I am an activist for the gay community in Australia. I fight for the rights of gay youth each and every day. i am in support of the freedom to love, the freedom to express feeling and emotion. It is my personal belief that the DADT law should be overturned in both America and the country I call home, Australia. I recently left the military and think that I have a pretty good understanding of why gays aren't allowed in the military. It's a matter of logistics. Where do you house a gay service member? If a gay man can shower with straight men than I want to shower and sleep with the women.

I don't see the point in not letting gays serve openly. Especially when they are willing to DIE for their country!!!! @jjrants Um, people who are severely physically disabled are unable to fight in combat zones (though, from my knowledge, would be allowed to work in the army as, say, tech support etc) this isn't due to discrimination but due to the fact that they physically are unable to. As for your other point, conduct that angers others? Thats the other peoples problem not theres. GLBT is legal, safe and acceptable conduct so why should being 'out' affect anything?

It would seem a little hard to fight camel-jockeys from a wheelchair. And no I'm not anti-gay. I recently left the military and think that I have a pretty good understanding of why gays aren't allowed in the military. It's a matter of logistics. Where do you house a gay service member? With a straight man? No. With a gay man? No. Where do they shower? These are matters of logistics. The military can't afford to privately house and provide individual bathroom facilities for them. If a gay man can shower with straight men than I want to shower and sleep with the women.

I believe females shouldn't serve in the military. Gays, lesbians and female could be great Civil Service support, but not active military in war zones.

She's using the fame and power she has to help and spread word that these things matter. I love her for not just being another ditzy popstar. She's smart and she knows what she's talking about, more importantly she knows what she believes in.

If she wants to be seen as an intelligent pop star then writing meaningful songs and less de-humanizing music videos playing on TV would be a good start. She rose to fame WAY too fast (that in itself needs to be questioned; it was not due to raw talent alone), has money and influential people backing her up from the start and is all marketing and 'style over substance'.

I just finished reading her book and she got rejected many times by record labels and finally red one and akon realised her talent. If you see her live performances she actually has REAL talent. Her songs always have meaning and they mean something to her which is what matters. Everything she does has further meaning, do your research. x

I am a fan of her abilities as a performance artist and singer - however, it is a shame that she gets pushed into certain directions by her record company (money talks) and her "political activism" does not feel genuine. Just a innate feelin in my case.

Every homosexual person has the right to serve in the military today, just dont tell... Just like every homosexual person has the right to get married, they just can't marry someone of the same sex. This is because marriage is between a man and a woman. That being said, you do not have the right to destroy morale in our military. You do not have the right to pervert society. Although I do not agree with homosexuality..this is my belief. If they choose to serve in our military, then the DADT is needed. This goes for straight and gay people. But lady gaa is about a useless piece of trash and somehow makes me feel alot better being a bigot. She looked better with that slap of meat on her head.
