  • I think you did a great job! In response to a previous poster, tickets were sold for Woodstock, but in the end, it was a free concert because tickets were not needed as they tore down then fences. The Stones were playing Sympathy for the Devil during the stabbing. Also the Grateful Dead showed up but never played after witnessing the mayhem. Some say the 60's ended the day Nixon resigned in Aug 1974.

  • Well done! Although I tend to think of the end of the 60's with the assassination of Fred Hampton by the Chicago Police, 12/69

  • nothing brutal about stabbing and beating to death a guy who shoots up a concert even if he is one of your cherished so called African Americans he got what he deserved

  • The reason they could not get a permit is..when a band with the crowd and money that the Stones bring in..the city expects to 'get theirs'..when it was free..sour grapes from S.F. and everyone else..except the musicians..that was a time of sadness..the wonder and promise of the sixties was changing and everyone was fighting like hell to keep that from happening..Peace Tony

  • fukin retards

  • you fucking suck damn it

  • your video is stupid and everybody hates you

  • I would surmise you received the well deserved D+ or C- for this "effort" you put a lot into.

The critical remarks being because it seemed you never approached the subject matter with the seriousness it warranted, appearing to treat it as a trivial joke from the outset with intentional incompetance.

Such productions only garner respect when not by intent but innocent haplessness.

  • People who don't know the facts should shut the fuck up.

  • i like parody's.

  • CITE YOUR SOURCES. The beginning quote, Woodstock wasn't free. (I read 2 books on it). Brian Jones was fired from the stones June of 1969, died July 1969. This concert was after he was fired and after he had died. Mick Taylor replaced him. (I did a research paper on the rolling stones *got a 105) and also, i wouldn't be surprised if you failed. The last song isn't a stones song and the first song is from the 1980's

  • this was kind of a disturbing video, felt a little uncomfortable, but hey every boy has to go through puberty, after i got through the discomfort i fairly enjoyed the video story, great job!

  • I like how Brian Jones is in the credits.....Im no genius, but I am a stones fan...sorry to tell u Mick Taylor replaced him b4 the Altamont

  • Hells Angles rode rigid Frame Harley's with flat head engines and they sold speed to pay for repairs. Those mopeds are way too upscale for those guys. You only stabbed him once. In real life he was stabbed over and over. Just to make sure. Paul Cox called Rolling Stones, told it all, FBI at our door....The '60's were dead before Woodstock, Before the Haight Riots. It was all done..Paul went ot Altamont but none of us went. You could tell it was chaos time.

  • wasn;t it mick taylor at altamont

  • I'm sorry, but that is not golden gate park

  • Oh an by the way this video is shit.

  • Meredith Hunter, The fella who was stabbed by a Hell's Angel produced a revolver and boasted that he was going to kill Mick Jagger. The Angel acted after this weapon was produced and stabbed Hunter several times in the back and in the back of the head. "Innocent" my ass. Get your facts straight.

  • They "put a lot of effort into this".

    Right.

That's why it starts off with a song from the 80's.

  • Comment removed

  • my gosh! Two wimpy women and my equally wimpy guy of the time? WE WERE RUNNING SCARED! Did nothing but have bad dreams for years. Rox

  • Brian Jones died in July,1969. He was not at Altamont

  • AFFA FTW DFFL

  • Mick you want Sympathy for the Devil?

You want to be a Street Fighting Man?

You want to sing about stick knives down throats?

    Let it Bleed?

    You got for Real.

    Talk about Karma Kick-Back

  • all around good job... I never thought of Hells Angels as Scooter boys, before, lol <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • A+ guys! Your reenactment was dead on! I loved it! Reminds me of the videos me and my friends made in highschool :)

  • the rape I saw was angels and so no one was ballsy enough to stop it. Many bloody horrors that day. Enough to keep me up a week just trying to make sense of it. Listened to radio and tv and still can get to tears easily when I remember the day.

I truly love the Stones so it is really a bad trip for me.

  • well, I was there that day and the night before... Went to a concert in Sacto with Crosby Stills Nash and Young the night before and they said, free concert, come on down, so without sleep we took sleeping bags, some water, some food and were in the part before the gates opened from the S F side.

  • A million folks coming down the hill, I will never forget.

The day was such a bad trip, I was glad that I didn't do any acid.

The stage was the problem: IT was so short anyone could jump up on it and the angels just beat those drugged folks back with pool sticks... bloody bodies were carried back past us all day. IT was a horror and we were stuck: Freeways clogged and closed. So when we left during the stones, we saw the more horrible thing: a GIRL RAPED BY THE STAGE. unforgettable sad sad

  • Jagger is a Crawley puppet. Nice school project. I never heard about the drowning or hit & run. Just the jealous black guy, that didn't like Jagger acting blacker than him! Notice the Angels didn't jump on him. They did their job. It only took one angel to take him down. The rest assisted in crowd control.

  • Wow, you're an asshole.. the hells angels are big people they didn't have to stab him, they could of got the gun off him in one shot. he was also really high off meth and could bearly walk.. and the reason why he wanted to shoot mick jagger was becuase his girl friend keeped saying that mick is atracting.. so get your facts straight and have some sympathy.. hells angels did everything to hurt him...

  • you are dumb and so wrong

  • Just sitting here surfing U-Tube and ran across this. I was 20 in 69. Got married in may and started life. Thank God I wasn't called to Nam. But this Altamont thing makes me cry. I never heard about the gun. I believe we have the right to carry guns, but why would you take one to a hippie concert? JESUS Please come back soon;

  • Melvin Belli did the promoting of the free concert and he choose Altamont Speedway and while Woodstock toke months to set up, this fiasco was set up in 24hrs. A drug dealer from Berkley passed out 1000 hits of CIA promoted orange sunshine to the unassuming crowd and all hell broke lose shortly thereafter

  • Yeah Altamont was a straight set up from jump. The CIA was trying to start a Riot at the Concert between the Hell's Angels, and what ever Militants might have shown up. Another thing was the fact that Woodstock resulted in no Violence and America couldn't leave the impression in Peoples minds that they can have a massive gathering in Peace without major Government Involvement!!!

  • That Orange Sunshine was heavy! Shoudn't be in a crowd with that stuff, maybe in a boat on a river. The Yellow Sunshine was a groovy mellow trip. At least the CIA kept the acid pure. The LSD that was founded for thearaputic mental health was demonized by rhe GOVERNMENT by trying to use it as a weapon. Pure Idiots.

  • that was extremely accurate except for ONE thing. meredith hunter was wearing GREEN, not white.

  • god... wow.... is THIS altamont? is this the infamous scene etc etc etc etc etc. these idiots look like they are taking the piss.

  • I said you're right.... now what else do you want?

  • Your soul.

  • OK OK... you're right. I'm wrong and I needed you to tell me I'm arrogant. Now sleep well!!!

  • I'm always glad to help a person in need. ;)

    Nighty Night.

  • PopPolitics: "And then we see the murder itself: A member of the Hells Angels stabs a man holding a gun in front of the stage. Or, that is, we see it twice. It happens during the performance of Under My Thumb,"

  • Songfacts: "Under My Thumb - This was the song The Stones were playing when a fan named Meridith Hunter was stabbed to death by members of The Hell's Angels at the Altamont Speedway concert in 1969."

  • Wikipedia: "Footage from Gimme Shelter shows that while the Rolling Stones were ending "Under My Thumb," Hunter was approaching the stage and drawing his gun; Passaro subsequently parried the gun with his left hand and stabbed Hunter in the upper back with his right."

  • awesome video guys. I like your take on "drowning in a drainage ditch"...

  • This concert marked the end of "peace and love"...

  • At 4:15 Hunter's girlfriend looks down and picks up the gun. Immediately after it's confiscated by Hells Angels security staff. Footage never seen before shows Hunter pulling gun out of his green coats front pocket moments before pointing at the stage.

  • A terrible video, making light of a horrific incident. The truth is, The Hell's Angels likely saved Mick Jagger's bacon. Hunter was armed with a gun, had bragged brfore the show that he was going to "...kill Jagger" (his own words.)

I'm not sure how good of a shot Hunter was, but witnesses (fans near the altercation) heard shots fired. So he was shooting. The Hell's Angel with the knife acted within his right, and saved lives.

  • What a lame piece of crap this was, and I only made it 21 seconds before I shut the damn thing off. Was this for a 6th grade class project? What garbage.

  • 21 seconds is still intro. u dont know shit. this is a classic piece of art

  • You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. If you did, you'd know Meredith Hunter was stabbed during 'Under My Thumb'.

  • At the beginning of Sympathy? LOL! You need to watch the movie Gimme Shelter again (assuming you have seen it at all).

They stopped Sympathy due to altercations, and started Under My Thumb to cool things out; THAT is when Mr. Hunter was stabbed.

I eagerly await your retraction ;)

  • Seeing it on youtube doesn't make it real. Try being there when it happened.

  • Yeah, I figured you were too arrogant and to admit you're wrong.

  • You're pathetic. It's a clip from the Maysles' movie Gimme Shelter!

And being there doesn't necessarily mean you saw it happen---there were 300,000 people there, most of whom didn't see a damned thing regarding the murder. I suppose, next, you'll tell me you were part of the tiny fraction of eyewitnesses. ;)

  • Your smarmy little straw-man rant is based on my use of the word 'mister'?

LOL. You're the Ghandi of retards.

  • Hahaha! This from the guy who thinks I support Obama because I used the word 'mister' in reference to a black guy who was killed at a concert almost 40 years ago.

    I take it back---you aren't retarded, you're a fucking nut-case!

The fact that you would make such an incredible leap of logic, and project it onto a total stranger, betrays your sense of frustration and anger that Obama, in all likelihood, will be the next potus.

    Good luck with that.

  • For the record, I rather hope Obama wins the popular vote while McCain ekes out an electoral college win. That would really make things interesting. ;)

  • I'll save you some time. Just type 'In Defense Of The Hells Angels - Rolling Stones Altamont' into the Youtube search engine. FF to around 2:30.

You can wipe that egg off your face now, buddy.

  • Or you could check p. 506 of Stanley Booth's "The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones" (Vintage Books, 1984.)

Mr. Booth was standing behind Keith's amplifier during the show.

    How does that crow taste?

  • hows it feel to be a dickhead??

  • You two downie jerk offs had the balls to put this piece of shit in front of your class? you idiots have no idea what you're doing.

  • VERY VERY FOOLISH, You two idiots have no idea what you are fucking with.

  • you two lops are playing with fire...

  • ..(._.)

    q¤_¤p

    ....\../....Thanks Michael

  • OB, have you ever done "the LSD?" Do you know how much you would have to do to OD? Here is a hint - more than is ever available. If you want to say someone got tripped out and drowned, that is fine, but no one "OD on LSD."

And what do you think the Secret Service would do if someone pulled a gun on the president? It is fine to say after the fact that they shouldn't have killed the guy, but it was not murder. It was doing what they were hired to do. You're ignorant.

  • 60s were great

  • ha ha, real funny. I like how you put thug #1 and #2 instead of the Hell's Angels in the credits. The whole Altamont fiasco I think is a bit more complex than what you portray here. Many were to blame, not just the Hells Angels, but they contributed in a big way sending their prospects to work the show. Also, Brian Jones didn't play at Altamont, he'd been dead for about six months already. You better hope Sonny doesn't see this, I doubt he'd think it so funny.

  • The Angels acted rightly. The fuckin guy had a gun and said he was gonna kill someone.

  • BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAYAHAHAHAHAHHEYYY

ALTAMONT WAS NO LAUGHING MATTER!! baaaaasheheheaaaaaahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

HOPE YOU guys got an a on that!

  • haha hells angels on vespas

  • hahaha prertty good video :) haha like it so bad! hahaha LOL!

  • are you shitting me?

  • ROTFLMAO

  • Haha... I thought this was pretty funny. The Hell's Angels driving scooters was ace.

  • This is probably the most accurate documentary I've seen of the Stones.

  • hells angels are legends i must say.

  • Those Hell's Angeles were on par as drunk and messed up as anyone in the crowd; however Mick Jagger is so lucky an Angle saved his life that night. A deranged, lunatic with a loaded gun was in front of the stage and an Angle reacted promptly. Jagger, I hope is grateful.

  • you didn't hear? it just came out very recently that the Hells Angels, in retribution for Jagger firing them after the concert, made plans to murder Mick in his home on Long Island. Evidently, they had plans to use a boat to ferry them out to his private home and then kill him with whatever means they had. Whether by mere coincidence or Divine Intervention, there was a bad storm on the day they had set to murder Mick and many of the assassins were washed overboard. They never tried again.

  • I heard that news a few weeks ago on CNN. I believe the plot had to do more with Jagger's representatives preparing to testify against the Angles for the the wrongful death at Altamont, not about getting fired; they were paid in beer and drugs for security.

  • was it a right angle?

  • Left, this was Northern California you see.

  • LOL

  • I shouldnt be laughing at this..it's wasn't funny...but damn you boys are hysterical...and I was wondering too, how gay is fuck?

  • I think the 60's definitively ended on or around January 1st, 1970.

  • you're wrong the 60's ended on December 31, 1969.

  • Bloopers???-How could you tell?Cute video all and all guys.

  • a hells angel now look under brothel owner caught with child porn on any search engine.

  • Why did he come to the concert with a gun as the fact that the angels were providing security was not advertised. The stones thought that the USA version of the HA were weak but n fact were the real deal. Not long ago the Angel was acquitted by the evidence on the film the fact that Hunter drew the gun.

  • Wankers

  • lol, no way... you have got to be kidding me. Why do so many people care about this video??? This is too funny, and just as a side note to jrmoldenhauer, how gay is fuck?

  • Yep...thats EXACTLY what happened....spent alot of time on this I can tell

  • The $500 dollars of beer thing is just a myth - the Angels were originally hired in order to keep them from causing trouble themselves; the beer thing originated when one of the event organisers offereed to buy the Angels beer supply for 500 bucks at the event in an attempt to curb the violence.

  • I think he pulled the gun in self defence from a racist attack. He was with a white girl and those nazis could not deal with that.

  • Yes, you are right. He did.

This was a planned murder that few knew about.

I did my research on this...Hunter was innocent. The Hell's Angels were arrested, but never indicted because a witness would never come forth (out of fear for the retaliation of the Hell's Angels- who were notorious for their countless murders, rapes, ect.).

  • Yes, you are right. He did.

  • A man doesn't go to a concert with his girl and with his beautiful green suit, for killing the singer in public, being seen by everyone and surely being killed

  • But ultimately you did something that no other Altamont piece I've ever seen has accomplished: you remembered all four people who died.

  • Bad opening music choice.

  • That was pretty funny. I thought it was going to suck, good job.

  • its not a bad topic, it wasnt tragic, it was a man standing up to a armed man and being a hero for ending him before he could do something tragic, nothing more.

  • Brian Jones was not at Altamont. It was Mick Taylor.

  • that was pretty fun and true

  • The makers of this should be ashamed for creating something that pokes fun at a musical event that went horribly wrong.

The comedic reenactment of a hit and run resulting in the death of two people is in very poor taste. Guys, if you want to spoof a historical concert, pick a target like Live Aid. Not a concert where someone(whether they deserved it or not) was brutally murdered right by the stage. What do you think the family of that murdered young man would think of this film you created?

  • I think that this was done in good humor. And it seems like a fairly accurate representation of what happened. And how would some H.S. students spoof Live Aid? It is history and you shouldn't be offended by it, does it piss you off when the History Channel does a show about the Holocaust too?

  • So, it wouldn't piss YOU off or think it was ridiculous if the History Channel did a comedic spoof about the Holocaust? I LOVE a good spoof!! But if it's done about an appropriate subject. Obviously, you see nothing wrong with poking fun at people dying and suffering and I think that's too bad.

  • Either everything thing is ok to make fun of or nothing is. You cant pick and choose on someones' first amendment rights. And if the H.C. did a spoof on the Holocaust in good taste like i believe this video to be, then i would not have a problem with it. What i might have a problem with is if someone who cant take a joke comes in a starts to piss on everything.

  • Wow. Talk about misinterpreting a statement.

Why are you making this a free speech rights issue? Everybody (at least in countries like the US) has the right to say something as intelligent, beautiful, stupid or offensive as they want. The guys that made this video had every right to make it. I don't care if those guys make a video in which they say " F#$% President Bush in the a#^&**!! "

All I did was practice the same exact right that I possess to criticize what they created.

  • I'm not saying that you don't have the right to say bad things about an awesome video, I'm saying that you just don't have to be an ass about it. That's all.

  • why would you play "start me up" that didnt come out til like '83 and in the credits it mentions Brian Jones was in there somewhere wtf he was dead (Jonesy RIP)also you missed a lot of minor details but it had good humour and got the message across if i were your teacher id give you a C+ for effort thats about it...

  • We played start me up because it is an awesome song. Screw you for being a spelling nazi, and we did the whole thing; filming and editing in one afternoon so sorry for missing details. We got an A, but then again, our teacher wasn't an a*& hole either.

  • wow...hold on there C.S.N., i said it was an awesome song, i didn't say anything about the standard's of the Stones. And yes you're being an asshole by hating on a video project done by high schoolers. Does that make you feel ecool? Because it shouldn't.

  • " And yes you're being an asshole by hating on a video project done by high schoolers. "

So, Bob, are saying that you think that just because you're only in high school that nobody has a right to criticize something you made? Wake up, dude!!

You're not a 2 year old kid who doesn't know any better!!

  • Bob, if you look up above, you'll see that no one has criticized your video more than me. I simply think that you chose a bad topic to poke fun at.

But if you keep reading, you'll also see that I respect your right to make it and post it.

  • Meh.

  • No, thats not what i mean at all. I'm saying that C.S.N. is insane if he actually expects any sort of a production by high schoolers. And you really seem to have a personal problem with this video. Did one of us that made it piss in your cereal once? If so, accept my apology and i will never urinate on any of your food ever again. There, that should solve it. Good day to you sir.

  • Are you sopose to be the fuckin movie critic?

  • This is freakin' awesome, and it's done with good humor. I'm doing a paper on Altamont right now. I'm glad I came acrossed this
