Sorry I made a mistake. The singer not is Lisandro Meza but Rodolfo y su Típica RA7. The author of "La Colegiala" is Walter Leon. It was this Nescafe spot when cumbias started to be known outside Colombia...A lot of countries of Europe and in Africa too posted in the 70s.

This style of music is called "Cumbia". It´s from Colombia, but other countries (Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru)claim for it. The singer is Lisandro Meza, one of the most famous singers from Colombia.

Claro que hay cumbia mexicana, chilena y de otras partes por eso dije que eran diferentes pero la cumbia original es de Colombia. Existe tambien el rock colombiano o la salsa colombiana. Pero si alguien dice que el rock ES colombiano y nacio en Colombia es entonces un ignorante.

@thibu100 Yes my mistake, I searched and found that it was a peruvian song but it was not cumbia. Then it was covered by colombians and turned into one of the most famous cumbias.
