It's interesting that the Stones were basically a cover band their first three or four albums, but were a hit right off the bat. Rarely did they put out an album that didn't go number 1. I also think that it's interesting that for each early album there were a UK and US release.
I love this band, but I cant stop bumming about what jagger and richerds did to Jones, I dont care if he fried his brain, that is some selfish shit, and they are both shit for that.
@idontwantohurtnobody i hear ya, the rolling stones was originally brian jones' project, then piece by piece they took that from him, the drugs jst made it easier, maybe he was doin so many drugs to cope with the fact his so called friends were pulling the carpet out from underneath his work
Yep. But the Stones film was a case of senior citizens filming younger rock stars who should be senior citizens but will never retire. Bill Clinton came onstage and he was as rocknroll as bill gates. How old are you? he asked? Keith and Mick shook their heads. But Casino and Goodfellas gets the thumbs up. The Departed? allright but it lacked somethin. Mr Jason Bourne did good as the fuggin rat.
You guys catch the in joke in Casino. This song was played while the film introduced the Sharon Stone character. Get it? Sharon Stone. Heart of Stone.
@jto1916 It's highly doubtful that the Stones would've had the success they did had it not been for the Beatles, and I can tell you from Mick's own mouth after hearing him on an interview that he agrees as so many other bands that hit it big after the Beatles broke through so many barriers musically. Got to give credit where credit is due!
@ukraininoak i agree with you, just quoting what Mick said and he's right. the stones are incredibly talented no doubt, but they're also humble and Mick's quote proved that. I adore the Stones, so please don't take offense. But, the Beatles are my boys and I found Mick's statement/quote to be very endearing~ It is what it is and he made that perfectly clear..
@kokosmom1 Yeah, Keith says in his book that the Beatles cleared the way for the Stones. For all the almost 50 years of fans arguing which one was better, Keith says that the Beatles and Stones hung out together because only those two groups ever attained such a high degree of fame. Only they could understand the pressures.
@MrAlsfan5 Good for you! I'm 54..grew up with both and adore both! You sure gotta be careful what you say because so many take it the wrong way and the next thing you know someone is sending you a nasty e-mail. Geez., we've all got our opinions and that should be respected or is it just me?lol
@kokosmom1 Yeah, know what you mean. Both were great bands. It's like being critical of someone for liking beer but not wine or vice versa. Everyone is different and has different tastes.
Could this be because Casino is Scorcese's finest film ever? Yep I said it.
Get this through your head - GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD you Jew motherfucker you! You only exist out here because of me! That's the only reason! Without *me*, you, personally, every fuckin' wise guy skell around'll take a piece of your fuckin' Jew ass! THEN where you gonna go? You're fuckin' warned! Don't ever go over my fuckin' head again! You motherfucker, you!
When I was 13 I found in my mother's closet an LP of Rolling Stones Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass). It became my favorite vinyl. Awesome song Great Band.
" listen to me you jew mothafucka you, you only exist out here because of me.thats who, otherwise every wise guy still around will take a piece of your jew ass"
@karrasfather yeah right. Casino to me has the best picked soundtrack ever! The Goodfellas soundtrack is great also. Scorsese knows how to pick songs that express feelings during awesome pictures!
@karrasfather He's one of the few directors who actually puts good music into his films and not a bunch of classical hoopla like TOO many others. I always say this to everyone. I think it's part of the reason I love his films so much. He made classic rock, as well some oldies doo wop go hand in hand with bad ass gangster cinema and thinking in general! He could have used more Bob Dylan, though.
@sublimeruca27 agree Scorsese and Tarintino are great at having the best music in their movies ---- songs that usually tell a part of the movies' story
Yeah, like anyone of us could image what it would be like to be in Henry Hills situation. Or like society would want people like those he told on, on the streets... His obligation was to his wife and children, not a bunch of backstabbing criminals. Atleast in my eyes..
His obligation was to his wife and kids? Henry Hill ratted because he got caught selling drugs when wasn't supposed to. He saved his own ass by turning into a rat. So fuck him.
I think we see crime differently. For me, it makes no difference what motive someone has for turning someone in to the police who destroy society. And I say that because I know what is like, I have spent a long time in prison. And I can tell you right now, that you might start considering the possibility that the people following the "code of silence" might not be the guys setting the rules. Any benefits of turning in the competition? people wanting to kill you..
One of my favorite movies I watched it this weekend it was on Max, I have already seen it many times be4 but i watched it again lol Robert Deniro is my fav actor!! And the sound track to this movie was awesome i loved it!
