  • Bend time...

  • hey great tutorial man, quick question tho... i been making some kinda indie folk rockish and i'd like to incorporate more electronic influence. usually i use addictive drums with a trigger pad for drums, ik miroslav and fm8 for strings, piano etc...now i never used reason before but it looks appealing cause id like to be more streamlined. do u think that reason is good enough?

  • THIS GUY IS AWESOME BEST turtorial ever

  • Reason and Pro Tools together produce the best results. Especially with Boom for PT and the Xpand2 synthesizer. Take a look at my Pro Tools Reason setup and video showing how to use the two together.

  • Can you explain how you make patterns in kong drum designer? Working in block mode doesnt seem to work for me :S

  • 4.34

some hihats up in this Bitch!

  • "Now, Next up we're gonna get some Hi-Hat's in this bitch."

  • nice tut - I have a question unrelated to this though!! Having upgraded to Record/Reason 5 I now have my copy of reason 4 siting all nice and clean in it's box. Since I got a new licence number with v5/record does that mean I'm free to sell v4? ie will the new user be free to use my old v4 licence number without Propellerheads busting his door down (figuratively speaking)? replies welcome

  • where can i download this software? what's it call?

  • can this guy get any more posh? lol

  • can you use kong in ableton live?

  • U r funny I love it

  • Hi dave. Just a random question, would u ever ditch your windows and invest in a mac?

  • @4:30 ish..."we're gonna get some high hats in this bitch". lol I like it bro

  • How long have Reason 5 been out?

  • thanx!!!!…im sub'd

  • htnax!!!!…im sub'd

  • love the vid in this bitch. lol.

  • you saying "dirty south" and "in this bitch" was awesome especially in your accent.

  • looks shit

  • can i use reason with my normal keyboard?

  • subscribed!

  • can you use a normal midi keyboard to trigger kong or do you need pads? and can you program a beat within kong or only with your midi keyboard/controller? and last question can you make your drum sounds in kong and then send them through redrum? if so can you apply automation to a parameter in kong and still have it go through redrum? sorry for the dumb questions. just trying to figure out if reason 5 is worth the upgrade for me. thanks

  • Dude what is up with youi "Hi's"??? lol

  • i like the way u say '' Hi '' XD

  • where download reason 5?

  • "Because I feel like rapping about cards and money after this. Anyway, let's get some bass up in this bitch"

  • lol I've gotta admit i chuckled a few times. Well done.

  • Can you program the drums and then copy pattern to track? I don't like manually programming the beat.

  • Kong is ok, but there are much better drum synths out there. Reason keeps falling further and further behind everyone else.

  • @SuperTube1313

Like what? i am looking for one.

  • Feel like rapping about cars and money? #LOL 4:27

  • Ur pure english dude i love it!!!

  • Nice little Tutorials you got goin. One slightly annoying thing is hearing the click of your keys and somewhat squeaky midi keyboard lol; have you heard of noise cancelling enhancements? ;]

With a bit of TLC the keyboard would be fine, but after your Orphan bashing use, i'm not sure its coping too well xD

Nice of you to tease us about....ermm show us all the wonderful units within Kong.

  • May seem like a stupid question so forgive me, but is redrum included with reason 5 along with kong or can you only get both redrum and kong if you upgrade from reason 4 to 5?

  • @Olie23231 The Redrum is included. The Dr.Rex is the only device that has been replaced.

  • looooool. [BRITISH ACCENT] We're going to throw some hi hats in this bitch. looooooool. Im british too but you sound TOO british. good props

  • Hahahaha........ HI! im Dave from boyinaband i though some one squeezed one of though horns when i heard that!

  • that tom sound is scarily similar to that of the eastenders theme tune. LOL.

think they set a frank butcher refill as the default kit.

  • Hi! I'm Byron from Full Sail University

  • "Hi-hats in this bitch" XD

  • You forgot to mention that the Toms in the Drum Designer can be used for Nu Disco tracks. This is awesome I can't wait

  • are you able to program the kong just like Redrum or like save the drums seperatly into an audiofile and load it in Redrum?

  • @Zlatis23 the answer is no. Kong is dope but they could have made it much better. For one...they should have given it 32 outputs...or the choice to assign each pad to a mono output. With the way it's set up now, you can only assign 8 pads to individual outputs. Booooooooooooooooo

  • You're awesome Dave!!!

  • do you love synths? thumbs up for yes thumbs down for no!

  • BEND TIME?!

  • @ReliableNow Yeah, Reason 5 is capable of ignoring physics, I forgot to mention in this video.

  • HI! :D 1st sec is priceless.

awsome tutorial man, as all of them are

  • Its the beta of reason or the whole soft ? ( great vid btw)

  • Let's not forget about the doctor octorex! Lol. Reason 5 and record 1.5 are awesome and is the best reason update by far in my opinion. It is well worth it. The blocks feature and the sampling will be the diamonds in the rough for actual users, not just youtubers that claim to use the program.

  • @dmoates420 Octorex will be awesome for people using .rex files a lot for sure! That'll mean you'll have to buy either refills or recycle to make the most of it though.

  • @wwwboyinabandcom

think of it as a Dr. rex on steroids :D

  • @dmoates420 and dont forget NurseRex in kong!

  • oh i hoped that they will at least make one new synth or make it vst friendly....:/

so you will actually pay (how much??) just for kong and what else?

i hope that at least you can operate with wave samples more freely..for example like in logic, ableton or cubase....

  • I can see it as being used for some cool laser and bleep sounds though and the snares arent that cheesy might be useful.

  • cant wait to get thiiiiis!!!!! will be good for making the bands drum tracks too.

  • I dont like the cheesy sounds

  • @oOoInStInCtoOo I'm not entirely sold on the usefulness of some parts of Kong either, though it looks cool and is easier to *make* the kits (the samples are generally the way you'll get the best sounds) I still prefer ReDrum for sequencing them.

I think Kong shines when you have a midi controller to record the patterns with though!

  • meh, is this the only thing new about reason 5?

  • @DonnyNoir Nope, blocks and sample recording are also new features, plus neptune in record 1.5 which is absolutely awesome.

  • @wwwboyinabandcom

    Whats neptune five mate?

  • God amongst men.

  • the tom reminds me of "rick astley - never gonna give you up"

  • @olivt001 lol somebody's probably going to recreate the track and put it on youtube as a joke!

  • Sounds like you're not pleased with Kong...

  • @PeaceLoveAndMax Some of kong is awesome, some of it is cheesy.

  • FINALLY KONG :D

  • 1st!!!!
