  • ford = fucking old rubbish dumps

  • hahaha... there are some fucking idiots on here and they need to learn a lil bit more about drivin before making any more stupid comments... the man definately knows what he is talkin about coz its definately a manual and hes definately flat shifting... i got an F6 and I flat shift at the drags....

  • Why are those other fuckers on your private road?

  • hey man this is in cairns isnt it?

  • Hi gravitygroper. I have a BA11 xr6t with the six speed manual. I am going to replace it with an FG early next year. I ve been considering going with the six speed auto. In your opinion do you believe the 0 -100 times would be roughly the same between the auto and manual transmissions (taking into consideration an individuals driving ability )..Thank you. Mike.

  • @mikenorman66

To be honest, the zf box (6 speed auto) is quicker in every way. You can consider yourself to be a good shifter and it will still beat you. The auto keeps the boost up through the gear changes which is a plus but then again, every one loves manual, even if it is a little slower you still have more control over the car in general, in my opinion. I would reccomend test driving both manual and auto, because the B series comes nowhere close to matching how good the FG is.

  • should have shown ya gear knob first, then we might believe what we see

  • looks like north qld somewhere....

  • ahhahahah der dude u driving an auto

  • @brodierip i always laugh at comments like this, hilarious..... why dont you watch my other videos of my xr6t and tell us whether you think its still an auto? it`ll become pretty obvious even for someone as intelligent as you :)

  • @gravitygroper ....what do you expect mate he is 14 years old this whole generation is like this they are under educated in every aspect of life ..... generation y = generation fail.. From your profile it says you are 30 in our day a 14 year old wouldn't have opened it's mouth to a 30 year old .... the internet is breeding over opinionated uneducated morons !

  • @gravitygroper

yeah u defaintely have a manual.... nice shifting mate and nice car

  • does flat shifting damage the engine in any way?

And can it be done on any car?

  • @Ahmed951100 No real damage to the engine. But it destroys gearboxs as it shock loads the drive train. New cars have been programmed to flat shift quite safely, my advice, don't do it.

  • so you dont need clutch to give it shit like that?

  • "flat shifting"?????

For a start to flat shift you need a clutch

secondly you need to not use that clutch\

also to properly flat shift you would not lift off the throttle at all (to keep it wide open, which is the point of flat shifting)

  • @tapper88 you cant flat shift without pushing the clutch in simple as that. To shift without pushing the clutch in you have to let your revs come back down to slot into the next gear which takes away the whole 'flat' out of flat shift

  • my sperm travels through tunnels faster than that

  • @kniferunknown - lets get upset!!! haha...

  • Hey mate,

    I own a na XR6. BA.

What's the deal with the rev limiter there?

Would it cut out if I hit a certain rev?

Because I've given it a bit a few times before and it hasn't cut out. It's a 2003 model btw.

  • NA im not sure... it will cut out if you rev it far enough tho, id guess its similar somwhere between 6200-6500rpm.

  • Comment removed

  • @ProjectRequiem Yea, it redlines at 6000rpm.. also where did you get the spark cut limiter? I want one for my NA BA XR6

  • yes, TB has an electric motor that open/closes the butterfly. All controlled via the PCM. No more mechanical throttle cables these days mate...

Coupled with the german ZF 6sp auto trans system is even better, the engine ECU talks to the tranny ECU and can peddle the throttle, change timing and fuel mapping, tranny line pressures etc to control torque during each shift. More control than ever possible before. Auto is the future, and the drag times are telling the story for street registered cars.

  • gee there alot of fuckin tools out her on youtube, hey ppl 80% of yas dont know shit. and 10% of ya's think ya do so u come on here big noting urself and tellin ppl shit.. if ya wanna come here and go on like ya know what ur talkin about and dissin everyone else.... learn abit it 1st. or u look like a tool!!

  • because normally, when you try flat change in a BA-BF xr6 turbo, the engine will hit the factory revlimit. When it hits the factory revmlimter, it brings the revs down by closing the throttle and turning the injectors off, thus you loose all your boost. With the mods shown in this video, the revlimiter now controls the revs by cutting spark only making flat shifting possible :)

  • @gravitygroper

the reason the stockies will hit the limiter if you try to drive an auto like a manual is becuase the box is shit and there is a huge delay to engage the next gear unlike a manual which as soon as you release the clutch its got the next gear,

It hits the limiter becuase instead of being in the next gear it is still in the same gear bouncing off the limiter trying to change (which it struggles to do at high revs)

  • @tapper88

You have once again proven your ignorance, the car in this vid is a manual, NOT AN AUTO.

Second, i dont lift my foot at all during those gear changes, the aftermarket gear that has been installed takes care of the details... this is why i posted this video, a stock xr6t will not behave like this.

You should try asking questions first instead of running your mouth, you might learn something...

  • @gravitygroper

I watched the video mate, and did not see anything that even slightly resembled a flat shift, keep on talkin shit, you seem good at it

  • Yeah the xr6t fg's have proper launch control bro.

  • THE WHOLE POINT OF THE VIDEO IS HE'S SHOWING A CHIP HE INSTALLED WHICH HAS LAUNCH CONTROLL AND LETS U FLAT SHIFT U GAY CUNT, Also the new fg xr6 turbo manuals have launch control stock,

  • what have you done to get this im asuming its an auto?

  • he said theres no blow of sound when he shifts u dumb fuck. its obviously manual

  • Plus you can see that it is the manual instrument cluster...

  • wow, nice control. and women say men cant multitask.

is this a ute? BA? BF?

  • Is this in Cairns, lower freshwater road....

  • wats the point of flat shifting?

  • it keeps your boost pressure up so when you change gear you can go straight to the next gear straight onto boost

  • and i suppose your some kind of expert? The car has many modifications inc EDIT, the revlimit can be whatever i set it in the tune, or using the device known as the UNIREV which i imported from the united states. First and only one i know of in australia fitted to xr6t. The video IS flatshifting, the unirev controls the revs +/- 10rpm between shifts by cutting spark. Using the UNIREV also allows antilag/launch control. You people are so ignorant.

  • The bov only went off at the end of the video where he reached a turn and had to stop accelerating.

    Be careful before you comment.

  • sounds like a tiptronic?

  • nice car man love it

  • was this video taken somewhere near Cairns mate?

  • Nice ride mate. Love the way it sounds. All these haters and their holdens. It's a load of rubbish. Keep it up mate.

  • wicked cars but they had faulty clutches when it came to flat shifting didnt they ??

  • yeah i heard the same thing, happened with a car magazine but they claim they didnt flatshift

  • holden = Heaps Of Loud Disgusting Engine Noises... yeeah

  • I love how you Ford boys describe ya Traction Control as Launch Control.

  • I love how you Holden boys, don't relies your cars are built like shit, plastic bunky bogan pieces of shits.

  • Unless you are a parrot, I suggest you find some intelligent way of mocking me. Before you do though, may want to run a spell checker on your comeback. For the record, you reckon Holden are full of plastic. Maybe you should take another look at a Falcon next time, that's if you know what one looks like. By your comment, you haven't seen one.

  • hahahahahahahaha Nice M8 nice..im about to upload a vid of my falcon running down a VL commo on track... he he ill name it ford vs holden on track...should cause some havoc no.. ha ha

  • He is refering to launch control... its basically a WOT box. A wide open throttle box, look em up on Youtube or Google, theyre sick, they make em for Holdens and heaps of other cool cars too.

  • i luv it how peopple fight on youtube

  • Geez another so called intelligent mocker. So you are a smart parrot, still copy my comments but change the words around. Good one, dingbat!

  • i dident copy it did i

  • wow...a holden fan who can string words together into a sentence. fuck me dead, never thought id see the day.

  • mate, get fucked, im a holden fan with 129 iq and higher-than-yo-mamma grades.

  • precisely why im so surprised

  • lol is 129 meant to be high?

  • 129 is superior intelligence.

intelligence is a big word that means

    S-M-A-R-T

  • yep, definitely no more than 129, i can smell your lack of intellect from here

  • Good ol' freshy :D

  • cain098765 are u fukn joking....

  • is it a auto or man

  • tip-tronic man.

  • its a manual man

  • freshwater, i'd recognise that road anywhere

  • you cant really notice the effect in this clip but flat shifting can cause massive spindle for any clutch. I've seen it on a few xrt 5 speed boxes because they are rubbish, terrible clutch for a decent car.

However i know a VX SS 6sp man. thats had it done every race and has loosened the gears up a bit but no major damage.

I personally wouldnt do this without a twinplate, not even exedy heavies could take too much of this business.

  • lol... with the 1200Nm of torque this car is making, the factory clutch was replaced a long time ago, it slipped as soon as you put your foot down... it now runs a custom twin plate...

  • good to see you have a clue, twin plates are the best for racing, got to love 'em!

  • my bro has over 2049 Nm (or 1519 foot pounds if you like old money) and only has a single plate BA racing cermanic cluch. Still love the flat shifting. How did you go about getting it around all the XR6T's computers.

  • 2049Nm of torque? what's he drive a bugatti veyron on ethanol..

  • sorry you are right got miss informed its 451 foot pounds or 1519 lbms or something my bad still how does that work or is this the FG and have something new that the ba/bfs dont have

  • its a 2 step spark cut revlimiter cut into the ground wire on each coil-on-plug. it operates without the XR6T computer knowing its there, so it keeps the TB open, the injectors pumping, and therefore doesnt loose boost. you can see more on 2 step revlimiters here on youtube, mostly on supras etc

  • 1200Nm?!?! XR6`s are fucking monsters! God why don`t we have them in Finland.

  • because in finland youd crash em haha either that or your roads are too small for the aussi beast

  • hey mate.. u on the xr6turboforums?

where can i read up more about this.. i'm actually quite interested in this now..

  • yes, the thread is called 'wanna be able to launch a manual like this' in the drag racing section of the forum.

  • does flat shifting harm your gearbox in anyway ?

  • i have a special rev limiter setup to do this along with launch control... id avoid trying this without it!

  • nice...
