indeed there is a distant and bigg connection betwin the Somali, and Mali, i think some of the ancient egyptians, whose ancestors where Somali Puntites, might have migrated across the sahara desert to present day Sahel region in eastern Mal...i... hence thats the connection, old but still solid, besides belive it or not, i even came acros info about a region within Somalia's Puntland provnce called Karkaar, and coincidentally enough there is a city in mali called Karkaar...
