Not at that time. At that time of year, the river is not high and not all of the falls are pouring. In fact, I must say that as impressed as I was with what I saw, I can only imagine how massive the full falls must look at the peak of the wet season.

We were there in November. It's definitely a seasonal thing as the water will get too high to even get to the pool at some points.

There is a wall that, when the water is low enough, provides some protection. Our guide even walked along the top of it. A little more water, though, and you'll be trying out for the high dive team, not the swim team.
