Yes, this is a waste of taxpayer money. Why does a presidential motorcade consist of 25-40 cars is beyond me. I say a set of 10-15 cars is enough. Besides, the president's limo is armor-plated and mine proof so that no firearm, with the possible exception of a cannon, can ever penetrate the armor and its bulletproof glass windows.
And the crazy thing is that the president wasn't in that limo.u wouldn't even be able to get that close without being arrested and ur camera being taken away

What you don't see are the plain clothes SS agents, snipers along the route, and a whole lot of other forms of protection. Like an iceberg, only 10% is visable. The flashing lights and black tinted Suburbans are just eye candy for the media.

The motorcycles are there in case "something" happens. They are more agile and faster to get to intersections to re-direct obstructive traffic in case he needs to be hurried away to a hospital, plane, etc...
