The whole AP intermediate cartridge going through an engine block thing is an urban legend.

Look around, you know someone would post if they succeeded, yet there are none.

Maybe a .50BMG AP round, but not 7.62x39

@Mike85220 I done seent it go straight through an alluminum block V6 with a steel-cored 7.62x54.(I don't really talk like that but I might as well.) Something tells me the 7.62x39 would do the trick if it had a steel-core as well.

@ThePoisonYouth I will believe you on the 7.62x54R going into an aluminum block, but the old iron block I doubt. Did it go through as in front to back, or just punched a hole in one spot and fragmented inside? If it went through the block, I would be surprised.

@Mike85220 @Mike85220 oh yea man, it left all the lead and copper at the outside of the entrance hole and kind of tumbled out the back... there is roughly a .25 steel rod that will hold together all the way through... and I think you're right about the older engines, it might not go all the way through, but it will definately disable it with a proper hit. All you need is a crack in the block or loss of pressure to stop an engine(a tiny hole in a cylinder will do)

@Mike85220 The coast guard uses the .50 BMG AP round to shoot through engine blocks of drug runner's boats, from what I've read. I've fired one, and if you've ever held a .50, you wouldn't doubt its might, hah.

I learned that long time ago by doing it from the hip... one i was older an bought my own i did it from my shoulder...its easy once u get the hang of it.... i can see from all these vids no one has mastered it doe :/ still fun to do doe

Let me explain something. You see, the gun is *NOT* fully-automatic. You cannot simply hold down the trigger to do this firing technique. It's rather tricky to do it, thus the video demonstrating it. Like, if you could drive your car on two wheels, that would be much more than a "pathetic video" merely showing you driving your car. You would be doing something that requires skill... You would be right about this video if the gun were fully automatic, instead of semi-automatic.
