I see in some of your videos you use the Bosch power tools. Do you recommend a drill/driver that will drive down screws that are very stubborn, almost impossible to turn by hand? I just bought a New Makita with a Li-Ion battery. Not doing this job well.
Dear Mr. Carter I plan to install kitchen cabinets in my kitchen that is 10x10. It's a very small kitchen. I know nothing about drill. I follow your videos and thought I'd ask you if I 12V drill would do the job. I will not be using the drill that often. Maybe once in 6 months the most. Do I really need to spend $100 on a drill that I'll use just to install the 10x10 kitchen once? Or can I get away with buying something less expensive drill like Craftmaster or Black&Decker?
Be sure to define power. If you mean unlimited power so long as there is electricity, Yes. If you mean torque, there are cordless drills with more torque than a corded model.
Very true but the cordless battery dies down and it looses torque so the cordless might have more torque but it looses torque over time but both are very good for different uses
Tim: I just found your videos on YouTube. Right now I am working on a basement bar. I got some great information from you on the web regarding dementions etc.... Thanks for posting these. You are awesome!
It comes very close. The only thing a cordless drill lacks is the sensitive clutch and depth-setting feature. The point is that you can use a screw gun to drive screws. Most come with bits as part of the tool. Is a cordless drill the perfect tool to drive screws? Of course not, but it can work in a pinch. What's more, not all people can afford to have both tools.
The on-location director was trying to makeup for my miserable Mexican accent and lack of a sombrero. We were simply trying to have some fun as those segments are supposed to be both entertaining and informative.
You strike me as an informative guy with good info. I wonder if the entertainment angle might just get in the way of that info. I literally wondered for a while why you were wearing Grandma's shawl. It didn't dawn on me that it was Mexican...maybe I'm thick. Can u do a vid on different saw blades and their uses? thanks
can you imagine that those thing draw like 10amp+++ when they use full torque.
worst thing is that 3/4 of the time they dont sell spare battery.

You can get a less expensive one for one-job use. I'm sure the drill will not burn up on this small job.

You are most welcome. If possible, help spread the word to others that the videos are here to be watched by all.

How about a video on "impact drivers?"
I've been using Makita 9.6V for 20 years, I find they're not as bulky. But Bosch makes some fine tools.

It's on the list to do.
