After watching this, I have no idea why Dark Origins exists. In the original comics Eddie Brock was just jealous of Spiderman kind of like Vegeta was jealous of Goku in DBZ. All I keep hearing is that "the original story doesn't explain enough". what, jealousy does not drive people to murder? This made more sense to me than that long winded comic.

@claudiobmk what is true is that the symbiote saved spiderman at the bell tower. Spiderman held life as sacred which is why he saves people, and that tendency rubbed off on the symbiote. This is why Venom was occasionally known to save people. Venom's main reason for fighting Spiderman was both Brock's hatred of him and the symbiote's resentment for Spiderman's rejecting the symbiote. Spiderman is considered by the symbiote to be the superior host in comparison to Brock.

I didnt mind when the costume bonded to Scorpian....argueably that should make for a 'Venon' MUCH stronger than when he was bonded to Brock, seeing as how Gargen already had powers much the same as Spiderman without the costume. Also it added some really great moments (which were not explored enough IMHO by the writers) where Venom would sprout a Scorpian Tail. What I HATED was the way Venom has been dumbed down into a zombie like (even screaming Eat Brains!!! at times) idiot...It ruined Venom
Favorite marvel character of all time. the black symbiote. Eddie brock was the best host. its a shame mervel loves to give their characters "Cancer" though. Another example is deadpool with his cancer. I could only imagine how much more powerful they would be without it.

When Spidey first wore the suit not only did it need a host to live but it also had a bizzare affection for Spidey and wanted to stay with Spidey forever. But when Spidey figured out the alien wanted to permanently attach itself to him, he got rid of it. The symbiote hated Peter for rejecting it. Back then the alien wasnt evil, just mad.
Today the alien is evil, devious, and controlling. The symbiote is basically whatever Marvel needs it to be.

My god, Venom's character has been mutilated over the years. Venom=The twisted combination of Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote. One of spidey's greatest enemies of all time. Now look at him. The symbiote is Venom now! Gargan now wears the suit to become a decaf version of Venom. Eddie Brock has become...*ugh*...Anti-Venom and the symbiote has become a generic clitched alien brainleach that merges with guys more frequently then a 10 dollar street hooker.
Mac Gargan has the symbiote now. Now Venom isn't interested in killing Spidey anymore, all he wants now is too be Osborn's puppet. The symbiote only wants to kill Spidey why would it work for Osborn. If the symbiote were in character it would have ditched Gargan and found someone who could stay focused on killing Spidey.
Anti Venom sucks ass. I really don't like him. I mean, come on! It don't even look menacing! Gargan destroyed Venom up, and anti Venom looks like a weakling. I wish Brock could be Venom again instead of Gargan. I hate Anti-Venom; they ruined one of Spider-Man's most powerful enemies.
Symbiote + Scorpion should have, in theory, been awesome. Both Scorpion and Venom already more or less have all of spider man's powers. When I first heard Scorpion had bonded with it I was interested. What I didn't count on was that Gargan's character has been more or less been made the 'Kuririn' of Spiderman's franchise since I last read a comic about him as a kid, a pathetic loser who is there to get trashed by other characters just to show how strong they are. My head hurts.
@Silvsilvchan He isn't EXACTLY a pathetic loser...just because he is diminutive doesn't mean he's a shrimp like Ed. He is the only one without any Saiyan lineage to perform kamekameha save for Roshi.

The only movies I have are all three Broli/Broly films and the knowledge that he trained with Goku. Yeah, Yamcha can. He learned it before Kuririn did in fact. But if Kuririn is a loser (he only ever was to make other characters seem that much stronger, Kuririn could take out planet if he wanted to) then Yamcha is even worse, for the same reasons. Kuririn at least was relevant in DBZ. Yamcha got stuck in the role of being beaten to a pulp immediately by whatever new ultra powerful edition to the cast is being introduced permanently before DBZ even began.
@Silvsilvchan Yamcha had it rougher though, he was typecast as an idiot from the beginning though. I really didn't mean any offense by my response, I just am used to looking at the logic. Gargan however is the wimp of the spiderman world. I am sorry if I tend to get pretty technical about things.

He was being casually cast aside in Dragonball. First Master Roshi, then the mummy, he fought pretty well against Tenshinhan but the fight with Kami was utterly humiliating. It was all downhill from there.

@broli1111 Yeah, the reason I found those movies interesting was initially that I am an FMA fan and like watching Yu Yu Hakusho. I wanted to try and hear something in Broli's voice. I guess I have brush up a bit more since I am a little more than interested in it than when I was a few years ago. I guess you could put it that I am more mature and can stand longer arcs.
As I told aoinata, I don't think Kuririn is a 'pathetic loser' so much as I am pointing out he was written into that role (just like Scorpion). In the anime much more so than in the manga, but yeah. The need to constantly throw more and more powerful villains at the characters quickly made any non-andriod or non-alien pretty irrelevant. He fought Freeza admirably, but up against Cell and Buu he was what every other non-saiyan was. In the way. And -that- pisses me off.
@Silvsilvchan He wasn't entirely in the way, his purpose wasn't to defeat them, but to stall them until someone else arrived. People over look this fact, but without Kuririn, Gohan never would have survived Namack, which would make the Cell and Buu saga's much different.

Oh I know, hence why he fought admirably against Freeza. But after that he couldn't even stall really. Gero casually cast him out of the way... so did Cell. So on.
@bigevil1001 The original suit was known as KROBAA, thats something you probably didn't know, whether or not you care doesn't matter to me. Sure, Gargan managed to use the suit later in 2000's according to our timeframe, however, the actual suit was never meant to be used by Gargan, the suit created an identity for itself as Venom, but if you know anything about Brock's Pseudo-dilemma its that his general emotions were an imprint and final identity for the suit. Google Krobaa for more info.
@bigevil1001 If you want to pay homage to the character or the franchise, anything of that nature, I would suggest avoiding anything from 2010. These are new artists and new workers under marvel, which is now co-owned by Disney. Maybe DC is more your liking (Not a good thing). In any case, the suit would be more likely to bond to an individual which seeks only to cleanse impurities, hence Lethal Protector. That's a series not too many people know about , despite liking venom.
@bigevil1001 For you, I'd stick to something like Heavy Metal, its 2 dimensional in story, its bland and its full of hookers, just like you'd love and jack off to. Go google that.

@waldoman7 carnage is not mindless, insane, yes but there is still a mind in there(shatered as it may be) and i happen to like carnage because he's a total badass that brings darknes to the spiderman universe unlike venom who gets used in EVERY SINGLE REBOOT AND SHOW THEY HAVE EVER DONE! you can get tired of something after a while, you start to hate it after that.

@TheRogueMonk Marvel is just being inconsistent. When Spidey first wore the suit not only did it need a host to live but it also had a bizzare affection for Spidey and wanted to stay with Spidey forever. But when Spidey figured out the alien wanted to permanently attach itself to him, he got rid of it. The symbiote hated Peter for rejecting it. Back then the alien wasnt evil, just mad.
Today the alien is evil, devious, and controlling. The symbiote is basically whatever Marvel needs it to be.

Venom by definition is=The combo of Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote. The symbiote is NOT Venom. Venom's own writer & creator said so himself. Sure Marvel has the symbiote hopping from host to host like Starro from DC and bonding with hosts who then decide to call themselves Venom when by definition their not. Thats not Venom thats just marvel being inconsistent and being ignorant of Venom's character. The alien symbiote is NOT Venom. MARVEL STOP TRYING TO TURN VENOM INTO STARRO!!!

He saved many people...sure he was a psycho and he killed almost every thug he ran into but still he wasnt a super villain as defined. Now Mac Gargan as Venom is a villain. Even if he saves people in Thunderbolts its only because he's being forced into it.

@bigevil1001 I'm not saying all Bad guy's see themselves as heroes but you aren't going to get a lot of them that see themselves as super villains. DC's Dr.Light, Darkseid. I don't mention Demons because by nature they are wicked.
Other Examples Of Super Villains that believe themselves to be heroes Ras Al Ghul, Sinestro, Bizzaro, Lex Luthor, Dr.Doom, etc.

My god, Venom's character has been mutilated over the years. Venom=The twisted combination of Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote. One of spidey's greatest enemies of all time. Now look at him. The symbiote is Venom now! Gargan now wears the suit to become a decaf version of Venom. Eddie Brock has become...*ugh*...Anti-Venom and the symbiote has become a generic clitched alien brainleach that merges with guys more frequently then a 10 dollar street hooker.

Mac Gargan has the symbiote now. Now Venom isn't interested in killing Spidey anymore, all he wants now is too be Osborn's puppet. The symbiote only wants to kill Spidey why would it work for Osborn. If the symbiote were in character it would have ditched Gargan and found someone who could stay focused on killing Spidey.

Anti Venom sucks ass. I really don't like him. I mean, come on! It don't even look menacing! Gargan destroyed Venom up, and anti Venom looks like a weakling. I wish Brock could be Venom again instead of Gargan. I hate Anti-Venom; they ruined one of Spider-Man's most powerful enemies.

Symbiote + Scorpion should have, in theory, been awesome. Both Scorpion and Venom already more or less have all of spider man's powers. When I first heard Scorpion had bonded with it I was interested. What I didn't count on was that Gargan's character has been more or less been made the 'Kuririn' of Spiderman's franchise since I last read a comic about him as a kid, a pathetic loser who is there to get trashed by other characters just to show how strong they are. My head hurts.

@broli1111 I didn't know Yamcha did, my knowledge was a bit limited...but still I was only using the relative facts as I saw them. The only movies I have are all three Broli/Broly films and the knowledge that he trained with Goku. I am still not MUCH of a DBZ fan either I just try to use all information before making an observation. Thanks for the compliment too.

Yeah, Yamcha can. He learned it before Kuririn did in fact. But if Kuririn is a loser (he only ever was to make other characters seem that much stronger, Kuririn could take out planet if he wanted to) then Yamcha is even worse, for the same reasons. Kuririn at least was relevant in DBZ. Yamcha got stuck in the role of being beaten to a pulp immediately by whatever new ultra powerful edition to the cast is being introduced permanently before DBZ even began.

@aoinatafanboy84 Yamcha wasn't an idiot. o_o He was the first real competition Goku had. If any one was typecast as stupid it was Goku himself. But yeah, he had it way worse. He was being casually cast aside in Dragonball. First Master Roshi, then the mummy, he fought pretty well against Tenshinhan but the fight with Kami was utterly humiliating. It was all downhill from there.

Those are good movies, it's how I got my username. The other movies are pretty good, and so is the shows, but they sucked at character development..

@broli1111 Yeah, the reason I found those movies interesting was initially that I am an FMA fan and like watching Yu Yu Hakusho. I wanted to try and hear something in Broli's voice. I guess I have brush up a bit more since I am a little more than interested in it than when I was a few years ago. I guess you could put it that I am more mature and can stand longer arcs.

As I told aoinata, I don't think Kuririn is a 'pathetic loser' so much as I am pointing out he was written into that role (just like Scorpion). In the anime much more so than in the manga, but yeah. The need to constantly throw more and more powerful villains at the characters quickly made any non-andriod or non-alien pretty irrelevant. He fought Freeza admirably, but up against Cell and Buu he was what every other non-saiyan was. In the way. And -that- pisses me off.

@Silvsilvchan He wasn't entirely in the way, his purpose wasn't to defeat them, but to stall them until someone else arrived. People over look this fact, but without Kuririn, Gohan never would have survived Namack, which would make the Cell and Buu saga's much different.
DBGT was worse, cause ONLY Pan, Goku, Trunks and Vegita did anything, the rest ...were just "there".

@bigevil1001 The original suit was known as KROBAA, thats something you probably didn't know, whether or not you care doesn't matter to me. Sure, Gargan managed to use the suit later in 2000's according to our timeframe, however, the actual suit was never meant to be used by Gargan, the suit created an identity for itself as Venom, but if you know anything about Brock's Pseudo-dilemma its that his general emotions were an imprint and final identity for the suit. Google Krobaa for more info.

@bigevil1001 If you want to pay homage to the character or the franchise, anything of that nature, I would suggest avoiding anything from 2010. These are new artists and new workers under marvel, which is now co-owned by Disney. Maybe DC is more your liking (Not a good thing). In any case, the suit would be more likely to bond to an individual which seeks only to cleanse impurities, hence Lethal Protector. That's a series not too many people know about , despite liking venom.

Hmmmm, the reason why Eddie Brock developed his muscles was his father. He wanted to impress him, to make him proud.
The comics releaved a lot more about Eddie Brock. The early Amazing Spiderman were just the beginning.
