@MAnuciao79 What were they? I'm not a doctor, just interested in anesthesia, and as a "layman"I found these "mistakes" : She didn't position the head of the patient before intubation, the person who held the tube while she was pulling out the stylet didn't wear gloves, she inflated the cuff before confirming the position of the tube, she didn't use a CO2 "sensor",she didn't fix the tube's position with a tape or a tube holder, and she didn't tape the patient's eyes. What were the others?
@Liaram66 I am working as a Paramedic in Canada, and using the cricoid pressure helps the medic that is intubating visualize the vocal cords. Full stomach or not, it makes a big difference :).
im taking all my prereq's and i plan on applying for the respiatory care program...out of all the major's i could do and all the options i've gone over a thousand times in my head this career keeps coming back to me..im not sure if i can do this..do i just go for it and hope i can get use to the idea of tubing someone???? i don't wanna get so far in school and realize this is not for me..all opinion's and any information from RT's is welcomed :)
That's normal. Cat and dog eyes stay open while the animal is under anesthesia, too. I sure hope they put an eye lube in her eyes. I will say, though, that this was a "slow tube"-- I can get a cat or dog tubed faster than this.
i was awake in my sugery, but then they had 2 knock me out coz i was panicking

@Liaram66 She didnt auscultate over the stomach for air, Partner didnt use cricoid pressure. Where is this lol?
m3gro in reply to Liaram66 (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@m3gro I thought that cricoid pressure was needed only during rapid sequence induction, when patients had full stomach.

No tube = No airway = No breathing = Death... I think the tube is the best idea. Ok this intubation was 'sloppy' but the anaesthetist got an airway.

At least you're alive to bitch about the experience. Trach tubes are a good thing.

Yeah and the anesthesist only checked the top of both lungs neither stomach or base...
