  • FE block?

  • this car, these guys are awesome

  • Sweet music!!

  • Very first car I drove was a 65 Galaxie 500. This video is EPIC!

  • Epic hoonage. Screw drag racing, this is dozens times more awesome and better sounding too.

Also, top speed's often overrated. Being able to reach 400 kph will do you no good if you can't keep a good average around corners.

  • no replacement for displacement :)

  • Air resistance is a huge factor at those speeds, making a car like this unlikely if not impossible to reach such speeds. The Bugatti Veyron needed the power of a small hatchback added to it JUST to add another 6 or so MPH to it's top speed.

The reason its in Km/H? This is a custom built car for modern racing. Underneath, that is hardly recognizable as a Fairlane.

Considering it was built to race on a European circuit like the Nurburging I dont know why it WOULD be in MPH

  • Rolling like a BOSS!

  • Holy damn, that's music of a American V8 right there!

  • WOW....I think this is one of the best " Ring " videos I've seen !

This old Fairlane is faster than the $ 2 million Veyron, maybe even the Gumpert Apollo that set the " Ring " record for time .

I had a '67 Ford Fairlane GT 390 back in the day. I thought it was " fast ! "

I can't for the life of me figure out how they made this '64 aerodynamically able to run 260 mph compared to like the Gumpert Apollo ?

  • @SpainishArcher lol well for one this isnt faster than a Veyron, DEFINITELY not faster than a Gumpert around a track...

And this car CAN NOT, HAS NOT, and WILL NOT do 260mph. 260km-h is 160mph

  • @blackXSpr You mean to tell me that the speed in the lower right hand corner is km-h where it says ...speed ?

I wasn't referring to the round speedo and whatever it read !

  • @SpainishArcher Yes, of course.

Its laughable to think a car with the aerodynamic properties of a brick with I assume less than 800hp can break 220mph much less 260mph.

  • @blackXSpr " Fireball Roberts " drove a '64 Ford Fairlane w. a 427 in Nascar and he never reached speeds beyond the low 220s mph.before he was killed.

Still gets me why a US car would be showing km-h as it's speed unless it was a made for EU audience video.

  • you know all those people he's passing is like damnnn lmao

  • Looks like 1:19 he didn't know which way to go

  • fantastic!!!!

the sound of an american v-8 is still music to my ears

  • this is like me playing gt5 except he isnt bump n running the whole time and hes faster and its real life- its not like me playing gt5 at all actually

  • it has to be asked

    ring time?

  • Dear Bob, your comment is an honour. We are fully aware of you and your 60s races at the Nürburgring and Spa and other places. Lots about and of you in the Cobra Ferrari Wars book. When over to Europe, let us know and you will have a go in the car. Glad this video made your day. the 60s make ours. Barney and Fred

  • I raced at the "RING" in 1964 and 1965-- both in the 289 Cobra Roadster and the Cobra Daytona Coupe, and set a lap record that held for 15 years-- WOW I loved the sound of this Fairlane, driver is looking good, you still have not lived until you have seen or heard the sound of the American Cobra's eating the opponents up like a Pac Man game. This really made my day! Bob Bondurant

  • thats racing! great car, great driver. keep on racing. thanks

  • I love the way you put in fourth gear at 200kmph ¨

    btw; lap time??

  • Very good race and good work by the team

  • I didn't see anyone pass him...or am I missing it....he was blowing by everyone!

  • The one thumbs down must have been a Porsche owner.

  • Speed in KPH? What country was this race in?

  • @gbfru Germany

  • @gbfru Germany

  • @gbfru I saw 267 kph at least once....

  • @gbfru What country is this in? I think it's safe to say the Nurburgring is in a world of its own.

  • @batvette And some scamming douchebags are trying to ruin it for everyone. Save the Ring!

  • Badass!

  • Is that 'The Stig' driving?

  • Can we PLEASE get more details on this car?

    How was it prepared?

What is the rear suspension set up? Live axle & leaf springs?

    Front suspension?

    Engine? Transmission? Brakes?

  • Oh my God, this video is sick. I love how the porsche and audi guys laugh at the ford fairlane at the start, and then they get owned during the race. The guy driving is one bad mother f*****!

  • Car with big balls.

  • I'd move over fast too if I saw that Fairlane coming up fast from behind. What a Beast!

  • That guy right there needs a wallet that says bad mother fucker on it.

  • What a ride! That 427 sounds great in this Moody car and it also sounds terrific in the Thunderbolts. It would make a great American Kit Car. I would build one wouldn't you?

  • Manliest driver ever.

  • A better mic would be a great investment. That said, it is still a pretty decent video.

  • that gearbox must be tough taking that much stick on downshifts

  • Life in The Fairlane!

  • @sprintfan1 he-he, good line (I`m in the unfairlane)

  • Eat it Audi...

  • Cant beat Good old Detroit Iron

  • Brilliant!

  • Lol at the Porsche becoming lap traffic to a fairlane..... sounds properly cranky and I can see he is fighting the oversteer on most corners - what an animal!

  • Sounds awesome! I wish I could drive that track just once in real life, I have hundreds of laps under my belt in video games lol.

  • THERE IS ONLY ONE WORD FOR THIS: AWESOME. ralph moody and john holman must be smiling somewhere.

  • BEING A X ROAD RACER FOR 33 YEARS, I'M 66 YRS.OLD NOW AND STILL GET CHILLS WATCHING AND DROOLING.

  • completly bad ass

  • and people say an old american car is only good in a straight line...lol. with proper american tuning, apparently they can go around the nurburgring, too! :)

  • @BillzHearse and proper driving!

  • wow, ich hätte nicht gedacht, daß der Koffer so brutal drückt. was für richtige Männer.
