You cant be taught how to play, First off how do you "pwn" with you're graphics on low and youre still only running 30 frames. You most likely get shit lag spikes and get fucking owned. To get CSS technique you have to obtain it by lots of playing and hours of training not a book/video teaching you.

You're absolutely right karnifex350, couldn't have said it better myself. And you ask a good question, 30fps for me is a slideshow it's horrible and in a game where split second desisions are all the difference, it makes you wonder.

Perhaps his PC just has a really crummy Cpu that can't handle the cycles needed for the Gpu while recording. Regardless he did it in realtime, how in the world anyone can play that way in a FPS, especially CSS, is beyond me!

For a good player, who charges for lessons, he certainly could have used a better PC at the time this was recorded. I see constant frame rates bellow 60. Anything below 45 is unplayable for me, but back then it was an issue, now days I think anyone should sit at 299fps lol. Well at 1920x1200 maxed, 8xaa/16xaf, I get 271.83 fps on the stress test. The average gamer I bet gets 150 easy at those settings. It's nice now days, nobody can complain about video lag ;)

When the FPS would fall below 60, I'd get input lag, ie the mouse sensitivity changes as the fps drops, this was hell for me. Now it doesn't matter it's always over 200 (don't use Vsync)

fraps lowers your frame rate on cs when running. net_graph 1 only displays how many frames per second your computer gets. programs running at the same time can lower this.

Fraps is designed not to lower your frame rate, however there are a few games out there it's buggy with. And obviously recording kills the frame rate. When I benchmark 3DMark 06 with Fraps running in the background I score exactly the same, 32,812.

Fraps only borrows, and incredibly lightly from the Cpu, not the Gpu, virtually all newer games are Cpu bottlenecked as it is so it should make very little difference.

However when I play any source game i use net_graph 1 instead of fraps, simpler.

Maybe on an older system but I can't imagine how something as small and simple as Fraps can hurt your frame rate, especially when it's famous for benchmarking! I tested myself using the video stress test at the main menu and I get the same results with fraps on or off. But I mean, CSS is so old...DX9.0b, I have it maxed and still score over 290fps on the stress test. Now recording's a whole different story.

Regardless Fraps has "zero" effect on my Phenom II Black Edition Deneb 955 @ 4.16Ghz.

You may have "Vertical Sync" turned on in the video options in the game, this will lock your frame rate at 60 no matter what you do. Simply disable vertical sync :)
