Everyone please watch the movie OLDBOY! It was Cho's favorite movie and he shouted quotes from the movie in the narrow hallways of VA Tech while he took revenge on that day 2 years ago.
After watching that movie you will see that everything in Cho's life, like Richard McBeef came about from that movie. You will also see why he decided to fight so bravely against the Va Tech system on that April Day.
That movie showed me why what he did was necessary for America!!
Before watching your vid, I've read the play by Cho Seung-Hui, and also his second Mr. Brownstone. Sometimes, I cant put aside that they had their qualities to them. Mr. Brownstone, had something in it, that was very unique, while Richard McBeef, was like the darker side of the dysfunctionnal family.
In a way, Seung-Hui came close to something of an American Marquis de Sade, very incisive and very chilling.
You're welcome. Both performances outstanding, but most riveting was John's performance. Chillingly real. Captured the essence of the mind of a killer. Granted, a killer with a very, uh, atypical narrative.
Thank you sadperson100. I am very glad i brightened your day. The mainstream media has called this piece part of Cho's "ultraviolent misanthropic writings" . I wanted to show it for what it is, just a silly skit by a very lonely teenage boy.
Yeah his plays are more funny than violent. The media and students overreacted. It isn't really that disturbing when you see the hilarity Cho put into it.
He would've been proud to see this and Richard Mcbeef: The Motion Picture. Two of the best renditions of Mcbeef.
someone explain or demonstrate how the actor portraying the son places his hands on his cheek with his fingers outward and his thumbs next to cheek. Possible if 2 persons below. Person on screen right places their left hand up to son's face screen right, person on screen right places right hand up to face screen left. It is possible for one off screen person to do this by crossing hands. So, the hands are emphasized, another trait. I can't do this, my wrists are normal and do not bend enough.
on the level of violence, Richard McBeef wasn't actually violent, to begin with. It's not like someone got cut with a chainsaw or anything... but I would see it as more of a series of rants against life.
Well directed, but in the end, it feels more like an artistic sort of thing, rather than an actual event. But, then again, I guess that's what you were going for, right? :p Your take on Sue was pretty funny, though. I give this five stars, all for making a crappily-written play actually enjoyable.
ok so the whole calling richard "dick" thing and, for that matter, the whole john character in general, seems to be an exact copy of john bender from the breakfast club. so overall its john bender as hamlet but with a hint of macbeth, since the mom is morally two faced and also because of the title, which is also a mcdonalds reference. Are you a bisexual, psycho, rapist-murderer?? good job guys, it's like the kids in the hall did it themselves. if only cho had watched donnie darko...
BRILLIANT I really liked thae part where she hit him with the shoes ,kind of like in the old movie The Bad Seed. they should get Gilbert Gottfreid to play McBeef. now I must see reel 2
yes remember Leroy" I saw them shoes them ones with the half moon on the heel. The police will find that stick itll turn blue and them stick dogs will find it" how about the mom in that movie Think she hit the booze and pills. and the absent dad...
The drooping lips are exact for many others too. Mcbeef's Roman nose is an excellent nose indeed. This one's Big! it will Top 'em all! Cho's words are, sadly, known to some. This is a great production and electrifying elocution. Actually. No, Really. yes.
I'm glad Richard McBeef has finally gotten its well-deserved screen adaptation. Absolutely loved it. Was a little worried the chainsaw wouldn't make an appearance, but when I realized my fears were to be quelled, I knew I was dealing with a first-rate production.
wow. this is the best version of all the plays of richard mcbeef on youtube.. fantastic stuff, you really made it come to life and it real funny too

I agree, it is no more bizarre or violent than anything you see in the mainstream media, less so than most. On my first read I thought it just silly.
renecalvo 4 years ago
It's mostly incoherent rants.
The only way to actually scare the shit out of someone with a script is if a serial killer wrote it extremely well.

lol. exactly, and mailed it to your agent with a mutilated copy of your head shot.

Yes, but no more terrible or violent than anything you can see on daytime TV.
