trying to figure out how to post here, this song has been my roots years. i want to play it for my honey and now i think i have a start, thank you so very much
@oldbluegrasskurt Wow, you're on top of things! Yes, most definitely, this is the tune to "Mother's Not Dead," with different lyrics. Thanks for stopping by!
I feel like I am breakin in on a private conversation here, as y'all know one another quite well which is clear, but I must ask - is any of what y'all are speaking of going to be released on CD or DVD an if so where I could get a copy. By the way, Dwight is a fantastic singer -is his CD bluegrass?
Sharon, does anybody else have a copy of the 1978 Bean Blossom Festival with Keith and Ralph? I just found it the other day; it has Keith singing "Sweet Baby James" on it.
Wow, that's cool, Jeff! I don't know of anyone who has a copy, either on video or audio. What I have from 1978 is their live shows on audio from Stuart, VA and from the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA (THAT is a great show!) I'll put some feelers out there and see. How did you find yours?
Thanks Sharon , Dwight is such a wonderful person and so very talented, The Whitley's make me feel like iam family. Thanks Jim, iam very happy you enjoyed this video
Thanks so much, Dennis. It makes me long to hear new material from Dwight. I called him a couple nights ago, but he was in bed. He was pulling out at 2 am for Charleston, and Flo was packing him a cooler full of food to take with him, so I talked to her. I sure wish he'd get rid of that truck and start singing again.
This is so cool to see Sharon. Thanks goes out to Cherrie for letting you post this special video. I grew up listening to this type of music as it was one of mom's favorites! Dwight has a great voice and to see this is fantastic.
Thanks, Jim. Isn't this great? She gave me this video on Labor Day when I visited her, along with a bunch of other stuff. She feeds my habit, and Flo and Dwight feeds hers. I guess Mike's waiting to be fed now. (LOL) I'm glad it brought back happy memories for you.
I just saw him on Labor Day weekend (see my video for the 2008 Keith Whitley Fan Gathering in Sandy Hook). He spent more time with us than I thought he would. I was really glad to see him again. He's keeping busy. He works really strange hours. But every once in a while, he gets depressed and really misses John and Randy and Keith, as you can imagine.

No, there are no plans to release any of the concerts that were mentioned. Dwight has released 2 country CD's, one in 1995 and the last one in 2000.

It was given to me along with much of Keith's other really rare stuff when I was working on "Mirrors".
