But the R32 WASNT cost friendly to tune. Sure you could put an exhaust and intake on it. There wasnt any programs for it for a few years. And if you wanted to put a supercharger on it it was 4-6K and forget turbo charging it. The option was HPA's twin turbo for 25K. It is badass but crazy expensive.
The 1.8T was the ultimate tuner car for VW its not an "R" now the 2.0T is going to take the hat as being the best tuner car for VW.

btw, we'll probably be at le mans in 5 or so years, not to win, but to see how many times we lap the others ^^, (the jet-engine replacement will provide many many newtons of downforce aswell as forward-pointed thrust, so it will be very aerodynamic (even some golf-ball effect (ripples in the body that keep the air to the lines of the car) in the design, that if used right cut the drag by one third)).

if it has to be an engine and car that currently can be bought, then one koenigsegg engine in that insane motorbike-fast car they tested on top-gear a while back (has no body-panels). it would go at as close to warp speed as we can go with fossil fuels ^^

I want the solar-electric car me and my company is developing ;)
current estimates on specs: 750kw divided by 4 wheels and possibly our jet-engine replacement (new solar-technology, keep your eyes open during this summer). we're designing it as we speak, expect a prototype by 2013 (all the technologies work, we just have to design it so that the car has insane amounts of power, we're gonna crush gasoline power ^^, ).

I've already seen:
A MKIV GTI with two VR6's crammed in it.
A Scirocco (not new one) with two bike engines in the rear
A Scirocco (not new one) with two 16v engines (one factory built by VW, another, the DuRocco by Anson, not to mention Alyn's twin is in the works.
Those are pretty high on the list.
Alex R did better this time because he wasn't staying a bunch of stuff he was just making up, as much. Of course, a lot of this episode was about making stuff up, and he excelled there.

I would take an Honda fit and make it and keep the front engine and put a Lamborghini lp650 engine mid mounted and have the front engine send power to the front and the lp650 engine send power to the back, then i would chop the roof and change the back windows with vents to help it cool the engine and also put two turbos on the lp650 engine. Also i would have in black with black tint and black rims and leave the rest stock.
