it wasnt rescued because it had shown many signs of illness. ultimately it was put down, and taking into a research center to find out what it had. it's lungs were full of dead tissue and muscus. - this is a very good reason why you shoulnt go up to a wild animal on the beach; and also- make sure you dont allow your dogs to as well.

Any idea why this animal is not being rescued? I work at a Marine Mammal rescue center in California, and have been for the past 14 years now. We would have picked this guy up already if he were on one of our beaches. He is quite clearly very thin and in need of help.

This makes me want to cry to see this. I agree with wleeds9 there should've been animal rescue there to help this poor sea lion :(
