But If you think Stephenie Meyer "writes beautifully" all I can think is that you haven't read many books before. Stephenie, IMO, deserves all the crap she gets because she's getting money and fame for something that is just terribly written, has NO plot and, sends a bad message.

I read a couple pages, didn't take me long to say I hated her writing style. So much mundacity that just seems like filler for no reason. Nothing contributes to the settings, nothing contributes to the story except the interactions and the dialoague which seems god-awful the more I read it. Just a inane-babbling of demons, devils, and dark gods evoked.
The story though is all that it has going for it, and it's cute to say the least. Just fix the god-damn writing, it's awful.

I never realized it before, but there's a disturbing amount of similarities between Smeyer and Anne Wilkes from Stephen King's Misery. Both are morbidly obese, are obsessed with Victorian period romance, they over-identify with a fictional character who's a self-centered cocktease, have an immature attitude on swearing (Meyer herself admits to giggling everytime someone says "seminal fluid") and both have caused countless people unbearable suffering.

I really love the stephenie meyer books time will tell if they age well, and am still able to read them in 5 years. Books written by christopher pike and L.J. Smith that i loved years ago i find horrifically bad. truely they are awful, but i still loved the stories and would recommend them, just incase someone else could love them like i did. i think that its worth it if they can be enjoyed.
