@mumtazmughal that's not so right ... f-22 was not a so scuccesful project after all ... the f-35 was not built only by the US ...( joint from the beginnig ), russian have nothing to fear from the us ... even thought russian aircraft could be worst ... they are more competitve with the cost so the number of production ...the tornado is probably the best multirole fighter built in that generation and for that kind of missions .

Hat Deutschland eigentlich auch Abfang Jets? Der Eurofighter ist doch genau so wie der Tornado eher für Air Strikes geeignet. Scahde dass Deutschland keine 29er Migs mehr besitzt.

Sure F-16 or MiGs would win against a Tornado. Because the Tornado IDS (InterDiction Strike) isn't built for Air-to-Air combat. A Tornado IDS with standard payload just carries 2 Sidewinders for self-defense (if any). It would be possibly shot down long before he's in firing range to an enemy interceptor. That's like I'd say a Eurofighter would win against an A-10.
@Fooly1973 well it gets the IRIS-T with 25km Range, but he although likely is escorted by Eurofighters while real bombing missions or he really tries to fly below enemy SAM radar.

yes but the tornado is especially designed for low level flight and the eurofighter is unfortunately not supercruise able... if he would be, held certainly beat f22!

hes a jet like the american f-12 (i think thats the name from the american fight-jet )
