  • recommend the best websites to buy from atm?

  • cop: so do you have any enemies, anyone that has a motive, anybody that knows you stash thousands of dollars in bullion under your mattress?

    "uuhhhh"

  • @levelninetroll What kind of moron would stash all this under a mattress? I put it on display next to my front window!

  • @jadcott dosn't matter where you put it now, 16483 people know you have it

  • oh man. youve got a chunk load of coins. how about giving me one?? haha

  • My precious!

  • question!

should i cash my IRA and invest it all in precious metals? There is no point in holding that money in the IRA cause dollar will collapse and I will lose all my years worked.

i rather cash it and i will make more than all the taxes and penalized money the feds take from me?

  • Rythm2007 depending on what coins you want to buy i suggest getting a type of "red book" from your library. Also just do sone generic searches online and read what other collectors have to say. As for buying, apmex is a good place for bullion and pawn shops are a good place to get discounted silver or collectable coins. Ebay is nice too but you need to do your research before you buy from online.

  • I HAVE A NICE HOLE IN THE BACK YARD YOU CAN STORE THAT IN

  • U must have alot of money to buy all those coins in 1 year.

  • Nice Collection mate, check mine out...

    Keep Stacking!

  • PIRATE!!!!!

  • Great video. Jaw dropping! How much do you think you've spent in pounds on them and where's a good place to start collecting?

  • Anyone know where is guy lives?

  • Will ya take a nice crisp hundred trillion dollar bill for that pile of old scratched up gold and tarnished silver?

  • Now sort that mess out!

  • I suggest everyone invests in silver and gold seeing how soon it shall rise by atleast 400%. I don't want to be a broken record but usa is in such debt that they can't even pay the interest on it so they will print more money than the legal amount making the us dollar go down, so in 10 years investing in silver and gold may be the smarter choice.

  • Now thats real money!

  • Am just getting into coin collecting, I started again last week for a hobby, but am really interested in collecting 1oz silver bullion for futur investment. Whats the best way/or place to buy from. Can you buy direct from the mints or do they have traders?. Also I see alot of old silver coins for sale on ebay, are they actually made from silver or have any value these days or are they just describing there colour. Do you have any advice for beginner colleteros/investors. Cheers ;)

  • You were well ahead of the game. Well do ne mate :-) Ive only been buying since Oct '10 but Ive managed to accumulate a substantial amount. I only wish I knew about it sooner. Once silver goes past £20 spot price thats it for me, no more. Today I picked up 20 Silver Britannia's.

  • impressive, especially the gold part

  • Excellent Video. I like the," And Oh Uh,.. here we have another 250 of these and wiat a few more of..."

I would love to do that some day in front of a group of friends - as much I as I should hate to admit it.. I don't know if i could keep the straight face and 'hum-drum just another day' voice going past dumping that first tray.

I love it. However I am laughing with envy. Just one question, if you don't mind me asking. What is it you do for a living? I mean besides investing in coins?

  • hey man, where do you live??

  • you're like scrooge mcduck.

  • ahh you lucky litte crap!!! haha I have done the same and have watched silver skyrocket!!!!!!!!!

  • U will b glad u did this in twenty yrs time

  • NICE STASH!

  • BRAVO !! This is what I aspire to do. But I buy more silver than gold for obvious reasons. Really enjoyed the show....Thanks.....

  • smart man

  • Great video,

where would you say is the best play to buy pre 1920/1947 British coins?

  • @whenthestormbrakes Well it used to be ebay, but things have changed now. People have twigged what a good deal it was.

Last year when I made this vid, I was buying pre 47 stuff at an average of £6.80/oz (40% under spot), I looked yesterday and it was going for £12-13 (10% under).

You *might* be able to strike a deal with a local antiques dealer to buy at a set percentage under spot whenever they get hold of some. It's the type of thing to sometimes pop up in house clearance auctions, etc.

  • @jadcott

    Thanks,

I'm just starting out, buying silver as bullion although I have been coin collecting for some years. For the most part, I have a look around the carboots and such, sometimes you drop on a good deal, but they are few and far between.

So may have to be ebay after all, I have thought about taking out an ad in the local paper, but that would be pricy, with no guarantee of any return.

Good thoughts on the local antiques dealer, that may be worth a try.

  • @whenthestormbrakes At the 1920/1947 British Coin Shop.

  • I threw up in my mouth when you poured that junk silver on top of the Soveriens.

  • @truerange I should mention that no coins were significantly harmed during the making of this video. They either have zero numismatic value to begin with, or are in plastic cases.

Besides, the sovereigns went on last.

  • wow nice collection

  • Nice collection. Check out my Japanese silver medallion from the Osaka mint. Silver eastern porn on my channel

  • I live in the US and I love sovereigns and Brittannias.

    I like this video

  • .925 silver content coins are construed as "sterling silver"??? Are you interested in buying or getting a 50 peso Mexican gold piece. Personally I feel those coins are superbly iconic in all facets of investing as well collecting!!! They also make a GREAT show piece and certainly even more as a coin pendant piece!!!

  • Nice Stash! :) Cheers....Keep on Stacking !

  • Okay, Are you trying to make me jealous ?

    Cuz it's working. :-P

  • Holy S**t

  • what is your address, and when do you go to work? hahahahha! Very nice collection. Make sure you protect it. somebody will want all of that.

  • What was your address?

  • What was your address? LOL.

  • hay im a young coin collector is there any way i could buy some coins from you?

  • Show and tell is popular even after kindergarten!

    Congrats to your collection.

  • Very nice haul mate for just 2 years! A very nice next egg in cash the SHTF or else a great future investment.

    GRATZ!

  • @jimbob77784 Debt is slavery and we are the largest debtor nation, therefore we are slaves...

  • @jimbob77784 We are not going back to a gold standard, I have seen freedom to fascism, several times, and the writer thinks we need to go back to the gold standard but not the FED chairmen or any politician, with the exception of Ron Paul. If the gold standard comes back, it will become illegal to own it. Your collection will be seized and your rights violated. We don't want that again it was criminal the first time...

  • I'm not a conspiracy nut. This is how it actually works. The countries that have invested have a right to protect there investment. So they place troops there. It is war, just not full scale. Now the " white knights" are a group working for the common good there with nesara. Check out my videos

  • America is a corporation "united states" as opposed to the united states of America. Obama works for the united states. If you think I'm making it up then your totally lost. He has to give up citizenship in order to serve the foriegn interests that are heavily invested in America. That's why all the foriegn troops are building up there

  • Britian banksters are at commercial war with America. NESARA is a long running initiative to restore the gold standard my not so bright but cheeky friend. When America won it's independence from England, they made a constitution that stated only gold and silver is legal tender. But they spent it on the war so they went back and borrowed from england

  • Thanks, I workout. When you get a real silver collection, subscribe to me and I'll subscribe to you,AND I'll be your best friend. I know your thinking I'm a wide eyed idealist with too many dreams. The whole system is changing. As long as America is using fiat, they cannot pay there debt to british bankers

  • What is the (face vale) of gold to silver ratio on the british minted coins?

    50:1 American Eagle

    50:5 Canadian

    100:10 China

    ?

  • @pgm98387 1oz Britannias are 100:2

There is no equivalent silver coin to a gold sovereign.

  • @pgm98387 100:10 is 10:1

  • @pgm98387 gold silver ratio means nothing, remember historic ratios are not a parameter anymore.in past times there was not a comparable consumption of silver as we have today.that is why silver ratio with gold will be 1:1 in the coming years

  • wish i had all those aus. perth mint coins.

  • NESARA. Search for it. Subscribe to me. Watch my silver videos please. Too much valuable info to discuss. The world is changing

  • holy crap nice collection man!

  • EXACTLY. China would dump USD.

  • how much would a collection like that cost some one? ballpark..

  • Where do you buy your silver bullion?

  • Where on earth did he get all those British coins?

I've been wanting to buy some but they are often way over priced for their silver content, collectors ramp up the price just because they are a certain date or quality.

The US seems spoiled for choice when it comes to junk silver and bullion, I'm having to fight for the odd reasonably priced coin or two on Ebay.

  • Keep on stacking brother!

  • I have just started buying silver, I am not buying with the intention of selling for more FIAT currency, ever. I am buying to accumulate genuine wealth in a future world without Fractional reserve banking and FIAT currency. The uprising is comin folks! Peace.

  • Peace INDEED! This is wealth as we have known it for thousands of years. When it comes to buying my residence - I will essentially be paying for it with my silver. I'd say that by the time I'm ready to buy it.. it will not take much of my silver bullion pile to get my hands on a VERY NICE house and piece of land.

Remember everyone - Silver has got a lot more growth to be had than gold. So don't spend all your pennies on gold if you want greater GROWTH.

  • Actually the Fed has decided to go back to a gold standard. This is the latest news. The powers that be won't let the world crash. They spent too much time taking control. Check out my silver vids!

  • Um... I think if that were remotely true, the markets would have picked up on it.

Unexpectedly reverting to a gold standard would cause an immediate credit contraction, the dollar would strengthen and stock markets would fall. The lack of liquidity would cause another round of banking collapses and bailouts would be impossible.

A gold standard probably wont happen again for a very long time.

  • @julianmck This is the funnies comment I have ever read on a bullion vid. Just hilarious...

  • At least you've got your shit together. =-)

Very nice video. When it all comes crashing down and the fiat experiment fails - you'll be sitting pretty. If only we could eat silver and gold as well.

  • mmmm, might have to get some of those posh sovereigns and Britannia's ;) good stuff, I bet you had a job getting them back into their rightful containers after the vid, lol.

  • I've just started investing in silver (like, today). I don't have a quarter of what you have, though, so it seems I'm really far behind in the times :-/

You have a nice collection though, that's awesome

  • Most of those coins I have never seen.....

  • Every coin there other than a Brittania and a Sovereign you will have to pay CGT on when you come to sell. I just do not see the point in buying anything but coins that are CGT free. I wish you all the best though. You have the right idea.

  • I wont have to pay CGT on 'crown design' threepences either, but I do fully agree with you. I go into the issue of CGT in the comments of my other video.

The reason I'm relatively overweight in British gold coins is the CGT issue. And the reason I am overweight in junk silver coins opposed to bullion grade silver is largely because its comparative cheapness now should more than counteract the negative effect of CGT (according to my calculations anyway).

  • Interesting... I heard somewhere that a UK shilling used to be the price of a sheep. A ewe is now priced at something like $US 100. Draw your own inferences. =^[.]^=

  • interesting you seem to be more heavily weighted in gold most people on here semm to have about 80 percent gold 20 percent silver. whats your game plan??

  • I also only have coins, no bars. And also prefer low purity silver to .999 stuff... both unusual in youtube land.

I've responded about the silver vs gold in my other vid, but essentially the game plan is:

    gold = savings;

    bullion grade silver = just in case I'm wrong on gold (I don't think I am);

junk silver = trading tokens in case shit really hits the fan and there's a run on the pound.

  • @jadcott

I dont think you are wrong on gold either a bet on gold is a safe bet. when the dollar and the pound finally go you will be in a very good positon the UK rpi and cpi figures came out a few days back and its not looking good and the BOE are continiuing the QE programme int rates will continue to remain low

  • when the likes of the Rothschild and the royal family invest in gold you k now its a safe bet ;)

  • That is an amazing collection of coins.

  • For the long term, your best investment is the Morgan and Peace dollars.

Not only can you make a good return on the melt value of silver. You can also make money Numismaticly.

    Happy Hording !!

  • damn jack sparrow, send some of that my way. haha5/5

  • Great vid, jadcott!

I got a question: Which .999 gold coin would be the best choice if one prefers to store and handle his gold coins without plastic protection? I heard that the Maple Leafs are easily damaged. I don't really like the "redish" 22 karat coins.

  • Given the malleable nature of gold, all .999 coins are going to be equally more susceptible to damage than less pure coins. A Canadian Maple is as easily damaged as a US Buffalo or Austrian Philharmoniker.

The reddish colour comes from the copper alloy used in some 22ct coins like Krugerrands and sovereigns, but different 22ct coins will use different alloys - Britannias and US Eagles for example use silver as an alloy and so the colour is only a slightly lighter yellow than pure gold.

  • do you realise that you are investin in real money?

  • UK florins (post 1920) have the same silver content as US quarters (pre1964). So a quarter dollar equals two shillings, four sixpences or eight threepences. A US half dollar equals two florins. The half-crown and silver dollars are bit trickier to work out. Useful info I think.

  • I don't know why but I'm not really that keen on coins with cute designs (pandas etc). Much prefer the good old fashioned Eagles/Maples etc. That's just me though. A nice quantity of sovs you have there, I have 36. They're my favourite. Apart from the British Britannia (but I don't own any of those). I am seriously thinking of going all in with my savings and converting it ALL to precious metals. I'm a bit worried about the devaluation of the £. Things could get dire soon. Thanks. CR.

  • Another thing. Where do you get your pre 47/20 coins from? I have bought from ebay before, and I'm happy with what I've received. Check out my metal vid if you like.

  • LOL believe it or not, it was your metal vid that prompted me to put this on youtube in the first place! - it was linked to on a forum I frequent.

I get the junk silver from either hawking ebay for poorly worded listings or being a buyer for local antiques dealers (though I've had to stop this recently due to depleted funds). I don't ever pay more than 75% of spot for it.

  • Really!!! WOW. lol. Well, I'm glad that I was of some service to you.

  • I love watching peoples body language when they are showing off their silver collections. It reminds me of Ali Baba and his thieves negotiating at the bazaar!!

  • Nice collection. But for investment purposes, only buy 999 fine. In years to come, there will be a run on silver. Industry won't want the partial silver, as they have to melt that down. They will only want the pure stuff. Otherwise, nice collection (Just get more 999 fine stuff).

  • I respectfully disagree good sir. They have to melt it down anyway, it's not like a 1oz coin or bar is particularly useful in industrial applications as it is.

The reason anything sub-sterling is not wanted today is the relative cost of separating the silver from the alloy, however if (or indeed when) the price moves much higher it would be economically viable to do so - .375 gold is routinely collected and refined for this reason.

    cont...

  • Basic economics state that when values and/or velocity increase in a market, premiums will trend towards the wholesale price.

Excluding VAT, the 20% premium we pay in the UK on .999 fine silver will drop down, possibly as low as 8%; similarly -30% discounts on .500 silver will move up to maybe -8% discount.

For this reason - amongst others - I believe that impure silver is a much better investment than buying .999 at a premium.

  • you had me at hello! LOL!! nice gold at the end! wow!

  • You know all those vids where teens flaunt their 'wealth' by waving their paper money about?

That was like that ... only a hundred times more awesome since it's REAL MONEY you're showing off.

    :D

    Awesome vid!

  • I am the only 20 something that doing the same with silver bullion. Silver is what I call MONEY.

  • that just might save your skin one day.

  • Nicely done dude . peace from Costa Rica, where there isnt a single gold or silver bar or coin available. it sucks.... these poor people have no recourse for their currency. I am really pissed to hear they want a 30 percent tax on it ! I guess im going to have to find a loop hole . these smarmey pricks want their cut. Not !

  • Sounds like you should hedge your investment in gold with an investment in lead

  • Why on earth did you pile them all up like that for?.. now you'll have to sort them all out again!. Serves you for showing off I guess. Keep on buying, m8, and one day you'll have almost as much silver as me ; )

  • if i had all that ,it would be fun to sort them all out again!LOL i would do it 10 times a day ha! ha!

  • wow

  • Damn, that's a mighty nice pile. Now this is my kinda porn.

When it's all said and done you're gonna be loaded.

  • Loved it,

  • how much will a 1992 1 oz. silver dollar sell for?

  • I don't know for sure. I don't have one, nor do I live in the US where I'd imagine you'd be buying/selling.

However, as far as I'm aware, modern (post 1986) Silver Eagle coins generally go for around 20-25% over spot in the US, which puts it around $21-22 (Current spot price = $17.66).

We pay a higher premium here in the UK, though.

  • Try Coininfo (dot com) which has a page of commonly-traded coin and bullion values based on regularly-updated spot prices. There are also some great news-feeds, and a forum, as well. =^[.]^=

  • there is about 25K worth of shit there wow i only have 1K worth of silver

  • Isn't that such a motivation to get more? :D I started about the same time as him, and stash isn't even close to his. But that's just a energy boost to see how much one could accumulate.

  • LOL.... his silveer is real enough, but the gold is plated....

  • No, it's all genuine.

Sovs and Britannias are .917 and the US buffalo is .999.

  • arnt sovs like 20-30% gold content? I know the buffalo is 99.99.

  • Sovs are 22ct which is 91.66666667% pure (same as Gold Eagles, krugerrands, etc). They use the same mix as the Kruger called "crown gold" which is 11 parts gold to 1 part Copper. :)

  • lol treasure

  • You must have taken about an hour to put that lot back neatly again lol

Great to see Vids like this 5*****

  • I found a guy on ebay who sells direct fit airtites for sovereigns. I had a helluva time finding them, maybe you're in the same boat? its ebay item # 110435176477. He's out of Hong Kong, but I've already received mine and they work great.

  • I'm about to order some of these things, except from a UK seller.

How well does a sov fit in the 22mm case? I've heard it can be a tight fit. (sovereign diameter is officially 22.05mm)

  • I only have 3 sovereigns two from around 1900 and one from 1987. The older ones fit exactly as they should and the 87 was looser but still perfectly acceptable. .05mm is a very tiny measurement, just about the width of a human hair, I wouldn't worry about it.

  • lol "and then another 217 there" DUMP!

the pile getting bigger and bigger made me laugh out loud :D

  • Very nice collection!! Quite wise to have a good selection of both gold and silver. Looks like you're set for the economic crash! :-)

I do have to admit that you made me cringe with dumping all your junk silver on top of your fine silver collection. Personally, I would have been terrified of scratching or denting something.

    Thank you for posting!

  • Thank you for commenting!

All proof coins are encapsulated and so will not come to harm, but this is for all intents and purposes my "polished rocks" collection. My proper numismatic coinage is not featured.

I don't really care if the coins are scratched, dented, dirty, etc. as long as they are both real and recognisable. - Phils for example have been minted in the order of millions per year, and as such will never carry any numismatic premium whatsoever.

  • I guess it boils down to preference. I like to keep my collection as pristine as I possibly can. The Phils ...if I remember correctly, I think that last year was the first year they were minting silver as well as the gold. My thinking is that the 2008s, being the first minted year, will be quite collectible -so long as they are kept in new/uncirculated condition. If I'm wrong, then what could it hurt to keep them as nice as possible?

  • -Then again, I'm biased. I've got an unnatural love for silver. Any abuse of it makes me cringe. lol

    Keep stackin'! :)

  • Awesome haul! Interesting to see someone on YT who has a substantial amount of gold as well as silver, and a nice variety to boot. Too bad you don't yet have a Gold Eagle; such a beautiful coin (the Canadian Maple is very nice, as well)! =^[.]^=

  • They indeed are very pretty. I'll purchase one if I see one around, but they're pretty rare around here and carry a premium over more locally sourced coins.

I tend to lean heavily towards British gold purely because of the tax situation here - Sovereigns and Britannias are legal tender and thus not subject to capital gains tax, making them a better hedge against high levels of inflation.

  • I dont know why more people dont buy the florins especially the 92.5% silver ones.

In the end silver is silver if your going for investment just get the highest quantity of silver for the best price, that what will matter in the future.

  • I agree, but I like the .500 stuff more than the .925.

    1) it's cheap. My most recent kilo of florins was bought at 1/3 spot price. (£3/oz last month)

    2) it's a lot easier to work out the silver content in your head.

    3) the smaller denominations the better in the event of a paper currency collapse.

  • Dude, get some Australian Year of Tiger silver coins. They sure look damn pretty. Especially the Australian GOLD Year of Tiger.

  • Hello,

Nice collection... From that stack how long did it take you to neately separate those coins in their proper containers?

  • heh, a good half hour... it's quite theraputic.

  • Just wandering where you buy those coins???

  • Gold I tend to buy from local dealers as I like to see the coins I am buying beforehand. Variety of places... pawnbrokers; antiques shops; jewelers; bullion dealers.

Most of the 1oz silver coins were in bulks from coininvestdirect bought on dips.

The junk silver was accumulated from hawking ebay auctions. Average purchase price was 25% under spot.

  • Nice sovereigns hot damn!

  • You have been busy, in just a year. WELL done.....

I bet that was great fun packing that back up..

  • very very nice! heck of a pile you have there.

  • Use 100% cotton gloves. or clean, clean every time.

  • With the exception of the threepences, these aren't numismatic coins, this is essentially just metal I've been accumulating. Most of the old coins I tipped out had been in general circulation for at least 50 years.

I would never ever clean a coin though - this was something drilled into me from a very yound age by my coin-collecting grandfather. Uncirculated yet tarnished coins are much prettier and likely to be worth more than cleaned ones of the same age IMO.

  • Oh, course. What I mean is for for bullion collection its best to use cotton gloves. When cleaning finger prints I mean clean with rubbing alcohol on bullion, not yunk silver.

  • may u will be a billionaire in future

  • shiny!
