I like Colin Firth but he was totally miscast for the movie. His American accent is bad- even if it was authentic though, we're so used to him having a British one that it just sounds weird. And he doesn't look muscular enough.

Sorry :/ Good on him for winning the Bafta this year though!

As much as I love to listen to Firth's voice, in truth, Hugh Laurie's the only well-known contemporary British actor who can do an American accent well. Ralph Fiennes' almost there, but he sounds a little silly too, when he tries it. They just can't seem to get the cadence and the correct dropped letters. I wonder why native Brits hear the "R" sound sound the way they do when they hear American English, and feel they have to make that goofy pirate-y "Arrrr" sound in order to do it correctly, ha.
