Then look at all of the other tests where they shoot them, break them, crush them and they still continue to work. Plenty of "More Relevant" tests out there.
I can see they are tough, and work well. but who the hell is going to run over their mags? seriously. i dont get it. This isnt a proper test. try throwing sand, dirt, mud, the realistic type things that will happen to it, not running it over with a truck....
@beardeddragon0 Scars, ACR, and some other weapons use it that dont have a huge problem with it. but this isnt a very realistic. who would forget they put their mag under their truck?
@TapRackBoom There's been reports of magazines and rifles falling out of trucks in Iraq and being runover by 2 Ton Humvee's, these people are showing realistic worst case scenario!
@IMFDB And they stopped and pulled over for the mag? and i wouldnt trust any rifle, even an AK if it just got ran over by a truck. Im not trolling. Im just saying, if a mag that was issued to me fell out of the vehicle i was in. im sure as hell not going to risk my team mates lives to go pick up something i can get back at base.
@TapRackBoom I'm just giving you a scenario, it's not so unrealistic if you think about it. It gives you a classification system of what products are truly mil-spec.
@IMFDB USGI mags are mil-spec. They are meant to be cheap, easy to produce and made by the lowest bidder. Magpul exceeds most of that. Most militaries have a fettish for things metal. I dont see myself dropping my mags when mounted in my soon to be Buffalo, its not that i dont see the point in making a mag that strong. its that i dont see the relevance of the test. A standard truck isnt a 6 ton up armored HMMWV. A drop test or slam test would be more accurate i think.( or using a HMMWV)
@Lilatl you can use 5.56 mags for 6.8 rounds it's no problem at all. I thought I had to buy new mags for my 6.8 but I was told I didn't and so I've been using the same mags it's fine. You just can't fit as many rounds.
My #1 problem with AR mags is when they get squeezed and won't feed the rounds. Happens more than you think. If you can run the mag over with a 1,000 pound weight 4,000lb truck / 4 tires) and it'll still function, That is a great improvement on the design.
What does running over a magazine with a truck have to do with anything? I'll never understand "Torture tests". They are way out of proportion to everyday tactical/military use for magazines or guns. Do something practical....It's not a truck is gonna run over my magazine during an emergency. Try sand/dirt tests, drop it on concrete, or stress the spring and try firing it....
@SwineNahNah the rounds inside actually bend and become malformed. so swap them out as soon as you can. funny how a plastic mag is more resilient than the rounds its made to carry.
i just ordered two Magpul PMAG w/ MagLevel magazines today!
ALSO!! the airsoft market/culture really irritate me! nearly every time i go parts hunting online (for new, niche, obscure, etc parts), i feel like i'm looking for a needle in a haystack! hmmm...how can i clarify this...oh, i know...Ricers are to Tuners as Airsofts are to Firearms.
Great test, reaffirms my loyalty to your brand. I only use magpul products on my AR15; I have an MOE stock set, MBUS sights, and shoot all of my ammo through pmags. Keep up the good work!
Of course the USGI mag (the one i got for free from the military) Fails every test! lol. just my luck... I hope I don't get into a fire fight with a Chevy pick up.
What the hell are you talking about, lol. That nowhere near an ACR. Its an M4. The charging handle is in the back like on every M4 (not near the front on the side like an ACR) and it has a fixed front sight post instead of full BUIS like the ACR has.
No I can assure you its not a prototype or concept of an ACR. The Masada/ACR has always been made from polymer (same shit as the Pmag) where as the M4/M16s recievers have always been made from 7075-T6 or comparable aircraft aluminum. I can also assure you that its not a concept because the rifle in this video has a direct impingement system and the ACR/Masada uses a gas piston system which is easily identified by the adjustable gas regulator at the front of the handguard.
Oh, also not to mention the charging handle is in the back of the reciever here which the M4/M16s have always had. The Masada/ACR has always had its charging handle towards the front of the handguard. The M4/M16s are the only rifles that have forward assists like the one seen here. So, in short, the charging handle location and forward assist location tells you this is without a doubt an M4.
No way of telling without seeing it, lol. It has so much aftermarket stuff on it that it looks nothing like it did when it came from the factory, lol. All the Magpul guys run the top end stuff though so its safe to say its PROBABLY either a Knights Armament or a Noveske.
I'm not a gun owner yet (don't think a Gamo Big Cat pellet rifle counts as a real gun) but I think I'm falling in love with the M4. After looking at user reviews of different mags, I think I'll order a few of these and never touch the stock mag when I do get it. XD
Interesting, but when was the last time you ran over your mags with a Chevy truck in a firefight?? How about some dirt, sand and round count tests that would resemble a real life situation.
Put some rounds in it, that would increase the structural integrity just a bit If those mags and it that's your your battlefield (empty mags laying about a parking lot you need to retrieve and reuse) you have mad some serious tactical errors. NO, no, I get it; polymer and no welds will 100% make your mag stronger.
If you saw a mini with an AR mag then the mag was definitely manipulated in some manner. There is not a huge difference between the two kinds, but it is enough that they are not interchangeable without doing a little work to them. Can't manipulate a polymer like you can aluminum for steel so PMags are out of the question.
Only if they make one specifically for the mini. AR-15 mags do not fit in Ruger minis without manipulation and you cant do it with a polymer. This is from personal experience.
i laughed at how your hanging out the window while gunning the truck over the mags.... lmao, great test but i dont see the relivence of "combat efectiveness" as a USMC and Iraq war veteran the USGI mags held up amazing to the many many rounds i put down range during firefights... but i guess you can never improve upon too much.... or can you ?

lol no point in even listening to that kid he talks like the U.S. couldnt step over his country in a heartbeat. england is garbage compared to the us, this isnt the 1700s
i know its an ar-15 i was talikin about a brand and model,,,,,,i dont think that that will pass,,,caus the first ban had an experation date and thats why it was passed,,,obamas doesnt,,,and the congress wont let "our right to bear arms infringed" I belive the gun stores are just taking advantage of these people who are gunna pay 3 times the price for an otherwise cheap rifle or high cap. magazine.
Cheaper than dirt is never the place to go for components and accessories. Chest rigs and other shit? Sure. But their prices are a bit high for everything else.
PMags are usually $18 or less. As low as $14 at a few shops and shows I've been to.
I have to echo the others here that like the Magpul. I bought two today and they seem to be extremely well made and look good to boot. Ill know how well they function tomorrow.
No, but don't forget military vehicles (such as humvee's) weigh a lot more than a chevy truck. Check PMAG TEST, it shows a military truck crushing mags like nothing.
I have a shipment of Magpul Pmags 30 rounders arriving toward the end of February (large order). I am taking pre orders, NO deposit required. Payment will not be required till I have the product and I ship it to you.Credit cards are accepted. Just need quantity of mags wanted, name, phone #, and/or email address and its a first come first serve pre order list. $40 per mag, $5 for shipping.Large purchase discount may be available.tutman2006@gmail.comTuttle Security Services L.L.C.248-361-0024
$40!?!?! They sell for $15 when they are in stock and everyone will start receiving orders by February. That's quite a markup. Do you call that the Obama tax?
I just bought a few locally for $19 each. That's an acceptable price when supply is low.
supply and demand. sorry. gotta get them when you can. I can't find them anywhere! when azzhole obama gets his anti gun grabbers in thw white house these babys will be Banned. that means the prices goes up triple or more. will kinda be like unique
Nobody makes an AR 15 mag' better than Magpul. The obvious implication of these tests is that nobody can abuse enough to damage, during normal or extreme usage. I am sure if you shot it with a .223 it would blow up; nobody said it was indestructible. It is just that baddest Ar magazine at any price. The price is 14.95, by the way. H&K's bad boy is 60.00
I am a big P-Mag fan. I had the early run that had some dimensional issues with the tubes. Magpul replaced the tubes free of charge. Now they run flawlessly. These mags are also really easy to take apart for cleaning. This really is a superior product at a very nice price point.
I was always leary when it came to polymer mags. I think it was the cheap ones I had for my Browning Buckmark when I was 13 that scarred me. I picked up a couple and now thats all I buy.
I just got my mags in the mail and I wanted to test a PMAG to see why everyone loved them so much, I am now a PMAG lover.. the feel is much better then USGI mags and they will take a whole lot more then any other mag out there.. I have a few USGI mags with magpul falowers and magpuls that I will keep for backups but I will order some more PMAGS and magpuls for them.. I really cant tell you how good they are, you must use one for yourself.. I cant believe I waited so long..

No I can assure you its not a prototype or concept of an ACR. The Masada/ACR has always been made from polymer (same shit as the Pmag) where as the M4/M16s recievers have always been made from 7075-T6 or comparable aircraft aluminum. I can also assure you that its not a concept because the rifle in this video has a direct impingement system and the ACR/Masada uses a gas piston system which is easily identified by the adjustable gas regulator at the front of the handguard.

i thank its a berrett m468(Rec 7)....correct me if im wrong
Mcblue277 2 years ago
it does look like the rec7
zman6033 2 years ago
Probably just an M4/AR-15 with the SIRS RIS system, which the M468 uses. Either is possible, but Magpul would need a new follower for the 6-8.
UBCSWraith 2 years ago
ya its not a m468 the front sights on the m468 fold this is fixed
zman6033 2 years ago
what grip is that,,,,and i thank that the upper receiver is a dpms a3 flattop(stripped).
Mcblue277 3 years ago
so can anyone tel me the brand or model of the ar15......
Mcblue277 3 years ago
what kind of rifle is that and can i order it online....
Mcblue277 3 years ago
AR-15, and you can try, but they're very hard to find since Obama got inaugurated.
HeadoftheHydra 3 years ago
i know its an ar-15 i was talikin about a brand and model,,,,,,i dont think that that will pass,,,caus the first ban had an experation date and thats why it was passed,,,obamas doesnt,,,and the congress wont let "our right to bear arms infringed" I belive the gun stores are just taking advantage of these people who are gunna pay 3 times the price for an otherwise cheap rifle or high cap. magazine.
Mcblue277 3 years ago
I paid $900 for mine 2 weeks ago. That's normal price.
The ban will be passed, trust me. Dem president and a Demo congress. It's getting passed.
HeadoftheHydra 3 years ago
I'm not going to say it WON'T happen but Im not going to say its going to.
The government has bigger fish to fry right now..
That being said I bought myself a mini-14 and a bunch of 30 rounders just in case.

I'm not saying P-mags aren't the most durable mags available, but does a magazine really NEED to be able to survive getting run over by a truck?
Think about it.
PanzerMK7 3 years ago
Yes.
stupidburp 3 years ago 4
I would hope they would have more than one Pmag. Unless they are uber gerhtarded they would have at least 5.
xXRichardMeisterXX 3 years ago
You wouldn't say that if you life depends on your magazine working
Zervaman 3 years ago
Oh ahahahaha, that's so funny, implying that I'm some range ninja, I literally laughed out loud when I read that, bravo good sir.
It's a bit of an inside joke I suppose, but still, thanks for the laugh.

Ill know how well they function tomorrow.

rob1516. The test was to show strength of design. Don't know why it's so hard for you to understand that.
And you know what's REALLY annoying?
Haters.

Yeah.....because 99% of the time, a truck comes out of nowhere and runs over your magazine.
What a crock. Pmags are annoying.
rob1516 3 years ago
No, but don't forget military vehicles (such as humvee's) weigh a lot more than a chevy truck. Check PMAG TEST, it shows a military truck crushing mags like nothing.

i got 2 pmag, plus 793 rounds of 223, a sim for a .40 glock, a 3poiint sling, and 153 rounds of .40 all for 20 dollars

tutman2006 3 years ago
$40!?!?! They sell for $15 when they are in stock and everyone will start receiving orders by February. That's quite a markup. Do you call that the Obama tax?
I just bought a few locally for $19 each. That's an acceptable price when supply is low.
dbphotos 3 years ago
supply and demand. sorry. gotta get them when you can. I can't find them anywhere! when azzhole obama gets his anti gun grabbers in thw white house these babys will be Banned. that means the prices goes up triple or more. will kinda be like unique
tutman2006 3 years ago
Nobody makes an AR 15 mag' better than Magpul. The obvious implication of these tests is that nobody can abuse enough to damage, during normal or extreme usage. I am sure if you shot it with a .223 it would blow up; nobody said it was indestructible. It is just that baddest Ar magazine at any price. The price is 14.95, by the way. H&K's bad boy is 60.00
Make sense now?
NarfBirkenstock 3 years ago
Ok, now lets see how they hold up to a real truck, Bring on the Super Duty haha
redneck1314 3 years ago
Good test if you are looking for a wheel chock, would rather see functioning testing, as I tend to use magazine for shooting, not speed bumps.

Please see our youtube channel for extensive live fire videos with the PMags including some through a M249 SAW

I have a bunch of USGI mags and like them but I just ordered 5 p mags to try. I am going to sip the pmag cool-aid.
