oh wait i did call them a crappy band lol. Well, i was pretty pissed that week. I will take that back after hearing more from them. I get worked up over music. Sometimes I bash things and then realize I was in error. I still don't like the band, but for me to call them crappy was pretty immature. Bah, I'm learning to just keep my opinions to myself, because somebody always has an issue with them. Oh well, I take what I said in my first comment.

I would consider this band a master of their craft if you do not appreciate the intricacy of both the music and lyrics then that is your loss. First of all every band has a repetition of chords, i am one of the many out there who enjoy the vocals. They play good music simply because it is a mix of soft and hard along with catchy rhythms and tones. not to mention the amazing lyrics. Trend? they speak of God when was that ever a trend? and if you bothered to listen to the lyrics they are not emo.

Further more, Allot of their music particularly on brother sister is on an acoustic with no effects. your arguments are laughable and horribly lacking in validation, you can have a disagreement with religious beliefs, yet complaints get you nowhere. On another note, you never understood this band, not you never "got" this band. And you must first "applaud" someone before you can applaud them for "other things". Just some tips. Go create rather then complain and maybe you can begin to understand.

creation of music is not the creation of good music. Using something so childish, such as my hobbies, in an argument obviously shows desperation and an innability to find an actual issue. Also, do you know the difference between intelligence and wisdom? The same applies to music, there is technical skill and knowledge (yngwie malmsteen), and there is also emotion and feeling which yes requires skill however a different type. Your "Knowledge" means nothing on that side of the scale. MwY's side.

um i listen to alot of emotional music. I would definitely consider one of my favorite bands Pain of salvation to extremely emotional, and technically proficient. fair enough. I have listened to about half of one of their cds with one of my friends and I guess I can't say they are trend whores. That is a good point. They are pretty far from alot of stuff. I mostly just don't like for the vocals and their videos. Their message is really good and I can see how people could relate to them. But I will stick by my master of their crafts comment. they are unique though. I think they are better than alot of bands. I never directly called them a bad band lol.

although i am not a stickler for "internet arguing" i would just like to propose another point. in their most recent cd, brother sister, mewithoutYou implemented the use of an accordian and a harp, and played the very well at that. i would hardly call that following a trend. you are entitled to your opinion, of course, and this is my opinion. they are doing what they do not to conform and not to be praised. i think you should do your research before snapping judgment.
