i just got zune hd yestereday, i was impressed in like 5-10 min i learned how to use it completey, i reccomend u buy it if u want perfect mp3/mp4/wmv/wma player and it comes with clear hd radio, and a bunch of other stuff this alone beats the itouch, but i have to admit for the apps itouch still owns, but the rest goes to zune straight up

@dahomiegang YMMV where I live I can't get any of the HD radio stations that are in my area to play on my Zune HD, as far as "perfect" for mp3, no it's not. It's good but it's interface is lacking in some key areas. I own both a Zune HD & a iPod Touch. I like the Touch far more, but that doesn't mean I don't like the Zune. I'm playing with mine right now.

Oh, and the accelerometer changes slower on the iPod/iPhone on purpose. This is for people who text/browse on their side while in their bed so the device doesn't accidentally go into landscape.

Actually, I may be wrong, but I do believe that the faster rotation is due to the better processor/video card in the Zune HD. The entire screen needs to be rendered all over again, and the Zune is quicker at it simply because the hardware is better. I'm sure one or two of the Zune's EIGHT cores is specifically for this.

k enough with the fanboyisms ... the Zune HD is definitely a MS product that needs to get some thumbs up. It's fast to navigate your way around its menus, i have no doubts that audio quality is nice and the screen seems to be really good as well. Wireless sync is a killer! Having said that i'd still choose the ipod touch. Better web experience, a freaking billion apps, native mail app in its OS, push notifications, customizable home page, spotlight etc. But, again, GOOD JOB MICROSOFT! *applause*

Ya for now there is more to do with the touch but hopefully a form of "jailbreaking" will occur for the Zune. People are already creating custom applications but to put it on your device it requires you to download the file and have some software called the XNA Game Studio (I can show people how since I already have put one persons app on, but it kinda makes the device restart when exiting it).
