the people need an affordable electric car, not some car that people are trying to get rich off of.

  • This isn't the only electric car, there are cheaper ones. This is an electric sportscar.

  • obviously you never encountered a toyota prius in the ten years since they started to be sold in the us

  • I keep hearing sounds like a kid's slot-car track? you know.. as they are racing around and you pick one up and hold it on the track without the rear wheels touching.. that ol' DC motor noise???

  • no burnout? lol

  • Range of 221mi. operating at 2 cents a mile?! That would make this monster get the equivalent of 135 mpg... Pity there aren't any dealers on the East Coast. :( Considering there's still a waiting list for them, I guess it's only a matter of time. They certainly can't complain of no interest like GM did with its EV-1. I liked that one, too.

  • Your mileage calcs are probably right. Most gasoline engines are 20% efficient, electric motors 80 to 90%. So if the gas engine can deliver 30 MPG, times 4 for the efficiency differences of the motor would make it 120-140 equivalent MPG. I believe that if they market it this way, and have people put solar panels on their houses to charge the cars while parked, it's basically no cost as far as energy is concerned. Sounds interesting, and should be the wave of the future.

  • "Sounds interesting, and should be the wave of the future."

Pity, cuz we have the technology to make it the wave of the PRESENT. ;)

  • Try calculating cost per 100km (60 mile)

    EV: 105wh/km = 10.5kw/hr per 100 km = $1.05 per 100km (@ $0.10 kw/hr)

    Petrol with LESS performance: 14 litre /100km x $1.40 a litre = $20.00 per 100km

Close enough to 1/20th the energy cost!(depending on what local fuel prices are where you live) In UK fuel is closer to $2.50 /litre so you're looking at 1/35th the energy cost.

x20-x35 is such a monstrous improvement, once the general public become aware there'll be no stopping the shift to EV.

  • 14 litres in 100 km is very much on what car did you based on?

  • It's a Holden Commodore (the biggest selling car in Australia) with a 5.7lt LS1 with 255kw / 350 hp. It's a standard large 4 door sedan which weighs 1600kg. 14 litres per 100km is average for this sized car and is alot better than any SUV!

  • an AMERICAN suv, maybe. but us, out here in the world drive normal suvs with turbodiesel engines

  • I don't drive an SUV and NO-ONE was talking about diesels AT ALL!

Your parents drive a diesel SUV do they? Low truck gearing and as aerodynamic as a brick shithouse! super fuel efficent I'm sure! By any other name it's a personal TRUCK. Get a car mate!

  • well this brick with wheels is more fuel efficient than your super duper holden, that was my only point. but of course you had to distort my every word.

  • Don't talk shit kid... PROVE IT!

  • the only one with anal ejects coming out of his mouth isnt me. and i wouldnt have to prove anything to anybody with at least half a brain. im done posting, why wont u go for a drive in your gallon slurping car?

  • Tell us exatcly what TRUCK you're talking about and we can all look up the factory figures ourselves... without taking your smug word for it.

My car giving a complex is it? I said it was "a standard 4 door sedan".. The most common car on the road.. not "super" anything! Small cock.

  • We have an SUV (tucson hyundai) with an average of 8L/100km

  • that's about 20-25 miles/gallon

  • DO WANT!!

  • Nice car, but I prefer a different pure electric. The first ever all electric american muscle car that is. Its called the Ronaele 300E Mustang and Tesla better watch this competitor. It has slightly better specs and statistics and is around $10,000 less.

  • Get you'r facts strait that Ronaele is a custom you BUY a mustang Then pay 80K for them to make it ELECTRIC.

  • And the specs are pure BS for a DC set up!

  • "electric american muscle car", what a beautiful oxymoron

  • Why would you want a sports car that doesn't make loud noises!? (I know, I know, it's a green car :) )

  • did u know u can use sound effect u can make it sound like f50 or even better poker GT anythin for the planet i just wana be frozen in come back a century later

  • I think girls will like the car with better performance. The Tesla

  • no sound?

sportscar lovers love to hear the rpm symphony!

besides, tesla design is a knock off the Lotus Elise

  • I agree on the no sound part, but it isnt a knock-off. Tesla partnered with Lotus for some parts and redesigned the Tesla so its easier to get in and out of, among other things.

  • You looking for this : Droolworthy all-electric Mustang Ronaele 300e.

  • Its amazing isn't it? At least I think so.

  • Nice car...Have any been sold in Canada?

  • Agreed raci74(or racj74) either way....This technology is greater than anything in the last 100 yrs.

  • I dont like to post comments about comments BUT Linux must be the biggest idiot/ worst parent in the world...KEEP YOUR KIDS OUT OF THE STREET AND THEY WONT GET HIT...ACCEPT SOME PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY...you are the case arguement for natural selection...

  • Don't worry i'm pretty sure the car comes with a horn.

  • well if you're that much of an idiot driver that you'd run over people on the streets, you shouldnt be driving in the first place.

  • I want it
