  • Please learn how to and when to use quickclot and the CAT. the quickclot can be It can be pritty nasty stuff....It is not for the typical minor injury on the trail. It does not look like you made a kit for combat, rather outdoor first aid.You have many items directly from the Military ifak but lacking the knowledge on what they are or how to use them. You could injure someone trying to help! On another note, IFAK's are ment for self aid; make sure you can reach it in the event of a injury.

  • @4:30 Its an NPA (nasopharyngeal airway)

  • @Patriot5401 Make sure you size and put it in the right way! Lube is needed to prevent discomfort and injury to the person receiving the airway. Blood (The patients), saliva (again the patients) and water are excellent chooses outside of the typical small tube they provide. And to the author of the video never use your IFAK for someone else.

  • DUDE an IFAK should be used with mobility in minf and mission specific, you dont want to carry iodine and band aides when you can carry usefull things like OPA's NPA's, hemostats, turniquets, and wound packing material

  • cravats and compressed bandages are NOT Band-Aids!! use some small ziplocs for small loose items like the alcohol preps. lose the bottle of iodine. keep like items together and if you don't know what something is, what good is it to have in your kit. get some training. did you find this kit?! holy shit, dude!

  • I would suggest you take the Emergency First Responder course first before taking the EMT course. You will have a greater chance of passing the EMT course. I passed my EMT course with a 99.1% overall score. My advice is 3 hours of study per day, until you pass the course. Generally there is a 30-40% pass rate per class.

  • that rubber tube is used to open a air way from your nose to throat in case your mouth is jacked up

  • There are smaller QuikClot packets that are avaliable--try First Response or Sport--I think those are small enough. Good vid and good luck with the EMT course--I took an EMR course here (similiar to EMT-B there) and it was fun.

  • Also, the Saline IV pack is for..that..IVs. Make sure you get the right training for those.
