This is clearly NOT Django and Grappelli. If you would take the time to listen with even half a critical ear, you'd easily see that it's Slash and that dude that plays violin in the Dave Matthews Band.
"Would you kindly" listen again and tell me I'm right?
it didn´t take 5 secs of listening to this to clarify for absolutely sure that this is NOT Django Reinhardt.Try and focus f ex on the "rock-bluesy" way of chopping up the chords at 0:43 and again at about 1:30 and 2:40 and the semifunky patterns following after which all points to an electric guitaristic style developed in the 60´s and 70´s.I find it ridiculous to stir up that much of a fuzz about something so obvious.Chances are that this musician is born around 1965.Violin is neither grappelli
I really like this recording no matter who it is. The beat is steady and swinging. Far too many interpretations are all over the map with the beat and play havoc with the note signatures. Pyeng Threadgill does a very sweet version of this song. She keeps it simple but still stretches is artfully. As far as musicdoq's comment that the strumming is barely adequate., well I don't think that is fair or accurate. He 's is accompanying and doing it very musically, not showing off!!!
@OrganGrinderLola : If I knew I would have included the information. If someone does find out and shows me a reliable source, ill be more than happy to include it in the description and title
@HayenMill Stéphane Grappelli. I can't really name a source other than the fact that they were an inseparable, prominant duo, and founded the "Quintette du Hot Club de France" in 1934. The play style and strokes almost give it away, too. Definately something Stéphane would sound, or play, like.
Amazing stuff. Do you have the complete recording? It's REALLY good and I've looked all over the internet and this is the only recording that I've found.....
I don't believe this is Django or Stephan....nicely played but "too modern" in the chord strumming...pax doug

I think the violinist might be Stephane Grappelli. They recorded dozens of songs together.

this is obviously not Grappelli or Django !!

I've heard that once he switched from Musette to jazz Django was reluctant to play anything in 3/4 time so it makes me wonder too, I like it though!

Not Django.
1. Neither djangomontreal nor djangopedia lists a single recording of this popular jazz standard. They don't miss much.
2. It doesn't sound like Django at all, barely adequate strumming, though the violinist could be Grappelli.

You're not giving the violinist credit. Who is it? Stuff Smith?

@HayenMill Maybe it's Stephane Grapelli on the violin since Django and Grapelli works a lot together, like in Minor Swing.

Are you sure this is Django playing? I doubt it, doesn't sound like him and it's not in Django Integrale, maybe it's someone called Reidenhardt;-)?
