  • does anyone know if you can simply mix 50/50 WVO and regular diesel after filtering WVO of course and put directly into car with out conversion?

  • do u have any experience with centrifuges to clean your oil, the system tht im picturing for my own use would be a sock filter like tht in a high tank and then tht flowing into a centrifuge and into a lower clean tank. I just dont kno anything about centrifuges

  • Any issues running the F250 on SVO I am thinking of buying a 1990 F250 diesel to convert.

  • Thanks for uploading.

I would be concerned about the fire risk associated with your method.

It would be especially risky if someone was heating their oil on a a gas hob.

  • Nice. Thanks for the video, I have always wanted to know how to dewater waste vegetable oil. The other videos are very confusing. Thanks for the simple explanation!

  • very nice video

  • Nice thanks for the vid

  • hot water heater unit.. and a couple of pumps.. that's way too much work sir.

  • Thank you so much for this great info!

  • Did he say 5 gallons in 1 quart?? Its worse than I thought... just kidding dude.

Man I don't know if I would want 300 degree anything in my house. I wonder if the landlords know and are okay with it?

  • seth, where can i buy the 1 micron sock filter?

did you have to alter the top of the blue barrel to accomodate the filter?

  • "it leaked a little" haha

  • if youre hot filtering youre just melting the fat into the main tank

cold filtering is better as it removes more sediment

  • ???????????? a gravity filter removes the same amount whether the oil is hot or cold. and im not sure what you mean by fat. cold filtering into a gravity bag is so slow its not even worth the time.

  • high heat alters some of the particles in your oil, either lowering the micron rating and/or making them soft or pliable enough to slip through.

If its so cold that your oil becomes solid then you should only heat it until it reverts to a liquid again.

either that, or buy lots of fuel filters

  • @riegirrl About your comment - are you saying if I used ths homemade method that I shouldn't heat it that high? thanks

  • @sethgiffin0 hey Seth, nice simple system. However most of the research I have done has come to the same conclusion. If this is Waste Oil then It will have Fats in it. the Fats congeal at a higher temp than the oil. The hotter you get the oil the thinner the fat in the oil gets and allows it to pass through your filtration system. Then as it sits in your car the fats get thick again and can cause unwanted congealing in your fuel lines. This can cause your lines to clog.

  • " i tryed to make my own.. and it didnt work well"

  • awesome video man... thanx!

what kind of car do you use it it? is your engine converted or stock?

  • Its a converted F250, I wouldn't suggest putting wvo in stock engine.

  • From what i understand you can put wvo into a stock diesel motor as long as it has a pre heating system for the oil. What have you done to the motor?

  • the heating system is what i meant. i have done nothing to the engine itself.

  • then you are using a two tank system then correct?

  • Respectfully I say:

Suggest U consider always keeping your plastic cube jug in the box. If U don't, one day you will wish U did n even more so since you are in your apartment.

I run a Jet with a GC kit going on 4 years this year......

  • I'm wondering how you cope with cold weather starts from your apartment? Do you have a newer diesel that doesn't need a block heater? I'm trying to figure out how to keep my mercedes diesel warm enough to start when I am unable to plug in.

  • The oil you start out with looks new. The stuff in the restaurants around here looks more like mud before AND after filtering. Did you get a free new cubie or WHAT?

  • I am lucky to have found a restaurant that changes their oil every three days even if it doesn't need it. Although I am moving out of state next month and will proably have to use the black stuff again.

  • Good job! Proof of the old adage, where there's a will there's a way.
