My grandfathers Model 70 was just passed down to me. Im 42 and remember that two-popper sound. It brings back great memories for me growing up. His Model 70 is still in excellent condition and I plan to put her in her first parade this July.
I know the man very well and can assure you that it was nothing but hard work over many decades that enabled him to buy those 'nice green toys'. It certainly was NOT a windfall or inheritance.
We have a 1971 John Deere 4000 Diesel syncro range only owner mint shape. topcop5673@yahoo.com

why do people say diezel?
its diesel........or maybe i'm wrong???
disturbed1stlrs 3 years ago 2
My guess is it's the german pronunciation.
Rudolf Diesel developed the practical Diesel engine in 1893. Probably pronounced his name with the "Z" kinda' caught on I'd say!

I'm also curious as to how this fella bought all those nice green toys. Stock Market? Inheritance?....any thoughts??
stratman250 3 years ago
Maybe he is a heart surgeon......I don't know..but I sure would like to get into that line of work/business whatever it is!

Kudos to him! That must have taken soooo much patience.
Very nice collection. I'm looking for a simple '52 A or earlier B.
Grew up with those beauties.
Any way you look at it...those units are not cheap.
