if you xbox is broken and you still have a warranty online, you can send it to microsoft to fix it. they look at the sticker to see if it is tampered with and if it is, you will have to pay for the fix.

Microsoft's warranty starts 2 months after the box is made so if it sits on the shelf for a year you only have 2 months left. AND it only covers failed DVD drives 90 days after the warranty started. The best thing to do is buy one at Best Buy, get the 2 year extended warranty then you can replace it whenever it breaks.

Yeah, the xbox hard drive is just a SATA laptop hard drive in a fancy case, if you open the xbox's hard drive, it won't void the console's warrenty, but it will void the hard drive warrenty.

Mine did not have the silver sticker. Mine was made of paper and said xbox 360 with the ring of lights on it. ir has a microsoft band in it and I guess it you tried to remove it the band would break. I just took apart the case and the sticker is still in perfect shape. I guess they fucked up the new sticker design!
