Actually they were. At 2:22 you can see that Yao had his feet set. He did back up just before impact, IMO. Even if his feet were moving when the impact happened it was minimal at best.

The biggest part of that play was Kobe initiating the contact by dropping his head. It's not like Yao just jumped out at him hoping to draw the charge.

Its a pretty ez to see that Kobe was not in control on that play.

Rockets stole Game 1 and I had them winning it. But I think L.A's gonna come back in the next game and tie the series up 1-1. It's gonna go seven games. Don't sleep on Houston, they are tough, like they just proved it to themselves last night. I would be surprised if the Rockets beat the Lakers in the Semi-Finals and eliminate them. I want the Rockets to beat the Lakers, but I think L.A is gonna win in like 7 games.
