mabey a smudge more treble, but thats damn close! The amp i use (Line 6 spyder 3 15 watt) actually has a preset (out of 4) calles "streets have no name", so thats what i use
These are Kinman Woodstocks (regular set). Expensive, but noiseless and one of the best sets of pups I've ever had. I also like my original '73 Fender Staggered which have just a little more quack, but they don't have as much output/grit. I find the Kinman's to have better output without losing much quack. Thx for watching!
@U2GuitarTutorials no way! i have the standard woodstocks in my strat too! but i can't get that sound from position 2 or 4. better start experimenting with pickup height again then! thanks!
BTW, while my guitar was in tune based on open strings; however, someone (thank you, Matthew) noticed that something was slightly off on this vid. It turns out I did have an intonation problem with this guitar. I have since corrected the issue by tuning the guitar based on the 12th fret notes. Live and learn.
Michael, cool, but you're forgetting a really important detail in nailing Edge's tone - his plectrum. You can EQ all you want, but if you don't use his Herco plectrum (and play it the wrong way round using the pimples), the sound will always remain close...... but never nailed ....
Thank. You are correct about having to use the right type of guitar pick. But I think you mean the blue German Herdim guitar pick. Edge does not use Herco's. I am using the "wrong, pimpled" side of a blue Herdim in this clip and I've mentioned the Herdim in my other tutorials. I should have mentioned it again here. Thank you for the reminder.
@U2GuitarTutorials Hi
Did you use Fet boost in this video?
Rafal102able 6 months ago
@Rafal102able
If I was using the Axe-Fx, probably, yes. Sometime I use the Triad, but I have modeled the Triad using the FET boost in the Axe-Fx.

I was wondering if you have the patch up on axe change or on the fractal site? I would love to check load this thing and give it a whirl. Great tone!

The Edge's tone is a mystery. It's almost got a fuzz to it... But you're pretty close. Good Job!

Sorry, I don't. But it's from the introduction to the Vertigo tour. I got it from the Live in Chicago DVD.

I misspoke in this video. The 3rd or middle position is only the middle pup, not all three.
