  • i know how to do a bridge, i thought they were going to tell you how to start standing up then going a bridge

  • To do this you should practice raindrops. Also, i'd say get some upper arm strength.

    It feels like my upper chest won't go off the ground and my arms are useless in trying to push off....

  • @bckwalton it is very complicated for the first time but I have a solution, ok go by a wall put your feet flat on it and try to kick over then try to do ur bridge and you'll get just keep trying :))

  • @kylebabb13 u can try doing it against a walland pushing forward or try moving in a bit or out a bit depending on which way ur arms arnt straight :) soz if this doesnt work im only 12 and have been taking gymnastics for 3 years

  • I was very young when I did gymnastics... and my trainers always told me it was important to keep your legs STRETCHED< and not arched :S

  • in a bridge you should keep your legs as straight as possible ;) this stretches your back more and improves yous backhandspring ^^

  • @cildni I have the same problem.

  • @cildni gymnastics is basically endurance training flexibilty and using body weight mostly to workout so they can support themselves... IT is something you need to practice because if you don't you will feel weird at first cause it's new movements your not used to... Not everything can always be achieved with brute strength. Martial arts and Gymnastics are great examples of that. :)

  • @cildni U dont have to be strong to do that, balance and endurance play important roles in this

  • @cildni not strong i cant even do the splits.. and i find this pretty easy

  • @cildni I think you need flexibility more than pure muscular strength. Having loads of muscle mass may actually make this harder to do.

  • @cildni Thats what the hell I said, I can't even bridge well at all but I bench 245 as a max, im 166 pounds, and I do parkour and Tae Kwon do even!!! But I can't even freaking do this.

  • @cildni Honestly, it's not about strength. It has to do with your mind over body. Your muscles/body isn't used to doing that, so it won't just naturally happen. Kind of like a baby learning to walk... it looks like the most awkward and unnatural thing ever. Until they do it repeatedly. If you're not used to bending and stretching your body in weird ways, it can feel impossible. But just KNOW that you can. I wasn't able to do a handstand till I told my brain to STFU, and I can't lift weights.

  • when you can do a bridge if you straighten your legs and push your shoulders so there parallel to your hands it helps your flexibilty so its easier to do walkovers, mexican handstands and flicks (backhandsprings) :D

  • my wrists hurts when I do the bridge, my wrist don't shake or anything so I don't need supporter straps. Just need to know how to prevent it.

  • @DeathLord1996 curl up in a ball and roll around after doing a bridge. and stretch your back forwards by touching your toes etc. after doing a bridge or bending backwards you have to counter it by stretching it forwards.

  • Girlll! Go for it! Life is tooo short not to try! :-) I totally regret not doing gymnastics sooner! Even though Im like really flexible, I am not very well light haha! But I say go for it! And just work on stretching out those muscles!

  • @iRockU96 I just started last tuesday! I am 12 and I love it! I had sooo much fun we for to go on the giant and do sooo much. Im so sad its only once a week for 1hr :(

    I was soo happy because there were 12 year olds that were just like me :)

    Dont worry about if their better you will catch up stick to it!

  • @iRockU96 I'm a 17 year old male (not gay) who just joined gymnastics alone. Do what you want to do. The concepts are fairly easy to grasp, just push yourself to learn, don't be scared!
