Flywheel shattered. That why the hood popped up. Flywheel went through transmission casing and hit hood. Common problem with rotaries because flywheels aren't meant to spin that fast for that long. Also it was probly aluminum so thats another reason....

Knaxon it's because your car is running at such a high rpm for 3 minutes straight it just puts strain on your motors and trans and something is bound to let loose cuz he prob does that a lot the piston will just let loose.
