@standforchange08 right now oil is about $82+ dollars a barrel. considering the economic depression the world is in these prices are bogus. The only thing causing prices to rise is speculation and devaluation of the US dollar. My hunch is oil will rise until people are not able to afford it and then it will crash again. The problem is price of everything will go up food, clothing, etc etc etc.

Brazil gets its ethanol from cane sugar, which is easier than getting it from corn, which the US has the most. At least that's what I heard.

High crude oil prices are only a part of the whole picture. American oil companies are getting $25 to $27 a barrel to refine it. It costs them $7 to $9 dollars a barrel to refine it. If you think this is a reasonable profit margin I have nothing more to say.
