  • @TheSamlewis1 no that's not Gerard butler these are all the west end phantoms

  • Everytime Colm opens his mouth THE WHOLE WORLD CLAPS.

  • I think Nicoles version was the best ever done

  • I wish Michael had sung!

  • Yeah, Sarah has difficulty to reach the notes, but finally she got them, and most important, she got the final note, a disaster would be if she didn´t reach any note, but at the end, without any vocal preparation, with the hum, nervious and with cold of the night she did it well.

  • Who is the Phantom at 3;44?

  • @queenme222 Gerrard Butler.

  • Poor Sarah. She sounded like she's struggled with the notes.

  • please sara, let sierra sing that song !

  • Love the people bashing Sara here. I can can guarantee you none of them can sing anywhere near as close as she can. Get a life.

  • What's wrong with Peter's voice? The phantom should have some tonality to his voice... disappintment.

  • When I see the name Colm Wilkinson, I think Les Miserables.

  • anybody know why Michael didn't sing? is something wrong with his throat?

  • @scgtlp He just came from his performance of Wizard of Oz, maybe he was tired.

  • duelling phantoms

  • OMFG PETER JÖBACK (the youngest phantom) !

  • Could someone please be kind enough to tell the names of the Phantoms from left to right (looking at the screen) and which year they were first shown portraying the Phantom? (Don't tell me the one for the 25th anniversary....we all know that having just watched it)

  • @xSkye629x Anthony Warlow (the bald one) played Phantom in the Aussie production in 1990 and again in 2006. John Owen-Jones was in the 2005 London production (not sure where). Colm Wilkinson in the 1989 Canadian version (he moved there after he was offered the role; he has also played Jean Valjean in Lay Miz on Broadway and West End.) And Peter Jöback (the tall hot one :D) will be playing in the 2012 London production.

  • WOW FIVE PHANTOM CREEPERS SINGING ALL IN ONE ROOM! I WONDER IF THEY SING TOGETHER AT THEIR PETIFILE CLUB

  • @8bandnerd You know this is fiction right?

  • Touching ending though :)

  • Should have been such an amazing performance with the brilliant talents taking part, but didn't seem to particularly stand out to me. Could have been so much better.

  • Sarah Brightman is simply the best Christine, her awesome range in this song demonstrates why, also that she was married to ALW makes her the angel of music.

  • I love the part when the phantoms tell her to "Sing For Me!!!"

  • What was the name of the phantom at the end on the right? When they were singing Phantom of The Opera?

  • I wish Hugh Panaro was there...........

  • i dont like Sarahs' breathing - it's to loud for someone of her 'education'

  • seen it & loved it alot!!!!

  • I love Andrew Lloyd Webber as much as the next Theatre Geek but he is so awkward in the beginning it's making me feel awkward too lol

  • To be perfectly fair to Mr. Joback, he is singing in a language that is foreign to him, and it sometimes happens that the quality of a singer's voice loses something in translation. I will give you he doesn't exactly blend well or hold up very well against Warlow, Jones, Karimloo or Wilkinson, but let's cut the guy a break. K, thanks.

  • I saw Colm in Toronto and was blown away - I saw it 5 more times but Colm topped them all - he made Michael Crawford sound like a girl! This was a fantastic finale!

  • Wish they had Gerard Butler there, but still...OH MY GOD THIS WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!

  • a-mazing! i went to see it for the 1st time last fall at ECC and i fell hopelessly in love with it! god Ramin and Hadley are so cute!

  • Not a big fan of Sarah.... Sierra was AMAZING though.

Ramin Karimloo is fantastic, so is Colm Wilkinson. Not a huge fan of Joback though.....

  • I feel like I'm the only one who is in love with Peter Jöback's voice..

  • Joback sucks.

  • Ughhh Sarah's vibrato is awful -_- I don't see why people love her so much.

  • @lindsayluewho61

I love her because I want to put various parts of my body in various parts of her body.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote one of the most beautiful romantic operas in all the world. My thanks go to him. What a gift he gave us.

  • She's gotten old and warbly now. Her voice was truly beautiful

  • Michael Crawford was the best Phantom!!! I love him!!!

  • should have been JOJ for the 25th performance.... *sigh*

  • @dloc0925 I agree! Love him!

  • I strongly dislike the young tenor's voice for the phantom's part....

  • I got to see a Phantom of the Opera not only once but twice! Once when I was in 8th grade and it was Kansas City, Missouri and another time in 2009 on a college trip to London and I saw it on its original stage, and it rock the both time i saw it! Oh I wish I got to go and see this one!

  • Does anyone know if Phantom will ever tour the US again?

  • :) :)

    cheers, cheers, cheers!

  • Is the oldest looking Phantom Jean Valjean from the TAC of Les Mis?

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx Yes. That is Colm Wilkinson.

  • Comment removed

  • 5 Phantoms = Happy thoughts

  • okay all the colm bashers who think he cant sing forget he is almost 70, he was in his 40s when he started in phantom to begin with and anyone who thinks he isn't good at "music of the night" listen to this from back when he just finished his 5 year run as the phantom /watch?v=txBPa8pVHII , like michael crawford colm isn't trained for this role anymore but is a more active singer so could pull it off, also this is just a get together thing of performers who love phantom, seriously stop bashing

  • @DrinkOmally I happen to think that he's phenomenal :-) True, peeps are forgetting that the guy is 67. Most people at that age are retired, not singing their lungs out like he is. So kudos to Colm.

The other two POTs (JOJ & AW) are wonderful too. The only one I don't really like is the youngest guy singing: Peter Joback. He's not as good imo.

  • @PapilioPudibundus you cant really compare him to AW as he is a trained opera singer and john owen jones is over 25 years younger and at the time was playing the phantom in london so he would have been very trained at the role but i was just posting that as there were loads of people going on about how his voice doesnt compare to the others and that he cant sing i was just showing them they are wrong

  • @DrinkOmally I wasn't comparing him to JOJ & AW at all o_O. As I've pointed out in my previous reply, I have tremendous respect for CW: he's doing a great job & I love his voice. I'm impressed that he can do that in spite of his age.

That being said, I also enjoyed AW, JOJ & RK's performances...Just because I liked them too, doesn't mean that I was dissing CW or even comparing him to them. They all are immensely talented imo.

  • @PapilioPudibundus yeah i know you weren't i was refering to people comparing them in general i didn't mean you were dissing him, i suppose it looked like that but i was agreeing with what you said

  • Colm still has it!!

  • Ramin Karimloo owns this! The best phantom. :)

  • Sarah Brightman is the best. No matter how changes in her low register but she is still the best. :-)

  • I never knew that there were so many Phantoms. Notice how Gerard Butler isn't there.

  • @bigoldinosaur Maybe because Gerard wasn't a stage version? Just a wild guess.

  • @bigoldinosaur probably because he hasn't played the Phantom live on stage?

  • @bigoldinosaur Well Gerard Butler was casted for the movie. The phantoms that performed were at some point the phantom in the stage production.

  • @bigoldinosaur Well, Gerard Butler never played the Phantom on Broadway. He was only in the film. If they were Phantoms from all different shows and movies, he might have been there, and maybe even Ramin Karimloo from the sequel of the show, Love Never Dies, might have showed up (which would have been just awesome)

  • @Heavylight17 Actually Ramin is the one who has the phantom's mask on...

  • @theedancerr404 ...wow, I can read

  • Honestly, I don't like Sarah Brightman's voice and never have. She can hit very high notes and has an incredible vibrato. But, the tone of her voice is just odd-sounding to me, especially when she sings low. It's not beautiful at all, and makes her sound like a toad. No offense to any Brightman fans, this is just my opinion.

  • @ZombieTorii Okay, you're entitled to your opinion, but for me, SB will always be the ultimate Christine, just like MC will always be the ultimate phantom. Also, she's doing pretty well (though understandably not as good as when she was younger), considering she's 51 years old. She's no longer a spring chicken.

  • @ZombieTorii I dont like her much either.. just one and other song... but when I bought the Phantom Of The Opera movie (Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum) I went to special features and heard Sarahs version.. I must say I didn´t like at all... she doesn´t feel like Christine.. any way, I see this and it´s like something really important is missing.. I know that they are the original and whatever but they are just people singing it.. not Christine and the Phantom

  • @ZombieTorii When she sings Opera.

    Operar

  • @TheLivingAnime143

I think most British people do that when they say a word ending in a vowel and then their next word begins with a vowel, they separate it with an "r"

  • @ZombieTorii You do kind of have a point. But still, you've got to give her some credit. Not everyone can do that. If you can I would like to see you try.>:)

  • @ZombieTorii Your ignorant comments, about Sarah Brightman's abilities ARE offensive to all of Sarah's fans, Sarah, and ALW who introduced her as, "My Angel of Music." ALW also said, "Without these two (Sarah & Michael), we would not be here." I don't know what greater endorsements she could have for her singing abilities than comments like these from the genius who wrote the Phantom specifically for her voice. It is a privilege to hear her sing. I am dying to hear her live.

  • @ZombieTorii i hate her vibrato , it makes her voice irritating , and i honestly get a headache from listening to her =.=

  • @ZombieTorii To be fair she used to be pretty amazing. Nowadays though? Ugh, she can barely keep pitch in this video! It's embarassing

  • @ZombieTorii Eesh I think her vibrato is awful. It sounds a little warbly to me, but that's probably because her voice is shot now

  • AWESOME!!! The Grand Finale of all Grand Finales. Owen-Jones was the best Phantom.

  • Why am I thinking of Maxwell Sheffield from The Nanny when I see Andrew Lloyd Webber?! lol

  • @zucovy LOL! That's exactly what I said to my husband while watching this on PBS.

  • I'm a huge fan of Colm Wilkenson; however, I must say, John Ownen-Jones totally dominated this performance.

  • Comment removed

  • hair raising performance!!! i wanna see it again.

  • see to me Colm is the Phantom, Ive seen him 5 times live, listen to original canadian cast of phantom of the opera he is awesome.

  • John Owen Jones and Anthony Warlow are amazing! But why the hell is that Colm guy there? Even Joback kinda screws his face when that guy starts singing as if 'wtf?'..He can play the silent page boy!

  • @ThnkHppyThghts because he was one of the 5 phantoms

  • @TheIloveyou9 Yes, I know he played the Phantom, but his voice just doesn't fit. They should've persuaded Michael Crawford to sing :/

  • @ThnkHppyThghts So because he was the first Phantom in the Sydmonton workshop in 1985 but with the succes of Miz it was not possible to play The Phantom. His performance of the role is totally different and complex manage to hate him, to love him, to feel sorry .Michael Crawford is too romantic, The Phantom is quite safe romantic - it is necessary to read the book - But I respect Mickael Crawford it's a wonderful perfoprmer I just prefer the vision of the role by Colm Wilkinson.

  • @Nadou3006 Again, like I said, his voice doesn't quite fit with this performance. Maybe on his own it wouldn't be too bad, but when you hear the deeper, and I guess more traditional voices of JOJ and Anthony Warlow, Colm stands out like a sore thumb. But hey, everyone has different opinions so meh.

  • This is just amazing... This music is touching my soul... I love "The Phantom of the Opera" and i wish some day i will see it in theater. <3

  • Why wouldn't/couldn't Michael Crawford sing?

  • @jazzy6307

It might be because he just got there, as Webber said, he had just ran over from the London Palladium where he sings the wizard in The Wizard of Oz

  • @jazzy6307 it was an agreement between him and someone else/ company that he was not allowed to sing due to the fact that he was singing in the wizard of oz

  • @renz686 i'm a 16 year old baritone and I can hit that note.

  • @RAVEmovies eh, read the comment carefully, he said i bet none of you could sing that high note WHEN YOU ARE 50... tell us if you could still hit that note in 34 years' time.

  • sarah is amazing

  • Quality is depressing though ):

  • Sarah Brightman is the best

  • Maaaaaaaaan, it woul dhave been GOLD if Michael had been able to sing.

  • those 9 people who disliked.... seems Raoul was busy.

  • Wasnt john owen johns and colm wilkennson jean val john in les mis

  • @thunderstormabbi Yes they both played Valjean. Colm Wilkinson played him in the 10th Anniversary Concert, which was fabulous!

  • john has officially THE most beautiful voice i have ever ever ever heard.

  • Sarah has lost the power of her voice...THANK GOD!!!

  • Anyone else find Sarah's vibrato really annoying?

  • @skylineaddict yeah i found that the mens voices were more powerfull than hers

  • I am residing overseas in the Orient and last week I happened to visit the cinema. I saw they were showing "The Phantom of the Opera" and I thought "M'kay, I'll watch this."

I came away astounded. This part of the film really made the experience.

  • why didnt michael crawford sing?

  • @dilly3464 Michael unfortunately was under the weather. :(

  • @suikotsusempei That was so disappointing! Michael has been my favorite Phantom my whole life! I was so devastated that he didn't get to sing!!! :(

  • @suikotsusempei Thanks. He must have been crushed, poor thing.

  • Verrrryyy nicee Yee....

  • i´m so - so sorry but can take sarah her mask off ???

damn, she was the most beautiful christine ever. . . !

  • "you alone can make my song take flight" gives me chills every time. i dont know why

  • doesn't just everyone wanna run up to Michael and give him a big ole hug??

he is simply the best :))

  • 9:30 why cant i sing like that?

  • Simply amazing.

First off, to have 5 phantoms on the stage at once was epic. Then to bring out Sarah Brightman who originated the role of Christine, put the icing on the cake. Sarah hasn't aged a bit either, and her voice is still magnificent.

    Nostalgia to the max.

  • Dear Santa Claus,

I want all 6 Phantoms gift-wrapped in Phantom costumes and edible undergarments for Christmas this year. If this is too much trouble, I will happily settle for 2 or 3 in their pajamas.

    Sincerely,

    Asdfghjkl;

  • killeer!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anthony Warlow... the best phantom in my opinion...

  • Michael Crawford IS the Phantom of the Opera. Pity he didn't sing -_-

  • just went to see the movie of this

  • Five phantoms on one stage... I need a fan. (fans self) <3

  • Colm Wilkinson....He is MY Phantom.

  • great musical.. the best.

  • I had the incredible pleasure of seeing Colm Wilkinson perform the Phantom back in 1991 with Rebecca Caine, started my love of everything broadway/musical, to me, there is NO OTHER Phantom then Colm Wilksinson :D

  • who is to Sarah's right? *love* his voice!!!!!

  • Michael <3 Nothing can compare to you, that's for sure :)

  • Sara, too much vibrato, but its still amazing to hear!!!

  • I think Michael, John, and Ramin are the three best Phantoms <3

  • John Owen-Jones is probably thinking while singing his parts:

"Yes. I most definitely OWN this."

  • @dloc0925 And he did :)

  • OMG...thank you for adding this...I didn't know =)

  • It is LIVE ... It would sound Much better had it been pre recorded ...

  • Michael Crawford could not sing due to contract obligations. If you will notice near the end he did join the ensemble.

  • Epic!

  • Michael is crying!! :')

Can you imagine how amazing this was for him? I mean, this is HIS show as much as it is Webber's, and this was as much a tribute to him as it was to Webber. Without him, this show would be no where.

  • @garthphantomlife I agree. I believe the show would not be as big as it is today were it not for him.

  • In case you're wondering, Michael Crawford didn't sing because he had literally just come from a performance of the Wizard of Oz (Andrew Lloyd Webber's new show) in which he is featured as the Wizard himself, and he couldn't pull it off with his voice. Notice he does get the last note of Music of the Night though :D I love you, Michael

  • I love the chemistry between Colm + JOJ. 9:39 Colm nods and smiles, muchos respect. There is a clip of I think it's 4 Jean Valjeans singing at the Royal Variety show. JOJ gives Colm a similar smile and nod when Colm starts singing Bring Him Home. Two of the greatest musical performers...nee singers of our time. :)

  • Stop dissing on Sarah Brightman! I'm pretty sure none of you could sing that high note when your 50

  • @renz686 Pretty sure it was pre-recorded

  • @renz686 I highly agree! She has always had an impressive voice and for her age she still does!

  • @renz686 You're right. It's so impressive for a 50 year old trained singer to be able to do this. She is terrible and you are in denial.

  • Poor Sarah, she struggled through the song. Wish she had her voice crystal clear like the old days

  • First off, THANK YOU Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber for making this possible. I wish we could have this sort of commemorative for "Evita" which I also adore.

Second, Michael Crawford is freakin' 70 years old! He might not want to attempt to sing as he did 25 years ago. Cut him some slack Jack.

Third, I agree, Ms Brightman is oddly off her game here. She does the "ah-ah-iah-ah" part flawlessly, but then if we're cutting Crawford slack after 25 years, maybe we need to do likewise.

  • @MauiLevi Yeah agree, they are getting old but DANG! Michael looks good for a 70 year old man!!

  • PHANTOM OF THE OPERA FTW OF BEST MOVIE!!!

  • Sarah SUCKS BIG TIME

  • SARA IS SOOOO BAAAAAAAAAAD

  • raminraminraminramin

  • I reconized Ramin and John Owen Jones but who were the other 3????

  • @cval1117

In order of appearance, venue in ()

Colm Wilkinson (Toronto), Anthony Warlow (Melbourne), Peter Joback (London)

  • Amazing finale!! I loved Ramin's "You alone can make our song take flight." to Michael Crawford. =')

  • In 25 years I'll be going to the 50th anniversary.

  • this was so sexy.

  • anthony warlow <3

  • Peter Jöback has played the Phantom? :O

  • @Kotlettbengt He will play the Phantom in London between March and September (i think) this year

  • @309nilsson Sweet!

  • John. Owen. Jones.

    Nuff said.

  • Yes, Colm's "SING MY ANGEL OF MUSIIIIIIIC!!!!" is what makes this whole thing watchable!

  • i will never tire of this. listen to this soundtrack recording every day. gives me goosebumps every time "SING FOR ME MY ANGEL OF MUSIC!". I swear ALW should of been my dad

  • That was persous and when phantom truned to Michale Crawford and said you alone can make our song take flight I wish he could have sang too bad he was in the wiz

  • This was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! i cried!

  • JOJ is always my fav Valjean, he's my fav Phantom...

  • so better nicole scherzinger!

  • i really want to hear the original Christine and Phantom sing again(which would be so meaningful), too bad they had both of them there but didn't sing together...
