That freaking old man Papa John Creach certainly added so much personality and charm to the Airplane music. Thank God they had the wisdom to make him a fulltime recording and live member during this period. This was an Airplane period that was so incredible and wonderful. Even Grace was usually in top form but that Papa John Creach -- they way he weaved in and out of their guitars and singing. It was the fuel this Airplane needed to really set them apart from the rest of the rock field.
F$%$K...I forgot how good this stuff is. Tomorrow Igo out and get the necessary equiptment to play it thru my 1975 JBL 4311 studio monitors. You would'nt want to be my neighbour.....or maybe YOU would !!!
This is an era when rock music was actually preformed better than the studio versions, and made it worth your while to go to live concerts. The bands considered it an expense to get notoriety and addressed it that way; playing better jam sessions, not loosing your voice on tour, and not worrying so much about special effects stage antics, it was about the music experience, and it was better live back then.
This was my most favorite JA song and the original was included in the album "Bark" , right ? Thank you very much, I recall my younger days, good times !
To be lifted and carried by their jet stream....undescribable!! I remember this concert well. Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. She wore the same clothes as on the back of the album cover. There was always something going on in my life that correlated with where their music was...so relevant!!
I haven't heard this glorious anthem in many years, thanks for making it available. I've been kind of surprised somebody hasn't been using it to advertise earthquakes on TV. Yet.

This is becoming one of my favorite JA songs. One their best in the post-Balin era of the band.

the vocals are straight from heaven. David Freiberg does an excellent job.
And when Grace hits that final "When the earth moves again", I have to have a soft pillow to collapse on.

@nyr1979 Papa John SAWS! I LOVE what he brought to this already epic band.
John and Grace were genuine originals and they worked so well together

In golden Hannibal Carthage days, marching on to Rome,
Knocking on the door and finding nobody home there.
Rome she cut our armies down and left them in the snow,
So now I go to where I come from,
Now I go home to the sun.
When the earth moves again,
When the earth moves again my friend,
Let the lady ride on through,
When the earth moves again.
