I just realized how much you need to know to be a Ron Paul supporter after listening to this... Great job explaining it common sense helps! If the mainstream media didn't block him out maybe people would understand this too!
Returning property rights is a great idea but your argument that environmental protection can be solved in this manner is just wrong for some very important reasons. The most important reason you and Ron Paul seem to be ignoring something extremely important. If a corporation pollutes an aquifer there is no way to repair the damage. Corporations don't give a shit about you or me, they only care about profits. I have more to say and will do so in my next comment.
I support most of Ron Paul's ideologies. Question is: how is he going to achieve those? Some seem to have plans laid out, but not all of them. And with the voting system for the people in congress and the house of representatives being questionable, I fear there will be a lot of unreasonable opposition if he makes it into office.
There will probably have to be a transition period too. And seeing as newly elected presidents always end up inheriting what has been left by the previ
@pgdevil Because of the reinvestment, innovation, and efficiency only possible in a free market. Technology has generally been an unregulated and non-subsidized industry, and it has flourished with incredibly products/services with consistently lower prices.
@pgdevil My Mac is 11 years old. It is a G4 Quicksilver. I have upgraded it as faster chip sets became available. It is as fast as I need. I don't experience problems streaming video. The only thing this machine cannot do efficiently is video editing. The question of why PC's are faster now is more of a problem with your choice of operating system than anything. Macs have always been faster and more stable than anything Microsoft has ever devised. You get what you pay for.
The simplicity of Ron Paul's Liberty, Property ownership, and Personal freedom is beyond this dumbed down society. I have been donating but I don't think he is going to get the nom. People hear "legalize Heroin" and they freak out. What they don't get is States would most likely not legalize it. Furthermore, Milton Friedman was for the legalization of all drugs for several good reasons. I fear I will have to hold my nose and vote for the next best.
@ConservativeLogic There is no next best from either side of the one party we have. They have different names but they all have the same owners with a few exceptions. I agree with you about Heroin/Cocaine/Marijuana etc. All anyone has to do is look at The Netherlands. They decriminalized Heroin and the usage went up for a very short time and then went way down. Dr. Paul has lots of good ideas but he has lots of bad ideas too. The bad ideas are unacceptable.
I have never understood how people don't get that if your government can say 'this person may not have a gun', that at that moment it is no longer a "right", but a privilege by definition
the second amendment does not say anything about limiting this inalienable right, only that it should not be infringed... gun laws do not work, their only end is to bring about unstoppable government power.
@pete2314 So basically, everyone would be so much better off if we all were the same is what you are saying. To not acknowledge the physiological and work-applicable differences between different cultures is exceptionally ignorant. America is comprised of so many different races as it is. Obviously the majority of us are Caucasian, but we came from more than just England. We are already rather diverse and it has worked out rather well considering I am typing this to you as a 17 year old ;)
The question at 9:35 -- he wants 0% income tax--which most poor people are already paying-- but he wants to remove EITC. That's why the question is valid.
I guess my biggest disagreement with your position of affirmative action is that you don't really realize that Whites will never be the ones who are discriminated against. We (whites) are truly in power. We have control over everything already. Affirmative action is encouragement of minorities to gain power. Diversity is indeed a very important thing in any workplace or just anywhere. Although I do not believe that government should regulate who hires who, but rather attacks the roots of racism.
@chaoticoli09 waaaiiiitt, I know plenty of people that discriminate against whites, you have racists in all races, I live in a place where I get discriminated against for being white all the time, I think your just subject to the False Consensus Effect
@chaoticoli09 Ak... My country, Denmark, has been importing foreigners since the 60's and since then our crime rates have exploded 600 %, while the population number stayed the same, and we trust each other less on average. Less "diverse" countries such as South Korea and Japan have prospered since WW2 and studies indicate that homogenous countries do better than diverse ones. If you truly want to live in a diverse country I suggest you move to Yugoslavia. It certainly worked well for them.
@chaoticoli09 The moment you give the Government power to go against "what is bad for people to believe" then watch out. Today it's racism, tomorrow religion, the next day protesting the government, etc. You cannot attack the roots of a belief. You have to accept what people believe and if it is not what is in line with your belief then you avoid them. It is the morality of the people, not some armed goon hired to spread your personal belief through force, that is the answer.
I love RP and I will be voting for him but I'm a bit a concerned about the whole "freedom of businesses to discriminate" thing, because I know for a fact that in certain areas of the country businesses might even benefit from having "no blacks" type signs. It's the 21st century, true, but some of the country is still living in the 19th.
At the point where a whole neighborhood potentially goes "no blacks", aren't they infringing on black people's liberty?
@IcyScythe I should also add that I prefer the traditional British approach to this... No person/business who operates in public eg a store, bank, bar etc can discriminate against anyone... you have to deal with each person to a basis minimum standard (in accordance with what is acceptable in that society).
Property rights are very important but human rights are more important IMO
IMPOSSIBLE to hate anybody since that is group thinking. Paulites believe in the INDIVIDUAL and NOT in collective reasoning or to give any special benefits to one group over another.
Actually Ron Paul does purchase the Congressional Insurance but with the highest deductible and mostly for Major Medical. Far as we know he pays it on his own. Would have to do research on that.
When you were talking about affirmative action you were spot on as far as the market response, just wanted to point out that you said there would be "'bans' on a product" when I'm sure what you meant to say was 'boycotts.'
Ron Paul passionately excoriates preemptive war doctrine - wants the US out of the UN - wants the elimination of the Federal Reserve - resists the globalist agenda - Objects to US forces occupying over 100 countries - calls for an end to unnecessary foreign aid - Supports the right to keep and bear arms, homeschooling, and the Sanctity of Life Act. He's the CHAMPION of the CONSTITUTION who has my vote! I sent MONEY!
Nice!

Australia has half your unemployment - and a set minimum wage. So that theory of no minimum wage is FAIL. Sorry.
